Architect, seven years at university, only a couple of years experience (aged 26), i am finding exactly the same as you guys, overqualified for everything available, market saturated on worthwhile pursuits.

I don't have any idea's left. On the plus side I have a new girlfriend, she is lovely. :D

Ooooou, I did something like this way back in my first year at Newcastle APL.

Mountain biker, Roady, Trials rider. We had to fit it into a very restrictive box IIRC, the idea wasnt to create a viable solution but to explore the conflicting requirements, to experiment.

Stick a picture on here before your crit and i'll tell you its shit before they do.

I've got two Architecture degrees (Undergrad and Postgraduate) and openly admit that I am buggered for the time being, I recognise that am not owed anything, but I resent what was a promising career going down the drain because of other peoples excesses. If you come out with a degree that isn't job specific, particularly in humanities, language, social sciences, you will find yourself grouped in with the dross who should never have gone to university in the first place. Gaah!

trailmonkey – Planet Ocean on rubber, the actual watch is a special edition but they aren't hard to find.

cynic-al – You need to be registered member of a forum which no longer accepts new members. If you are looking for something drop me a PM and i will have a look.

    How about:

    £530

    £400

Try posting on a watch forum, you will get more help sourcing an actual watch, I have a Speedmaster, a PO and a couple of JLC's and i'd consider looking elsewhere with your budget; Sinn, Stowa, Nomos etc…

    Don't touch Rolex.

Shaun Palmer. As a youngster i had a copy of MBUK or MBR with a picture of him on his FSR, Gustavs, he had had a falling out with his kit sponsor so competed in a pair of jeans with Specialized written down the leg in marker pen. Anyone have the picture, i'd like to frame it.

Turns out that a £2000 Omega doesn't make you any happier after all

I carry the same affliction and £2k Omega, but can confirm that 'a £7k JLC doesn't make you any happier either'

    What was i thinking… or perhaps i wasn't… :D

I used to suffer something similar but it turned into numb feet after 30 mins or so. Obviously stretching helped, but a set of custom orthotics realigned my Achilles and solved some over-pronation, i dont have half the trouble i used to. Perhaps its worth a trip to a podiatrist?!

    The man asked for a £700 watch…

We have people suggesting Rolex, and Panerai… some of the worst watches money can buy at any price point!

JLC, Lange&Sohne, PP, AP, VC, Dorbluth…

You would be mad to buy anything from the High-street in that price bracket, don't touch Tag or Rolex, they are the pits.

Look up the following: Stowa, Nomos, Sinn (could be right up your street), Junghans, Zenith

    I tell a lie, they were e2c's and now SE530's. Both dead, it's like an earphone grave yard;

Yep, the guarantee thing says two years, i have just trawled through my papers and found the original purchase receipt dated Aug-2008. Phew!

Its the right earphone, i had a set of e4c's before the 530's, the wire gave up on those. I shall report back!

*I actually quite like Gordon Brown*

Don't ask me to explain it, I know it's irrational. Like many others i have been dealt a pretty bad hand by this recession, i blame the tory bankers parceling bad debt and the thought of a tory government 'shutting up shop' horrifies me.
