make the most of it, look at it as an opportunity to do some things you have been waiting to do. Or help me set up a business.

    All superb advice, just touching on the things I was concerned about. On a few points;
    – So, no need to register company name if acting as a sole-trader, but I will make relevant checks
    – No need for licences from the search I have done
    – Not registering for VAT, I cant see any benefit, low overheads and I am not likely to reach the threshold (chance would be a fine thing)
    – Advertising will be via local mags and papers, yellow pages, web, word of mouth, partners with other tradesmen, perhaps a letter drop locally (again in partnership)
    – Accounts on a spreadsheet and checked by an accountant, presumably consumables like petrol, ink, stationary are subtracted from profits as working costs? I will read up on all the relevant ‘how to’
    – Have just been on the phone to Business-Link, they are sending me so info.
    – “Get some customers first!!” I have some, plenty, the idea is to put a formal (read legal) face on it all and to drum up some work from further afield.
    – “home insurance company” noted.
    – There are no issues regarding liability as far as I can see (re: LTD), as I will be taking out PI insurance.
    – Would it be worthwhile taking these up to save on bother? here

If you want a cervelo then buy an R3, IMHO the addict is a better frame with better geometry and available for about £1200 if you go for a 2008, plenty about. £700 saved could be put into some hand-builts.

Joxster – interesting reading. Are you not just mirroring my observations though? Its a power supplement, can it be used to increase FT? Does it have any benefits in terms of maintaining the IF (higher TSS) or does it just assist at the top end? say 5sec to 1min?

    Isn’t cycling about sustained effort?

    65g is a massive amount… :|

rs, i take your point but riding a bike is not like lifting weights, the nominal power is not important but the Watts per kg for sustained efforts is key. Mass is counter-productive. Cycling is all about increasing your functional threshold and not fast twitch efforts. Arguably it could be beneficial if your chosen race was a flat circuit race or sub 25 mile TTing where power rules, but for mtbing i cant see a benefit.

I’d simply use a protein supplement.

It doesn’t make you bad tempered, its not an anabolic steroid you know. If putting on mass is your aim then give it a go, gains in size are primarily as a result of increased water retention, these will dissipate when you stop.

DO NOT take it without knowing how to cycle it.

It’s of little to no benefit in cycling.

mtt – that’s stumped me, I’m going to take a guess at Spain?

I think you have thrown me a curve ball, it almost looks temporary so I am going to go with Scandinavian public building/visitor centre. No idea.

you should get this one, now this is good architecture (don’t look at the image title)

Don’t worry about it, get some scaffolding boards or, as above, railway sleepers. These have the depth/rigidity to hold their shape when moisture becomes an issue.

    CFH, as I am sure you are aware you will be getting this soon;

I had nothing to do with this but was party to some amusing emails from Board Directors regarding ODPM. I wish I still had them.

I had to work on these once, I am sorry London. I have shaken the hand of the man who designed them and failed to punch him with my free hand.

hmmmm, the sad thing is you could throw way more money at that BH without too much effort,

    – SRM chainset + BB – £2.5k
    – Drop the LEW’s in favour of some Obeys – £3k
    – LW Rder – £1K
    – Dugast – £300
    – Ax finishing – £1k
    – then i’d drop the frame for an EPS or a VXRS

aP: No need, the atrium was partially glazed in reclaimed, locally sourced hard coat low E glass and worked as part of the active stack ventilation system controlled by an off-site computer.

I have a lot of money riding on the daily fluctuations of an early 20’s LA planner who just has to have her say. I tried adding random bits on just so she could tell me to take them off…

I feel I am being drawn into this…

    Planning + Creative = Good.
    Planning > Creative = Bad

I don’t have a good word to say for LA planners, abysmal. A one year course bolted onto a 2.2 in Geography/Sociology… you could only work in the public sector you talentless, feckless, arses.
