E-Bones look sweet but a shame to be having that anodizing off straight away.

Have just been told about DMRs Cr-Mo crank.

I'd not considered road cranks. Good call.

RF won't work as I am told the axle has to attach to the RH crank. Thanks though.

It has been said before and I'll say it again here. If ever you want to kill someone be sure to do it with a car.

In terms of the sentence I do thing this sort of negligence should be viewed as closer to manslaughter rather than a driving without due care offence but were that to be the case the 12 men on the jury would probably throw it out as most of them would have used a mobile while driving and they would not wish to see the inside of chokey.

That sounds like a reserved 'no' to me.

I presume that the road bike in question was bought 2 years ago or delivered by the shop and a qualified mechanic?

    So buy something else?

It means that when a customer takes charge of their Trek, Marin, Wilier or whatever the bike is in good condition and ready to be ridden safely. It does also protect the dealer base from discounters and stops mail-order bikes being taken for warranty issues at shops that did not supply the bike in the first place.

You may think it a bit bonkers but Trek make the rules on this one and industry whispers suggest that, in time, more and more brands will follow suit.

9/11 is one of those 'where were you when you heard' incidents. 102 Minutes was powerful stuff but the bit that stays with me was the bampot screaming at the camera that we should go bomb 'Finland or where-ever they come from'. The eye for an eye vitriol was astounding, if understanable.

    robdob, well said that man.

GaryM, I was just moaning about all you newbies coming into the sport cluttering up the place and winning competitions thereby making my sport more popular leading to loads of newbies cluttering up the place and winning competitions thereby making……

Humbug to all of it. Too many people riding bikes since we got good at it at meaningless sporting events. It used to be better when all MTB races happened in a field somewhere out of the way. That way those of us riding had the woods to ourselves. Nowadays you get to the car park or trail head and there are loads of folk there enjoying themselves and not taking it at all seriously. Tut!

After 45mins exercise you start burning fat, typically. Long duration, low intensity exercise is best for fat burning.

Well done for actually giving enough of a s*** to do something about it rather than walking on by. May karma be your friend!

Try Selway Packaging who I think maybe local to you. They are who we use and they are very nice and helpful. Based in Caversham – 0118-9462333.

Maybe we should follow the actual german system whereby the plate belongs to the driver, not the car. Then DVLA could be the sole issuer of plates and anything none standard could be taken off the road with punitive penalty charges.

I had a D5-R for a day a while back, by way of a courtesy car. Nice enough car but the boot was a joke. Neat solution for getting young chaps to buy into Volvos though. I liked the three indicator flashes you got by dabbing the stalk. Very handy for the lazy indicator user.

Fair play to them. Somewhere between the status quo and their idealism lies a happy middle ground.

Check out http://www.mbwales.com if you are happy riding trail ctrs. NantYrArian is 25mins east of Aberystwyth and is well worth a trip IMO. 90 mins will get you to any number of great rides.

Local trundle tomorrow with a buddy who does not usually ride. Note to self; not too fast, hilly or long.

Sunday is a mystery yet to be discovered.

Same reason that a 150 years ago every-one hated the British, 400 years ago it was the Spanish, and a 1000 years ago people hated the Romans.

Not sure who hated the Romans 1000 years ago however those Normans were about to become an annoyance.

Americans are the nicest people, on the whole. Never met one I didn't like bar the drunk at a friends wedding and he gets the benefit of the doubt.

Some of the roads out north toward Twyford are not too bad. If you fancy a quite corner of the district the roads around Wargrave create a very quite loop of a couple of miles but it is a bit out of the way of Wokingham. Otherwise c_g is right.

I thought that Truvativ used a tapered axle so typically other manufacturers BBs are too narrow and the left cup is too big. Sounds like your problem is a different one.

Contact your local rights of way team I would suggest is a start. They will be listed on the council's website. If the trail you are talking about is the one I am thinking of it is a great, if cheeky, piece of riding.

Buy a map and go do a proper ride in the hills. Great cross border route out lined in WhatMTB this month and Scotland has such great access laws that the world of trails is your oyster. Adventures live longer in the mind than a day of following arrows in the woods.

If we didn't hold records on all sorts of everything we'd not hacve caught those MPs with their fingers in the till.

For those suggesting that we are on our way to 1984, might I respectfully suggest that you read the book before citing it in the usual neo-con media panic.

I am a mite taller and also run a 19" XTC 2006 but with a 110mm stem. I had a long weekend on an Anthem Advanced last year with the same 595mm top tube as the 18" Anthem X. This was fitted with a 100mm stem and went really nicely. My erring toward the large size is based on it not looking too much like a gate and being able to use an 80mm stem without losing reach. Unfortunately we both sit between the two sizes but I reckon that the large will be the way to go if you tend to do longer rides.

Dealer show is in a few weeks so until then your guess is as good as mine. Unfortunateyl I fear that the prices may creep up a bit given current trends.

How tall are you and what top tube length do you ride?

We just sent a large X1 demo bike back to Giant, pity. Giant have now sold out of all their large Anthem bikes. New bikes will be launched in the next month so might be worth holding out for those. I had a try of the large bike, having previously tested medium bikes. I am 185cm and found the medium pretty comfy but the large gave a bit more room and permitted a shorter stem which I decided was probably best for my height and riding.

Fish the wheel out and pop a large, flat blade screwdriver in there and lever the pistons back into their proper positions. This should sort it. You might want to fish the pads out first.

Haven't really seen ours yet. Give us two months and a week and I'll have a pic or two thousand.
