Last pair of trainers I bought for jogging came from Sweatshop and they do bras and clothing too. They can do foot and gait analysis and even let me take the shoes out for a test run though whether they can offer the same service for bras is unknown to me. There is a store in Woking near the station – http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/storefinder.cfm?shop_ID=18

Scenic has bags of appeal and lots of them about but the feed back is 50/50. I know buying used is always a bit of a risk but some tales of woe have put me off.

The more camp, the better. Typically anything played on a guitar by a man with hair longer than his Mum's.

As a point of note we already have a 407 saloon. Just the Mazda will not make sense so we are replacing that. I think I'll have to take a bundle of notes out with me on Saturday and just go bite the bullet on whatever goes well and has a useful boot.

As a father with a newborn, you won't need to worry about its bike carrying capacity for a while

You are spoiling my efforts at hiding from the inevitable.

I think I'd wanted a Berlingo for its bike lugging capacity and the search web spread around that sort of shape of vehicle. Hatch would probably work fine in truth.

Where are you staying? Great views from the tops of the Border's hills. May I suggest doing a ride up onto the tops by way of escaping the well trodden ways?

Go see Housteads fort on the wall. Loads of cool bits of the camp are left and that stuff has been there for getting on 2000 years!

I work for an Indian owned British car manufacturer and the expensive testing and development work we have to do so we can sell 12 cars in some obscure country is unbelievable…..our cars haven't increased in price anywhere near as much as the bike components

Bike industry has not benefited from tax handouts to manufacturers and scrappage schemes to keep it afloat so lets not go there.

We got a Mamas and Papas something-or-other on Freecycle. Check that out would be my advice as the things cost a fortune.

    From the dealer site –

    1. What kind of headset is used on mountain bike ranges such as the XtC, NRS, VT & all Maestro models?
-It is a semi-integrated/ zero stack headset 1 1/8 (key dimensions are the internal headtube diameter , 44mm, and cup depth which can be no more than 11mm).
-Both Cane Creek and F.S.A. manufacture this style of headset.
-The code to order one from Giant is 131-TH9CC01-5.
-Other models available. Please call Warranty for information and costs.

Benefits as above. They are, arguably, the only official organisation pushing wider cyclists rights in the UK.

No but they have very active Wednesday evening and Sunday am ride groups here in Reading.

Why you young buck, you don't know what you are saying! OK, so the riding position is a bit weird and the brake/gears/suspension will not work as well as you might expect but it is old and cool and has stood the test of time.

The Retrobike Posse of Justice will be waiting for you when least you expect it ;)

I think the geometry was unchanged between the old version and the newer curvy one. Head and seat angles will slacken by a degree or so and the BB will be raised by a half inch maybe.

makes me shudder a bit at how the SA forces really acted in the townships

tinker-belle informs me that the 'one bullet, one prawn' thing was taken from an ANC slogan concerning white folk. She was cheating by understanding all the Afrikaans asides and getting the extra gags.

I seriously have to question the nature of such relationships. I count myself very lucky that herself both understands the value of expensive bike junk and that she does not object to me buying it. I think it is perceived as being cheaper and preferable to a mistress ;)

17 on a ride from QE Park in Hampshire about a decade ago. I was running the old semi-slick Michelin Wildgrippers that were probably overly light for general use and the thorns wished to express this point. New at the time Slime tubes meant that we didn't have to stop though but they had to go once the leaky tyre had been investigated further. Casings on those tyres were stupid thin.

Ours are with Direct Line who I have found to be very helpful when claiming for torched cars or hit-by-cars kittens.

On our first kitten I had paid two months premiums and the poor thing got run down. Direct Line paid out and we made a profit on the policy. Not big or clever but a slim silver lining to a dark cloud.

Funny spot for it though, by the barrows. A forgotten reminder to Britain's part in the development of powered flight.

Did the construction of the A34 flatten any of the mounds, do we know?

Surely chocolate milk is a bit of protein and a lot of sugar? Great for the immediate feel good effect but wholly useless at getting you ready for another effort the next day.

It is serviced regularly but still reeks when it is fired up. Lessens after a bit but I think the stale water theory probably holds the most weight if it is not draining properly.

Fair play to you. My folks are wardens in the Northumberland National Park and trail bikes are now banned in most of that area. When wardens address the matter to the riders they basically get told to get stuffed. They are quickly realising that the only way to get action will be to involve the Police and start confiscating the offending bikes.

Buddy of mine was followed by police travelling to Fort Bill doing 120mph for a sustained period. He got 6 points and a £400 fine. Not sure that speeding is being treated as seriously as it might be.

    Congratulations to you both.

My better half packed it in at about 5 months as her tummy was getting in the way. Take it VERY easy though.

All the best for the months ahead.

Mine got to my house a day before our shop copies arrived. I believe delivery time differ depending upon what point in the week the mags are ready and when they get picked up by the distribution agents for shops versus our houses. Just one of those things but annoying sometimes.

Well that is that more-or-less cleared up then. I suppose that, as the crow flies, it is not all that far.

Based on a pound of lamb mince.

Lamb mince, two egg yolks, 50g breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, teaspoon tomato puree, teaspoon chopped garlic, two lamb stock cubes, add herbs to your taste.

Mix it all up and split it into four decent sized patties. Flour the outsides and pop them in the fridge to settle. Grill or fry, as you like it.

    How about Bontrager cranks?

Truvativ manufactured so the axle is wrong for this system.

    mtbfix
    Full Member

The axle thing makes naff all difference- the whole of the axle has to go through the BB as both sides are the same diameter. The importer is talking rubbish.

Just heeding the advice I am given by those in the know. If you have the Excentriker and know otherwise then that would be a help and would increase the options.

I have similar polished M952 cranks on the bike at present. Shiny stuff does look great.

Looking at the tech stuff for the E-Bones they appear to use a larger than normal axle. There goes that idea. Not sure about Campag. compatibility.

why won't RF ones work? They'r 2-piece like everything else

Importer tells me that the axle has to be attached to the right crank. RF use the left crank to hold the axle and the drive side bolts to that.
