I've been on Orange for a loooong time, with the same number.
    It starts 077………..

My wife is on Orange too, guess what, her number starts with 077 too.

It looks like Operators use more than one prefix then…

I've just finished uninstalling FO3 on my PC.

Brilliant game, but I packed it with so many different mods to improve and add stuff that it got to the point where it would crash every half hour or so. I couldn't be bothered to run through all the mods one by one to see which combination cuased it so I thought **** it.

Will probably reinstall it in a few weeks though.
Going to waste my time on a massively modded Dawn Of War 2 instead….

The only charity to get cash off me is the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
It saves lives, and I feel it is money well earned by them, especially having had the unlucky opportunity to have a flight in one a couple of years ago, without which, I'd probably a lot worse off now than I actually am.

Would we, the UK get massive amounts of aid from countries should we get a situation like what's happening in Pakistan? I don't think so. Look closer to home folks!

The Red Arrows are crowd pullers wherever they go worldwide, and I also personally believe they are the best aerobatics display team in the world. They are ambassadors for the Royal Air Force, and even more so for UK Aviation, a lot of aircraft and equipment sales are generated off the backs of Red Arrows visits to other countries.

Also, there is quite a bit of behind the scenes work done by the team. You all probably don't know that this year is the 150th anniversary of Cadet Organizations in the United Kingdom. As part of this, a number of Army, Navy, ATC and CCF Cadets were given a Red Arrows visit, and a lucky few Cadets were given the opportunity to fly with them in the Flypast of Buckingham Palace during the Anniversary Parade. To me, the red Arrows giving once in a lifetime opportunities like that is worth the price alone!

There are certain things at airshows which a crowd stopppers – one of those is the Red Arrows, as soon as they start their display, all eyes are turned skywards.
The same happened at Waddington earlier this year, but I must admit, I enjoyed these guys more….

They're brilliant budget forks paired to the right bike.
I slapped a pair on a Giant Faith (now for sale in the classifieds hint hint) and it transformed it from a so so ride to something that just gobbled up bumps and drops in its path. They look big, and are a touch weighty but you soon forget that when you realize how good they work when hitting the rough stuff at speed.

I'll start with Del Amitri (yes I know, but I used to love them in the 90's!)

I can't recall the last time I heard and of their songs on the radio or on the music TV channels. They seem to have been wiped of the musical landscape.

You obviously don't listen to the garbage that is Minster FM then. They seem to have the market cornered in playing out of date stuff.

    Orange MsIsle.
Lovely little bike and it was great fun to ride, especially at speed on twisty singletrack. It helped a lot in building my confidence up as it was such a bombproof machine.
Still got the frame in the shed, would love to build it back up one day….

I was lucky enough to have a play on some of the Ghost models at the Dalby World Cup Round and was very impressed with their build quality and ride. I just have that nagging doubt in the back of my head re RST forks.

Who else sells them other than CRC?

I see lots of people riding without helmets in the forest. The only area that's tight on helmet wearing is Dixons Hollow, but out on the trails it seems to be rider choice. What can FE do anyway? Sit a Ranger on every trail start/intersection with a fireroad? They can ask you to wear one, but then that covers their back in court if you don't and smash your head open on a rock and try to sue them.

It's not compulsory to wear one, but I always do for peace of mind, as it's quite rocky and headbutting a tree if you go wrong in certain areas is possible.

Anyhoo, let's not start the great helmet debate again…..

It turned out to be one of the elements in our immersion heater.

If they use routes away from the main airshow routes, then they'll only have to put up with local traffic. If you're based far enough away from the airfield, traffic might not be too much of an issue. Work out where the airshow routes will be in advance, and plan accordingly for least hassle.

We took some of our Squadron's Cadets on Saturday from Yorkshire – even with using a quick route in due to local knowledge it took us a good 3 hours for the inbound journey. We left after the BBMF dogfight display and managed to get back home in a little under 2 hours. It was a lot easier getting out to be fair.

On the main issue of noise, I didn't think it was too bad, but ear defenders for kids are a must. Other than jets pointing their burners at you, you need to be prepared for any role demonstrations that use explosions to effect, such as the Tornado role demo on the Saturday.

Other than that, go with an open mind, and enjoy the show!
Highlight for me was the Turkish Stars, the commentary was just brilliant!

I hate you all! No beer/wine/cider drinking for me – I have 20 Cadets to put through the RAF physical Training syllabus tonight.

Then I might have a beer when I get home! 😆

I didn't notice that, as it still plays for me as I paid for the dh coverage. They'll probably get round to sorting it after the next round knowing them. 😕

There is a campsite in Rosedale itself. Nearby is the Coach House pub which is okay, there used to be a few others, but they're currently closed due to going into administration. If you're lucky, the White Horse Farm pub might be open again if the syndicate wanting to take it on gets the go ahead.

God yes, I hardly watch the thing anyway, as its usually churning out whatever is on CBeebies for my 2 year old to get excited about. I'd still have a big screen for the Wii and watching DVDs though.

Trailbuilding in Dalby, started a new pump track at Dixons Hollow. That was between a play about on certain sections of the World Cup loop. Bloody hard riding, especially as my XC bike is awaiting new pads and rotors, so I rode the big 8" travel Giant Faith. Managed to ride a few of the ups, but the downs were fantastic, especially the boardwalk/rock step descent and Medusa's Drop. Not so good….. was unable to carry enough speed into Worry Gill drop so had to bail out, the Medusa complex climb is impossible, it was hard enough to push up it, but then again I doubt I'd get up it on my XC bike….
I still finished the day with a massive grin on my face though 🙂

Pump track building at Dixons Hollow in Dalby tomorrow. Unsure as to riding as I'd have to take the 8" monster bike instead of my hardtail as it's currently without rotors or pads. Don't think I'd enjoy much of the WC circuit on the big bike. I might take it up and see how many disapproving glances and tuts I get whilst playing on some of the red 😆

Is there any sponsors doing promo codes? The mens XC was the same and Scott were doing promo codes to watch it for nowt. I would expect that the same would happen with the DH. The 4X is still free though…

The World Cup course uses some parts of the existing red and black, and a few new sections as well, which have been signposted and merged into the red and black routes after Dixons Hollow. It'll be open to ride whenever unless there's a race or trail maintenance going on.

King Of shaves £4.99 for 4 at my local Boots – and I get a much better shave and a lot more life out of them than I did from the old Gillettes I used to use.

Gillette can wave goodbye to having a presence in my bathroom..
