I’ve recently migrated to Stream from Q because I didn’t want the dish or the wiring.

It’s still buggy, sometimes requiring a box reset.

The interface is quite different to Q. I used to like seeing the latest stuff I’d recorded in chronological order, byt that’s not possible any more. There’s personalised playlists so I don’t have other people’s preferences polluting my preferences.

Mine is hard wired to a 100mbps connection and I don’t see any buffering. A 4k stream is 25mbps I think, so 2 people watching HD content at the same time will struggle

I’m sure they’ll sort the teething problems out in time and add features to hopefully make it look a bit more like Q.

@supersessions9-2 I’ve just installed similar whilst adding to and renovating  a 1965 cavity walled house. So far in the part of the house that is built to current building regs the heat pump works fine, not seen it pull more than 6kw. The second part of the renovation is to do the original house which will need interior wall insulation and careful attention to draught proofing.

We have underfloor downstairs only. The upstairs rads don’t seem overly large to my eyes.

Our sunamp is not charged from the 10kw ASHP, just from electricity. I need to sort out being on a different tariff for the winter as in the summer the 6kw west facing solar takes care of the sunamp and the other water tank.

I’m not sure if the position of the ASHP makes a difference. Ours is on the north facing side of the house and never gets any real sunlight on it.

We had an engineer do a set of calculations to size the heat pump which gives me confidence that it’s not undersized as long as I follow the renovation plan.

The cable is different for the aftersockz mp3 player headphones, it’s more like an enclosure

I got the husqvarna 105 base model mowing a 25 x 25 lawn. It’s a massive time saver for me and also I don’t have the space and servicing hassle of a ride on. Went for husqvarna for the longevity of spare parts.

We did one in a loft extension where space was limited. It was a nightmare to use, spray got everywhere. It didn’t leak, but I wouldn’t do it again

Surely, this insurance criteria also applies to everyone else also working in the same kind of role ?

Or are you being singled out ?

We’ve got a wheel-on trainer and just swap bikes over. Takes a minute or 2 and there’s a hook on the wall for the bike that’s not on the turbo.

I bought my son a £10 pay monthly Vodafone SIM. After a £150 bill I realised that Vodafone sent the notification that he had breached his data limits and was being charged to his phone, not the bill payers number (mine).

We used to have one in the house we just moved out of. I really do miss it. It will be the first thing on the list for the new kitchen

I had mine out a few years ago.

As a general rule, keep it low fat.

I’m actually moving house in a couple of months, so I’ll cancel and then get a new contract in my wife’s name at the new address as they don’t seem to want to do a deal.

Maybe the threat of cancellation may bring a different attitude

I wanted to drop Sports and boxsets, but the special price is still more than a deal for a new subscriber

I have some of those Solwise AV2 ones. Generally, they’re pretty good. I have crappy electrics in the house and I can get 75Mbps in my office from a 100Mbps connection. The wifi one isn’t very good from a wifi perspective, but it’s OK when it’s wired.

Where they plug into my router, there’s an electrical noise problem, so I have an ethernet cable across the living room to put the homeplug in a different corner of the room and it’s fine (kind of defeats the object, but I’m not moving the TV and AV kit)

I don’t do gaming, so can’t comment on latency.

In my experience it depends on the construction. My rafters are air dried and the purlins and ridge are green oak from a reputable source

    I’ve had my 2010 530d for 5 years now.

They’re wide, not massively wide that it causes a problem, but you will notice it. The turning circle is not so great either. Mines been through an airbag, and a diesel pre-heater unit (I think). I don’t do motorways that often and the combined MPG is 38-ish

Lovely car, comfortable, not thinking of getting rid of mine anytime soon.

Not got one for the MTB yet, not sure why.

I’ve got the updated Solwise adapters that use the earth pin as well. Does 100 download and 27 upload on a 100/100 connection

    I’ve got a 2010 F11 530d SE. Tyre wear is bad and I don’t even rag it.

One of the suspension airbags went at about 50K. BMW recommend to replace both at the same time. £600.

3 litre engine is alot nicer than the 2 litre, but it does drink the fuel. Mostly rural driving gets me ~37mpg.

Mine goes to a local indie for servicing.

    Edit:
Used to have a 1993 525ix. Lovely engine. Thought about a petrol ?

Just got Gigaclear installed. 8ms ping with 200Mbps up and down

I’ve got it as a neighbour gave me a friends and family voucher, so it was just the cost of the install. I only have the single box

You can download recordings to a tablet to watch offline.

You can record more stuff at the same time (I think 4)

There’s a picture in picture preview of the channel you’re thinking about changing to (on the old sky box, you used the up arrow button to see what was on the channels around your current one, that now has a tiny preview)

The red button stuff on BBC sometimes seems to make the box hang and require a reboot

There isn’t a “+24 hours” button on the Programme guide which whilst it doesn’t sound too bad, is quite annoying.

I wouldn’t be paying Sky an additional £12/month for it

I’ve got a Dengfu one. Had it for a couple of years and it seems fine but it’s only been used on the road.

There is something rattling around inside it now which I need to get out.

The wheels from LB were a disaster though. 100% failure.

Search for “gap funding” on the Open reach website. That way, as a community you subsidise the unprofitable part of FTTH.

Gigaclear are just digging in my village so we avoided any of this

I was in Leisure Lakes Cheltenham on Sunday and they had a couple of 2017 T-130’s.

I bought the RS Alloy, so there’s only 1 left. Not sure on spec/size but it had a Yari fork.
