That is exactly the same Bike I bought a couple of weeks ago. It is even the same colour.

    Enjoy.

As of a week ago everyone renting a boat in Greece needs a Day Skipper ticket. Has caused chaos for Sailing Holidays, as we were due out in May and so have had to find a way to quickly get qualified so as to not derail the family holiday

deffo a tough one. I enjoyed the relatively gentle intro, which was a saviour as for letting my dinner settle, but then lack of attention at the sprint meant I lost the front group (and Paul). Once on the climb though I settled into just trying to keep my numbers high which went really well until the last 200 metres when cramp kicked in.

I am not racing tonight as I am ice climbing in Cogne, have fun all.

Paul I’ll be back to trying to beat you next week. Maybe my handicap will improve!

Robbo, I think you have the results wrong. Paul beat me by enough to win the handicap race.

Thanks robbo, another good one. First third I didn’t think I would make it, but once the elastic snapped got in with a good group and enjoyed the last third.

Completely messed up the finish, I think must have got burrito’d or everyone was just too fast.

That was a really tough one, I was determined to try and stay with Paul S, but lost contact on the climb. I got in with a good group and at one point we were only 6 seconds behind ‘the Paul’ group in front but they kept pulling a way. I enjoyed their banter of take a turn, I can’t I am dying.

I can’t believe I have won one, the joys of a handicap system and everybody else getting fitter!

this is our last day of five skiing in Austria (Badhofgastein) and it has been really good. Plenty of snow, a little springy at times and some low vis, but overall pretty good. The whole mountain is treated as 2g and so we have only had to show covid passes once despite coffee, lunch and apres stops every day.

ski lifts are a 100% compliance on ffp2 mask wearing but you soon figure out a way to make it work.

The Tracer is my first big bike, in fact only bike so don’t have a lot of experience, but it’s been great. I have done a four day tour around Wales on it, evening back roads in the summer and commuting to work in the dark and wet and it has coped with it all perfectly.

I plan to get something bigger and more advanced (tiger 900, maybe the new Transalp if it looks good etc) next year, but that is mainly because I can rather than any problems with the Tracer.

I passed almost a year ago today. Bought a bike in March (Tracer 700) and have been really enjoying it. Even commuted into Sheffield from the Peak in the dark and wet today. Sheffield bus lanes are very useful for speeding up a commute and free motorbike parking!

@Paul-S it was a flu jab yesterday not computer issues that got me. Been feeling a bit under the weather all day but decided to warm up and give it a go, but two minutes in realised it wasn’t the best idea so stopped.

I am also local and it will never happen, because it doesn’t in reality connect anywhere! A train on the Monsal Trail itself between Bakewell and Buxton doesn’t connect to the villages on route, Tidza, Taddington etc. The only one it hits is Miller’s Dale and at push Great Longstone.

Bakewell has no train line and Buxton is the end of a long slow line from Manchester. So on paper yes it would connect Bakewell to Manchester but via a circa 1 1/2 hour slow Journey. Not something that is going to be in demand for commuters. For people living around the Monsal Trail a bus is going to be a lot more effective.

Well following scaredypants post I just went down the rabbit hole of intervals.icu. Not sure I understand any of it but it tells me my eFTP has gone up to 233 for the next race.

That was hard. First race was brilliant, probably my best yet helped by some really good powerups, two feathers and an aero. 😀

Second race was tough, I thought I had blown it in the first 10 secs as I could not get my legs to put out any power, but then I looked up and it was a rolling start. I then got so use to the pace that when the fast boys finally put the hammer down I was asleep at the back. Just managed to get back on and stay with big blob but finished last in the sprint.

    great work again Robbo.

Thanks all. enjoyed the first one, got in a good group that pulled me a long after being dropped by a faster one. 2nd was an 8k solo ride after getting dropped at the start.

Well that was tough. I got in with a good group that was a bit too fast for me and got dragged all the way round, mainly by K Allen, so thanks! Finished last in the blob sprint by some way.

I passed my test in December and picked up a second hand tracer 700 and it has been great.

Well I won’t be zwifting my seat post just snapped on the warm up! Resulting in a somersault of the back of the bike.

Elm pits (Narnia) used to be ace (last 10 years or so), always looked really muddy at the start but was surprisingly rideable and as soon as you got to the trees (watch for camping scallies) it was a lovely dry pine needle ascent. Since the improvement work all the pine needles have been churned away and now it is muddy all the way up!

Not sure why, probably just more traffic because it looks more inviting at the start.

However both elm and SB are easily rideable and the sensible route back from the beast or hagg.

Great race. Good group circa 20 to 30, could almost get away on the leg breaker but they were so fast on the flat.

Loved it. First race that I have not been dropped in the first km and then managed to hang with the Euain, robbo, chipps and many others group all the way to the hill although it basically killed me.

And a 1 watt ftp increase!

I am more worried about what I will do next week than tonight’s race. When does series 4 start?

    msjhes2

Robbo I have gone up to 241.

It was trolo almost getting away that prompted me to make sure I was at the front on the climb.

    msjhes2

Certainly for me I was increasing the power on the climb to be near the front ready for a break to form as I was hoping the group would split on the later laps as I know I don’t have enough power to win the sprints.

But I think the biggest split was 2 secs so never really worked.

I made my own rocker and it was pretty easy. There is a facebook group DIY rocker plates and it has all the info you need. I went with a linear bearings? £50 ish of the internet, which gives fore/aft and side to side movement, two kids inflatable golf balls from decathlon and some left over ply. Only tool needed was a jigsaw to cut the ply and a drill.

I have found it has made a big difference to comfort.

That was brilliant. Got the wrong side of the first split through not paying attention, but them managed to get some great pulls around the course between groups, thanks Neil for first half and Martin for the second.

Martin loved the vanishing act. I was impressed it put you back in exactly the same position with me wheel sucking.

That was tough. Robbo Zwift has upped my power again to 235. The series is certainly teaching me how to suffer properly.
