The lap is the better bike. Get the zesty and swap the forks out for some 160 Pikes.

Personally, I think bikes where the top of the seat tube is lower than the top of the wheel just look very wrong.

I don’t get the road bike comparison. Road bikes have little tires and ths overall wheel size is the same size as a 26″ mountain bike wheel with it’s larger tire.

£80 is a bit different to a tenner. Somebody asked me what my best price on a top was the other week, it was already half price.

Not being snobby, and in my experience its the less cash rich LBS that have to offer the best customer service etc to stay afloat.

Fair enough. I am just not keen on the big chain stores when there are still good and honest bike shops knocking about. I gues it depends where you live and whats available to you.

Am I the only one wondering why anybody would buy a bike from Halfords in the first place?

Whilst riding Nanbield the other day I noticed lots more sissy lines through the grass next to the beautiful rocky singletrack. I dont get it, wheres the fun in that?

Anything with a suspension design that works better than a single pivot. I am riding an inbred which is about 8 years old now. Its not “the best ride” and I dont have any photos of it in my back garden or leaning against something on top of a mountain, I stopped doing that about twenty years ago.

What I should of said is, it doesent matter what size wheel it has, you can’t polish a turd.

You would be best of selling the Five and buying a better bike.

Well I ride cross country and live in the lakes so does that mean I ride all mountain? But I like riding up mountains and then across them and down them so maybe its enduro. Any way the riding on my doorstep is far from dull.

I must be lankey enough to leave my post in a good peadling position and have never found it to be a compromise.

OK so trolling a little, but a luddite I am not. Disc brakes, Susspension, bigger dia bar clamps/bars, tappered headsets, through axles, tubeless tires, long top tubes matched to short stems, different wheel sizes and all that I get. I even kind of get dropper posts, I wont be buying one though and was just asking who else gets on with out adjusting saddle height.

After a while you clip in and out with out giving it any thought. Musscle memory type thing goes on.

Problem with enduro bikes is that you can only ride it at enduro races/events. What if you want to ride all over a mountain, or down a hill or across some countrysides?

R2 is a great light. I also use a light called a flare on my backpack for road sections.

Or you could get one from your local bike shop.
