Just asked my mate who works there. I’ll come back to you when/if he replies.

Wow! Well done Martha! I remember her as a (very talented) little kid doing xc races in the Bolton area many years ago. She’s also quite an accomplished pianist too I seem to remember.

Went to Onyx wall at Blackburn again and took my son in law who hasn’t really done much climbing. He loved it and was a natural so I got some vicarious pleasure from his enthusiasm. The visit also reminded me of the limitations of my rapidly degenerating aged body. I’m pretty broken and sore today.

Hopefully the weather will improve seen and we can have a play outdoors soon. Nothing to the level of some folk on here but maybe Cadshaw Rocks.

Nearest one to me is a 3.5 hours drive. Nice idea but I’ll pass.

You are better looking at it than looking for it, as they say. If you are doing proper runs in proper places then you need to carry some gear.

When I was training for my Joss Naylor Challenge I got one of these cheap and cheerful jobbers:

was out with a riding mate last week who assured me that within a decade we’d all be living in isolated ghettos (he also thinks a trump win would be for the best.)

Ever considered getting a new riding mate?

I think I’ve phrased this badly. I have access to A LOT of offcuts of this stuff. I want offload LOTS of it in large amounts (van fulls) for a nominal amount to someone who can use them as cleaning products or whatever.

Uma Thurman’s nosebleed in Pulp Fiction wasn’t fatal.

Well, it was. Just not permanently so.

You mean that you haven’t watched ‘Episode II – Attack of the Flopsy Bunnies’ or ‘Episode V – Mrs Tiggy Winkle strikes back’??!!

Went to Onyx climbing wall, Blackburn for a couple of hours last night as mentioned. I’m waaay out of practice so my arm muscles are letting me know about it this morning. It’s a nice, friendly little place so I’d recommend it to any locals. https://www.onyxclimbing.co.uk/

I’m going to Onyx climbing wall in Blackburn tonight. This will be only my second trip to a climbing wall in the last 4 years or so. I’m going to cry like a baby tomorrow on the ride into work tomorrow…

This also isn’t really worthy of inclusion in the magazine so I’ll just post it here:

At the first Keilder 100 event before the start we were all kettled into a small area in front of the castle before we set off. From memory the start was delayed a while and the midges must have thought it was Christmas! It was horrendous and we were just trapped there. Honestly, by the time we set off the majority of people were just skellingtons… I still have nightmares.

There are several nest sites near our caravan in the Lakes. We go to see them (at a distance via bins or the nest cam) at Foulshaw Moss. Last year there was a pair flying above the estuary a couple of 100 yards from our door. Which was pretty cool. Also seen one take a fish whist I was sitting in my arm chair gazing out of the window!

Probably won’t be doing it as I hardly ever ride off road these days but I’d like to wish you the best of luck with it. I had done the event several times over the years and always enjoyed it.

Good point about the boot lid. One of the dogs is starting to struggle getting in the Jazz.

95% of the time it will be my wife doing short local runs then most weekends we’ll be heading up to the Lakes (1 1/2 hrs on M6) but we are also going to France with the dogs and a weeks worth of luggage later in the year, as a one off.

Fair point. We want an improvement on the storage capacity of the Jazz so how do I tell if that’s what we would be getting with the Fabia?

    MrSparkle

Is the Fabia estate much bigger than a Jazz?

    Jazz boot = 354L. Fabia boot = 530L

I see that my MP who was last heard from moaning about how early Easter eggs were in the shops, has now jumped on the populist bandwagon. I’d hazard a guess that the **** has never been to a footy match in his life but he’s SUCH a man of the people. Or desperate for anybody to vote for him…
