Yeah, I did it in ’07 as well. I found it a bit mixed on the atmosphere front, mainly down to me. I had good crack with quite a few and at other times I just had my head down and was going for it! Excellent event.
I’m from Bolton and moved a couple of miles up the road to Darwen and the change in accent is really pronounced. The locals say stuff like ‘Marrrs barr’ and ‘plaaaaster’
Heh, don’t think I’d get away wi’ that, pal. I’m hoping to get up early and have a quick whizz round on the cross bike before we set off though!
Thanks to all responders.
Yeah i get it pretty bad. Work related. When it’s bad it’s BAD. can’t rest on the point of my elbows and even wince if I’ve got a seam in a shirt that rubs on it. FWIW I ride SS too and just put up with it. Maybe it helps(??) that I get more pain from my dodgy knee and that takes my mind off it. My GP is sh1t though so I tend to just MTFU, these days.
Nicked one of the girl’s hair bands and wrapped cotton wool round it. Perfick!
On the way back somebody shouted ‘Well done, Vicar!’
I said ‘VICAR?? PRIEST!! DRINK!!’
Hmm, might experiment with the tights thing. I might be able to have some cotton wool underneath and pull it through some holes p’raps… If that fails I might try doubling over some gaffer tape and sticking the cotton wool to that. It might last part way up the first climb… ;0)
As long as it’s alright when I set off I’m not too bothered!
‘Babbies heads’ are steak puddings. Bit of as regional one, that, as they don’t say it up here.
Thanks for that. Some decent ideas there.
Hopefully there should be a video out eventually – here’s last years. Being a Dalmation was a LOT easier! ;0) <http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RCqTBBETCx0>
