Not done it for a couple of years but they did a different course every year and it was always good. Recommended. What date is it this year? bet it clashes with something I’m already doin’.
I will probably be shot down in flames for this but would it not have made more sense to have had the race on the Saturday if there is drinking involved? We could have then carried on into the night, woke up hung over, had a bit of a ‘recovery ride’ on Sunday morning and driven home in the afternoon.
Cheers retrorick, any chance of sending them to simonATsoundreductionDOTcoDotuk (can’t access my email from wife’s laptop – to coin a phrase!)
Multo grazi!
It was me on the red Voodoo. I run 32:16 and flippin’ heck was it hard! Had a nice race with the other two SSers. The guy on the Genesis was a bit handy! anyway, what a beltin’ course and a lovely day for it. I am still cream crackered now.Kudos to the organisers and good to meet some nice people.
I would imagine that there’s a water station. If so grab a cup and (here’s the clever bit)pinch the top together so that it doesn’t slop all over the place while you are having a drink. you’ll be amazed how many people grab a cup, slop a load of water all over themselves, nearly drown and then throw 80% of it away.
PS good luck beating the brother in law.
I did it once. Found it really tough and I was quite fit then. Think it was the altitude that did me. Terrahawk found it a piece of the proverbial and flew round. Hell of an experience though. We flew from Liverpool to Geneva and hired a car there. We had digs at the Chalet Heidi which is just down the hill from main bit of Verbier and very nice it was too!
A mate had one. I always thought it looked ‘right’. Unfortunately he had nowt but trouble with it. Bearings going, original fork died, shock packed up. Wasn’t lack of maintenance as he always took it to be serviced regularly. Having said that maybe he just got a ‘lemon’. I think I would have one if the price was right.
