I have been on a few of their rides without joining. I think most clubs of any sort will let you have a ‘taster’ before you have to join. Give it a go, you never know you might like it!

I have ridden a certain pink and purple one that may belong to a certain editor of a certain magazine. It was very nice but total overkill for where we were riding. HTH.

One of the important bits of this thread is the Cycle to Work Scheme bit. I need it to be a bike stocked by a participating company, y’see.

Sadly I will be flying completely solo at Mayhem so no sous chef for me! Mmm, congealed cheeseburger, now that does sound good! But, yes, fairly bland, easily digestible stuff seems to be the best option. Might be daring and get some custard creams too.

Yeah, it’s ace! Taken my lad to quite a few over the years. A few months ago we both went to see Soulfly and he went off to the circle pit on his own. I was so proud…

I certainly hope so! He should be well into his college course by then so he might be able to do it as a ‘project’.

Thanks all. I think he’s done a good job too. He’s only just turned 16 so he appreciates any feedback.

    Just found this:

To make the perfect isotonic drink, mix 500ml of fruit juice with 500ml of water and 0.5g (one eighth of a teaspoon) of salt, or 200ml of squash (organic or without artificial sweeteners and additives) with 800ml of water and 0.5g (one eighth of a teaspoon) of salt. Both these options make one litre of isotonic drink, and contain around 6g of carbohydrate per 100ml – the ideal concentration for rapid fluid absorption. Adding a little salt (sodium) encourages you to drink more during a run and helps your body to retain, rather than excrete, fluid when you stop exercising.

Hasn’t it? I have particularly enjoyed the ‘slo-mo’ shots showing how tyres and suspension behave in bends @ 140mph. Stunning.

I had a big Mojo loss after burning out doing the Cristalp and then having a knee injury. Must have been about 18 months of not really enjoying it, had a few false starts but it kind of fizzled out. Recently I have started getting it back. keep the faith. Patience and some good riding mates are the only answer. Bon chance, mon ami.

Hey Mr Cat! Thought you didn’t come on here often? It was a pleasure to meet you, pal. Hopefully we will bump into each other again sometime and I will get you that pint back. And a packet of crisps. And some jaffa cakes!
Sounds like you were better off at Dalby than back on the island going off the weather.
