look at this and tell me how many years you think it will take for the house you buy now to get back to the price you pay today after it keeps on falling in value.

“when prices are OTT and unjustified”
but they aren’t. i happen to know the person who sits there and works out the shimano prices and the margin they need to make, unlike a lot of importers they will drop the prices when/if the pound/yen changes.

if you want somebody to blame it’s the people wanting to buy bling bling xtr level bikes, cars and houses with cheap easy credit and the banks that gave it to them.

i had it for a while got to the stage that each time it happened meant 2-3 weeks before i could cycle again. try doing different stretches that work on your glutes and lower back. if i stick to a stretching regime it doesn’t come back. i’m guessing that what happens with you is that as you cycle more and your muscles get bigger they tighten everything up again (armchair pysio theory)
while stretching i use my thumb to massage the backs of my thighs and i can feel everything loosen up. i guess i’m too tight to pay for a sports massage but i have been ITB pain free for about a year.

but being smooth up a MTB climb to avoid wheelspin has nothing to do with riding on the flat or undulating road. if anything it’s the opposite, as on the MTB you are just dropping the power at the right moment to prevent slipping.

all elite riders spin at a higher cadence it’s more efficient, 90% of mtb’ers when riding along and up push to hard a gear.

hora get the slopestyle. it’s all the bike you will ever need.

    MrSmith

Oh, it’s been shown that elite MTBers have the best pedalling technique so again MTBing should have you already spinning those pedals properly.

well if they are elite then most of their training will be done on the road, if you want to improve your cadence and souplesse then riding fixed on the track or road will do this. mashing a MTB will not.

i think you have to notify your mortgage provider (if you have one) as letting the house effectively means you need a BTL mortgage.

Hora, maybe just maybe he has a problem with uncontrolled dogs worrying sheep at lambing time? i’t’s an outrageous concept but you never know it might just be true.

as for cows. they surround small dogs and trample them. about every 1-2 years an pensioner is killed by cows when they and their yappy little dog get surrounded and trampled.

    for example

Mr Smith, A fox shoot! What a waste, get after them with a pack of hounds.

hounds are inefficient, shooting them at night with a lamp is the best.

You don’t even know me. Presumptious Dickhead.

i guess your ‘northern’ and a bit of a ‘hardman’ then?
i’m excited and a little bit hard for you.

Can’t threaten Foxes can he? Foxes can’t read. Me thinks in part its right of access and someone waving a stick subconsciously at people who have a right of way.. “

hora why don’t you have a day off from being thick?
farmers will shoot foxes but will not bother warning them first and uncontrolled dogs are a real problem, that’s why it’s legal to shoot them.

i know a 88 year old farmer (female) who’s livelihood depends on the amount of sheep she rears. losing lambs costs money which is why i am attending a fox shoot on her farm at the weekend.

she postponed her hip operation so that it didn’t clash with lambing, she makes all you northern hardmen look like the mummies boys you really are.

Summer Season will probably be similar to your Alpine.

head angle is 68.5* on the alpine 66.5 on the on-one, seat angle is a degree steeper on the alpine. with the same fork on i would imagine they would ride different.

*presuming this measurement is with a 5in fork?

do you think that the nu-labour policy of using tax-payers money to prop up the over inflated property market to appease voters in the short term and hopefully win an election will benefit this country in the long term?

    or

how long do you think it will take this country to pay back the trillion £’s borrowed to bail out banks and failing businesses, and how long after that do you think this country will have a budget surplus?

MMW is right. haven’t mentioned ohms though as this IIRC halves the value ie 40w into 8ohm is 20w into 4 (or is it 16?)
40w driving a horn loaded 105db for 1watt at 1 meters sensitive speaker will fill the room but will not if it has to drive a 86db/1w/1m richer sounds special.

Referring to an earlier post that mentioned it’s no-ones business what an individual earns and it’s a taboo subject, it doesn’t bother me if ‘people’, and I use the term loosely since it’s a virtual world, on here know what I earn. I don’t know anyone on here so why on earth would it bother me if they know. I can understand that if I was friends with folks from here, but I’m not so it doesn’t matter. It’s all virtual i’nit.

even more so in the real world. i socialise with all sorts of people from different backgrounds with vastly different salaries, their paypacket has no bearing on me being mates with them, if anything it’s the ones who measure themselves in consuming and possessions that i’m less likely to want to socialise with. often it’s the ‘middle earners’ with aspirations who are the worst offenders. the lower and higher earners just want to get on and enjoy life instead of worrying what their neighbors think.

“What do you actually do though MrSmith?”
i work in the ‘creative industry’.

“Have been looking for ‘proof’ for a long time now?”

no. I can’t say it’s been a life long quest.

“What are you going to do now you’ve found it? “

    nothing.

what i earn is my business. degree educated (not that it’s a necessity for what i do) but i’m not a big consumer or somebody who’s motivated by the numbers at the bottom of a bank statement. in the past i have earned 3.5k a day this month i haven’t made 1/3 of that. wouldn’t change my job/life though as pretty much do what i like most of the time without any of that management bullcrap that office people have to deal with.

this thread is proof that MTB’ing is a middle class middle management sport though, the average wage in many parts of the country is way below the figures given.

“Mr Smith… here the report from the Charge Girl you mention that went to that roller race: CLICK do you think I should sack her?”

if she’s not generating enough income for the business then yes, but if you have to ask strangers on an internet forum about basic business decisions then maybe you should sack yourself?

    MrSmith

i can’t comment on their website as i have no need to look at it but at a recent roller race there were a couple of girls there who were apparently sponsored by charge bikes, only they put in rubbish times on the rollers and it was suggested that they were only sponsored because they were a bit of eye candy.
top work. we need to get back to heady days of dolly birds draping themselves across cars/bikes. marketing at it’s best.

People see it as a more ‘responsible’ way to salve their desire to shop/reward themselves for having to work? Promise yourself to get fit etc so it doesnt feel like an evil purchase in a recession? TOTALLY guessing mind!

coming from one of the most consumerist self appeasers in the western world with a litany of excuses and reasons for your next purchase (be it bike or car)
that’s possibly the funniest thing you have ever written on this forum.
