I might go back and try again. They kept turning me away in the past for having low iron levels, I’d only manage to donate about 1 in 3 visits.

Why can only men donate platelets?

all you in your 40s have no right on this thread!

My dad is nearly 75 and last October went on a walking holiday in the Atlas Mountains. They all refused to believe how old he is. Just hope I’ve got his genes.

Sorry to hear that MD. I was prescribed fluoxetine in about April / May last year. having gone down that route before while at uni, I decided to go for counselling instead and am glad I did so. Not saying there is anything wrong with taking drugs, just that I knew for me it would only be of short term help and that my problems were more caused by issues I needed to get my head around. It’s something to think about anyway.

Wishing you all the best (and sorry for the hijack omitn)

IIRC most of the site closed a while ago and the forum only kept going, but I suppose inevitably that has gone too now.

I agree with the get used to feeling hungry idea. About 10 years ago I was about a stone and a half heavier than I am now. I lost it very quickly by just eating less food.

I looked at what I was eating and realised that the portions were huge so I cut them down to about 2/3s. Yes I was hungry for a few weeks, but being hungry is ok really.

Yes, v good point onion ;) and omitn. I always think of myself as unfit becuase I am the slowest in the group that we ride with. However, friends who I have who do no regular excersize think I’m some super fit nutter who does "all those mountain bike events". their perception of me it totally different to my perception of myself.

Anyway – 2 miles to work. He needs to start walking that. Seems the most obvious way to easily incorporate a bit of exercise into his daily routine without disrupting things too much.

I thought the marshalling was rubbish – I noticed one of them nicked off immeditately the race finished ;)

Taxi, well done to her, she did really well – she obviously had a lot of supporters in the crowd as well, she was getting a lot of cheers.

Have to say, the mens race was a fantastic watch, thoroughly enjoyed it.

not quite staunch enough to follow the no sex before marriage bit then?

But the 25-year-old from Portsmouth is reported to be a staunch Catholic who is opposed to abortion.

Ms Chamberlain decided against this after talking over the matter with partner Mike Pedace, 32

You don’t have to change your name just because you get married you know.

No idea whether or not they are married, but that quote doesn’t tell you they’re not.

I’ve never ridden my bike off road on my own, I’m a big wuss. I’ll happily go out on my road bike alone, but haven’t done on the mtb.

I met GF at uni in October 93 and soon realised if I didn’t try mountain biking then I wouldn’t actually see that much of him, so easter 94 I bought (or rather persuaded my dad to buy me) a 2nd hand Kona Explosif.
