I've had my u-turn lyrics since the year they came out. Soon after I got them they developed nasty play so they were sent off to Fishers to get rebuilt. Got them back and they developed play almost instantly although not as bad as the first time. As I just wanted to use them I left them and always said I would buy 36s when they died.

…they never did die. At the start of this year I sent them to TF and they did their service, inspected bushes, wiper seal mod. They report the forks as A1 condition and they still had a bit of play in them. I have had a couple of odd rides when they felt like they had killed the bushes so put them back to TF who said they were mint. This may have been headset etc as I am never convinced my headset is that happy (CK on an 06 enduro has had a few funny reports about sizing and design).

Forks are still going strong and have little stiction. I agree with Geetee – I do not notice the play when riding.

Enduro with DHX air. Does everything it needs to and the propedal works pretty well. When tanking down semi rough stuff it just seems to get lost and feels as if the damper is doing something odd as if cycling the damper circuit. It is not bad enough to cause any real riding issue but you are left looking stupid at the side of the trail looking for the rear puncture that does not exist.

Change to coil vanilla R tuned for me. Not as good as the DHX if stamping on the pedals without thinking about it when standing up. However it is much better through the rough stuff and rebound control is perfect for me and never unsettles me. Zero feeling of punctured rear tyre and tons and tons of traction.

I love GT and the work people put in to keep it one of the best centres in the UK.

When will the black part be open again and are ALL the trails that were in there still there?

JON – Don't know if WE will have 2 cars yet, depends who comes along in the end?

Not actually sure what an epic distance is for the group.

Thank you for all the routes – going to look into them all a bit more.

TroutWrestler – what sort of distance and duration is that route?

Mcmoonter – I'll need a little more detail than just Torridon having never been there.

We call that run "punture alley" due to a mates riding style! 😆

Fingers crossed my frame goes soon as it seems be the only way to get a 2010 enduro frame alone!

I have a 8.75×2.75 coil on my bike. I have just removed the reducer and the shock cycles with no issue. I guess the BB height will be very low when it does bottom out so it will be a case of riding it to see if there is an issue. This is on the slack shuttle as I do not ride it on the other. I will also have to check it with a 2.5 tire on the back but the little plastic shock guard was on and it was not upset.

Specialized in the US were replacing stays with the SX one which has the extra plate and bolts straight on.

I went by 2 sets of walkers on that trail just over a month ago. A few tree tops down in it as well on the faster section in the trees.

Went up a week ago in amazing weather. Very fun DH. I managed to go over my bars and smash my front brake to bits 1/3 of the way down, the rest of the way was more 'fun'.

Saw a 2 foot adder on the trail and chased it to get a pic but it was in the undergrowth before my camera had started up! Lots of little lizards kicking about as well.

On my bike the coil(TFtuned vanR) is plusher with more traction than the dhx air. But on most UK trails the ultimate speed would come with the DHX air as it has more platform for pumping the pedals and ground.

I love the both for different reasons. The bike is pretty heavy anyway so weight/climbing differences do not mean that much as it is always a slog to the top.

I'm entered, never done one and am pish slow. Hoping for a good atmosphere and nervous tummy fun before each stage 🙂 Oh and to make it round in one piece!

Sorry for sounding V stupid. By self insuring you mean insure the home contents myself?
The issue I have is that my bike is kept at my mum's(I do not live there but she has storage space) and she does not want to mess about with her current insurance etc. She is a very stubborn lady, even when I say I will pay any uplift and part of her original amount.

Arrrghhh picture 2 "before" looked perfect! lol My wish would be to concentrate all efforts on the edge and build the drainage it really requires for being as exposed as it now is. And do something with the sloppy curry paste terrain that is now there. If people don't like the rocky bits on granny green love then pick up a few rocks on your way through and chuck them into the curry further on saving these lovely people work. 😉

I do however appreciate people’s efforts to improve things. Sometimes it can be hard to find time and motivation to ride bikes let alone working on trails in winter – deserves top respect.

Also looking fwd to the enduro but hope to god the edge will not be a part of it. It puts me off visiting Ae which I used to love for fast loose trails. I love the stanes and Ae is one of the closest but I will be travelling to others until the edge is sorted.

(Sorry for banging same negative drum)

Rode Inners red on Saturday and thought it was magic with the icey snow. Just hard enough to take a bikes weight and opened up a whole load of new lines up and down the hill. I took one excellent line about 5ft away from the trail off the moor and had to emergency hop a burn while laughing out loud.

Wondered who the huge group was – I passed you while you waiting just before heading along the fireroad to Caddon Bank.

I was looking at http://www.switch-backs.com which is also Sierra Nevada. I noticed that the height of riding available in April was nowhere near as much as June and wondered if you miss out on a lot in April? Bit pricey as well until you consider everything in it.

ahhh that could be an issue… maybe just hide in and around Mugdock until it dries out a bit! Does anyone know if revamp work has finished at Carron Valley?

Well that is my weekend planned. 🙂 Which direction (Clockwise/anti clockwise) is best as my browser is not letting me see the direction of points?

    Thank you for your help.
