I only blame myself for my results as I am too pussy to push myself. One of these days.

Grum – It’s a Spesh Enduro and easily too big for Mugdock lol.

Huge STW ego time  😆 – me and my friend Jon on here have no issue on the slats. Never seem my other mate Stu doing it but I can guess the outcome 😆

I like them as a feature.

Check out Inners mtb racing. They are maybe going to run another enduro towards the end of the year.

1-2-1 race at Hamsterly will also be good fun.

Which is flux again? Last time I was up some fannies had tried building kickers and berms on the beat up trail from the farmhouse with the funny motion activated lights down to the road between Carbeth and Strathblane. Was not pretty, hope they have not continued 🙁

fbk haha small world, now I remember where I knew you from after the guy lost his saddle etc! Did much better at this one but got beaten by a girl by 3 seconds overall. I blame Mr E – it would seem I never shouted pedal hard enough! 😆 Really good laugh on the course and Mr E is a half clipped enduro sensation.

Mr E, I’m guessing it was you that I rode round with as there could not be that many people that smashed their pedal to bits!

Agree on the great event although really liked the Ae course as well. Had an ace day and great chat round the course with with the guy who started in front of me.

Check your rotor and see if they are biting too far in on the disc and catching the inner supports of the disc? Mine did this so I put a little washer in to space the caliper and contact point slightly further out on the radius of the disc and got rid of odd warbbling noises.

Sanding pads works really well on glazed formula organic pads without using any fluids etc.

I thought that when I got it but for some reason the drivetrain has way outlasted the xt I have on another bike which is used much less. I never thought it would work that way. Both are washed and oiled just about every use. Both run duraace chains etc. Maybe I use the other bike in the mud more.

The prices on Actionsports are seriously sporty – must not buy other stuff I can not afford! 😆

My current xtr cassette is on it’s 4th season and has still not given me bother. My front rings are like ninja stars and v weak so probably going to replace it all with the same as it has lasted so well.

Probably can not get away with just doing front rings as the chain checker falls through the worn chain so everything is well bedded in… Would rather buy once and hope for the same lifespan with everything feeling lovely again.

Only did the Sunday but had an ace time.

Stage 4 – Fell in front of a girl, Stage 5 – Fell behind a girl, Stage 6 – rode like a girl (actually that is v unfair as they were showing me the way!)

    Great course and organisation.

Huge thanks to the rider that gave me Ibuprofen at the road crossing on stage 5. It kicked in nicely (probably mostly in the head) and allowed me to enjoy stage 6.

    Roll on the next one.

I just don’t trust the tyre – they are so light waiting to be sliced up. I have used TTs with tubes with no probs though so may be over negative but after slicing through a minion single ply I have re-thought my ideas.

Read above – compressor and yes! TT with the “unsealable” bead lol 😉
…however I would not trust it as a tubeless tyre if your going far…

Bash – I am on my 4th season with my current drivetrain. I doubt it would have lasted this long if it looked anything like my bash rings that I have used.

Could do normal minions, highroller LUST with just the track pump. Flow and Larsen TT with the “unsealable” bead took a compressor. Sealed and worked fine once it was up. I was always worried about splitting it as it is very light.
Tip of putting valve to the bottom and slightly pushing up on the bottom of the tyre to get it started is a good one, especially if it has a load of sealant holding it slightly low.

Can someone put up an rough idea of stages 4/5/6 as I probably won’t get there to get any practice in?

Looking forward to a fun wee day.

661 weekend is 3 days riding if you take the Friday off as the course is marked for the Friday and you can camp Friday and Sat. We rode all Friday as well as the sat and sun and had a great laugh.

Hels – More info please. I can only do one day and would love to head over. Which day is it going to be sunny? lol

    Lessons learnt:
Single ply minion running tubeless on rear = BANG!
Rubber grips become unstuck after a whole weekend in a monsoon

Stumpys usually do the DU bush with the rest of the bearings lasting pretty well. If you feel slight movement when you lift the saddle put your fingers over the bottom part of the shock and linkage and check if that is where the play is coming from. DU bush is a simple cheap fix, I do about one a year.

Another quick check is to undo your shock from the back end and feel the movement of the back end. Pretty obvious if there is a bush sticking etc.

I need 2 must do rides to fill 2 days. I will be based in St Gervais with my girlfriend in late August and riding on my own. Oh and I am not the best navigator. Less uphill riding the better.

Don’t get too cocky on the last left hand corkscrew on the board walk. DH bike, super tackys and I still manage a good sized 2 wheel slide before being ejected down the hill! 😮

Maybe it will be called the Gravity Sprint Series next year just for you .

It’s not just 17mins of racing though. It was a class weekend, hell I only raced for 10mins before I ruined my tire. We spent Friday going round the course and playing on the DH. Sat playing on the Shredder and Rabs and then the seeding and racing. With camping and a good crowd it was all very good and can not be summed up as only “17 mins of racing”… I sum it up as 10mins of racing lol.:lol:

It can always develop into longer stages if the majority and organisers wish but this series is clearly in it’s infancy and many people are already enjoying it which is nice.

It is whatever the organisers want it to be and was very enjoyable.

Punctures are almost always user error. Wrong tyre – check, probably lost pressure on other stages – check, pedal stokes into rocks – check. Lesson learned lol.

The guy did come back for his saddle. We agreed it was a lovely expensive trophy as per your initial analysis.

Another top point was SRAM helping everyone out. I saw a guy after the race with knackered lyrics that was about to bung his bike in the car. Pointed him over to the sram van and later spotted someone giving the forks a proper going over. Hope he got them sorted. 😀

    Mint, mint, mint weekend 😀

Almost the worst weather conditions and yet once on track it all got going well. The wait at the top of the quali and stage 1 was horrible though!

Atmosphere was excellent on site and track all weekend. Organisers very friendly and approachable etc.

I felt the course was a spot on split of pedal and tech. The DH had all the brave moves taken out of it and was rollable. I’m not claiming to be an expert, I fell twice in my quali as I was pushing too hard, was not anyone elses fault as I could have slowed it down if I wished but was enjoying the challenge.

My race was cut short due to my first lesson of running tubeless on normal tires – yes that is a freezer bag repair running tubeless done on stage  Couldnt get enough pressure to stop the tyre rolling without the bag coming out more and more. Managed the ride back from the bottom of Granny Green Love on it. Spot the stans doing it’s job.

fbk – think I spoke to you watching the last stage at the mud/rootfest.

Looking forward to the next ones now I know my tent can take the rain lol.

Thought about the 2.5 super tackys for quali but as the time doesnt count I may as well get used to the sketchy tires I’ll be racing on or at least find out how bad an idea they are…

Think it says in the rules to use same frame, cockpit, shocks for quali and race. Quite wise not to include the quali time in the aggregate if everyone is going to turn up on DH bikes for Saturday… As for changing tyres mid race, hope thats a joke!?

Looking fwd to some good fun with my friends and to balls with folk thinking its F1.
