I have the old metal cage DXs. They spin and spin and have been doing it for the past 6 years with no bother.

So the tyre would eventually grow enough to take the structure of the tyre or plane out…

I read this as you can’t answer the question without further information.

If my other half knew what a Meta or an RP2 were I would be worried! 😯

Loco did a good job on my DHX4.5 Air for a lot less than Mojo.

Both my Stumpjumper and enduro felt like that. Hence I ride an 04 bike and an 06.

I had the same issue on my 06 enduro running my forks at 160mm as you. I was countering the light front end with my back. Winding down the forks makes it much better but lowers the BB so that pedal strikes are more common.
Good core also helps and keeping good posture with a static lower back position when climbing instead of bobbing and pushing through your back is also very good. Look up hip flexar(sp) stretches on google.
One last thing was moving my saddle an inch forward on the rails as it was quite back.
I have very little issues now compared to years gone by when I used to get a lot of pain during rides and then driving the car home it would attack again.

    Hope this helps.

They are used to dealing with groups, it is also quite local to the Ben.

When did the tourists build a lake up there?! 😆

I’ve got a set of Lyriks that are going this way. I’m just going to ride them until I feel they are ruining the ride. Currently they knock nicely when unweighted going up hills but don’t feel bad on the downs.

Oh and twiddle the PP as well.

It is a complex little beast. You can end up playing with the air volume as well.

    This is quite good:

And while you are playing with the pressures/sag twiddle the bottom out knob as well. 😆

Do Legend’s route for a good run. You can ride round all the jumps and drops at Inners so any trail is fine at your own speed.

Use the bike with the biggest brake blocks and cheapest drivetrain. Oh and don’t ride into the burn/pool near the top at night, it is cold.

I let off the brakes big time on the last left hand corkscrew of the boardwalk in the dry and got a big 2 wheel slide on that sent me 20ft down the hill side. That was with super tackys front and bad so obviously terrible technique lol 😆 Was quite a soft landing though 🙂

Duir, you state it rides like 160mm. What travel is a Dixon as I prefer a bike to ride like it’s actual travel?

Do you not need to do the bushes when you replace the stanchions? I would run em to death then decide if you get stanchions and bushes or new forks. Would still keep servicing them to keep the dampers etc happy and clear of dirt.

Have currently adopted this approach on my Lyriks. Will make the decision once they are unridable.

I rode the last stage of an enduro race with my front at 115mm and the rear at 165mm. Never realised apart from my hands taking a pounding.

So has your bike been with the shop for a week getting repaired or has it been a week since you reported all the failures to the shop with no action on their part?

I don’t think you are wrong to expect a new bike to work but the vendor should be informed of issues and given the chance to deal with them.

I think where it is not an obvious wear item such as brake pads it should be replaced/fixed during the warranty period as it is not fit for purpose, regardless of cost. Unless you have broken a manufacturer set maintenance regime.

Full refund, not sure as you have not suffered a great loss such as being without a rideable bike for long periods while waiting repair?

If you are putting two super tacky highrollers on at once it won’t be the bead weight that slows you down. If spiderman had a bike it would have two super tacky highrollers on it.

Never heard additional noise going to KCNC but I do have a chain guide and hope rear hub so it would be tricky to make more noise!

Did you do any maintenance in the 2 weeks you had it in the Alps? I reckon I could do well over a years worth of UK trail type suspension abuse within 2 weeks of uplift assisted Alps riding. If anything was very slightly unhappy then it would have been mullered after days and days of uplift beating. You can easily do 1000s of meters of rough downhill in a day out there. Should probably think about proper interim servicing when doing so much riding in one hit.

As you say, you should not take anyones word and have a proper look before use. Fingers crossed Nicolai feel for you and do the repairs at the cheapest possible cost.

How are people getting on with the BOS for reliability – say after a years proper use etc?

When I say g out I mean tanking down a steep slope and then hitting a transition/uphill/bombhole etc where my fork dives through all of its travel and slumps forward. With the stiffer spring the shock does not slump as far down and feels a lot more in control.

I find myself right between springs on lyriks. Soft is perfect for cornering and normal xc, medium is perfect for jumps and G outs but loses the cornering grip. I will be upping the damping with the soft spring but think it will dull the forks response and wish there was a spring inbetween.

Depends what you are after cruz but mine feels like zero pro pedal/platform and is only unhappy with lazy sprinting out the saddle. Everything else is lovely.

Just for 5hits and giggles – What happens on the scientific drop test of lifting the back end a bit and dropping it? Mine has zero bounce and just sucks it up like a good un.

Sound like the damping is either harsh or broken in some way if you are at 25-30% sag.

    mrplow

Something is off – what sag are you running? I have a Van R run at about 25% sag on a fsr and it is very nice indeed with no harshness.

So a drive to Dunkeld will be the best? We could manage that. Is it easy to find your way around? We can get there and go exploring if we are likely to find stuff. I believe there is a monster DH hidden in there?

Neil – If you asked before acting then I would have been around. You could have moved your booking, probably still can. 😉
