Watching live timing makes it all seem so nice and easy…not my memory of it at all!

I would pack your bag to survive being thrown 10-15 feet horizontal and 5-6 feet vertically down from a plane hold to the surface of a flatbed truck. All bags/boxes get this. The heavier they are the less the horizontal distance but the vertical will be the same. They then may have to survive a 25mph fall to the ground from 5 to 10 feet depending on your luck.

I once worked as a baggage handler as a summer job. You could wheel a bike in but it would take a whole load of trust. It is handled by few people door to door but the chance of breakage/theft are very high.

Boxes and bags are probably treated rougher as they are big generic objects. There is no time to be pretty with things.

Thanks for the help, a few things to consider then. The group booking issue of easyjet being one of them. Good to hear your bikes were delivered pretty quick afterwards but that would been a ton of stress on a “bike” holiday. Actually losing a bike though…wow!

Did the black today and gave the last blue a pop for float. At first I thought I had been ill advised until the speed got up and the grin came out as I tried to keep bike connected to the trail.

    Really enjoyed the trails.

Wonder if there is a quick way back up so I can do the final black and blue without too much fuss? 🙂

Yip, they are widening the path right there, the hills will soon be flat with this awful behaviour! 😉

If you are out in Glasgow today to will know the weather is stinking. The little bargain jacket is doing a fine job in these conditions 🙂

Given what enduros are capable of I really wouldn’t bother about it. A slight imperfection, the paint is not even damaged. First time you try pushing the bike past it’s ability and fail it will look a lot worse anyway – my enduro does!.

Ear plugs if you plan on getting any sleep over the weekend as folk have generators etc.
A plastic tyre lever works very well for hurried pushing back of brake pistons to put in new pads without causing any damage.
An epic sense of humour will go a long way to getting you through it and having a laugh with others on the course and in pits etc when it gets real cold.

Interesting. I thought the only deletion is the valve and use of nitrogen. Could well be a Specialized problem. I have witnessed a DHX coil doing the same squelch.

No shredder valve on mine – it is nitro charged and then sealed.

I only put my coil on for uplift days. I would not put a plastic bike in the uplift truck so it is air all the way for you.

    lol.

As a follow up GT was utterly mint today  Cracking trails, decent weather, great company and a good lunch at the cafe made for a great day out. Tommy two thumbs all round.

Topless bus with strikers went by my house this morning shouting abuse at me as I put my bike in the back of the car. Shame it rained on them all day… 😆

Does that mean I can’t trust the met office either?!

A simple trip to GT becomes an epic against the system!

Is Trafficscotland usually up to date on flood problems?

Is it scabbing in my case? I’m not striking and it could be likened to using roads or ending up ill in hospital…

Damn the need for the strikes Druidh! I may have to take an egging to cross the picket line. I have worked hard to have the rest of this week off in annual leave.

Spesh UK were most unhelpful on requests like this when I was looking for a S Works Enduro frame set.

If it is bushes why would you have a narrow piece of wear which mimics the lubrication slot in the bush where nothing is rubbing?

I have got old stantions which have the marks of the bushing slots – this was the only unworn parts of the stantion as the bushes have not been rubbing in these areas…

Looks like you may have picked up a little trail something that has done just enough to cause this wear.

I used to enjoy the warmer light of halogen over LEd. I always felt I could see more detail and judge distance better. A flood and spot combo were very good. Would love to see it back to back with my china light led as the halogen is probably better in memory.

Tips include setting the limit screws before connecting the cable. Wind in your shifter barrel to almost right in to the shifter (your new cable will stretch so this gives you good room for adjustment on the fly later on). Start on smallest cog rear. Pull the slack through with a good pull and you will almost always have nothing else to do if your mech/hanger are straight. Adjust the B tension screw on mech to get the wheels close up to the cassette without fouling.

Mechanic told me to shift once then rotate the cranks to test each shift up and down the range to see where the issues were instead of spinning constantly and shifting up and down the range. Has always worked very well for me. For double/triple shifts you want to keep it spinning.

    Job Jobbed.

Washed mine every time worn for last two years. They did get bobbles on the inside so I shaved these off with a razor so that they don’t rub my knees. Still going strong.

To start Ae do the Shredder first and on the way back head up and do the DH. Suddenly it is pretty ace with a bit of a work out in the middle on the fire roads. It was a shame the edge lost the trees as it was nice in there. I also liked it without the resurfacing.

Iain, I’ve never encountered groups larger the GMBC riding Mugdock. I also have nothing against them. The more people out the better and the more fun little bits that pop up now and again. It is a shame that some of the old rooty lines have been bypassed by straighter lines but when I am out I still ride the old ones with the bonus that they are in better condition for all the bypasses.

I would try to not get too upset about S&L when there is a massive wealth of off piste stuff in all the little woods around Peebles that people don’t bother to investigate…

Mugdock trails are a muddy mess at this time of year every year. The twice/ three time weekly freight train that is the GMBC creates far more damage than the odd person feeling their way around after seeing something online. The past few times I have been up I have seen very little people on the harder to find stuff.

Not really hard to see everything once the leaves have fallen off the trees and the tyre trails run out onto the main ways.
