I’ve been following this thread for a while now and it has brought back some memories and also stirred up a desire to get back into it.

My first foray into the RC world was with a Tamiya Blackfoot around 1986, This i used to ‘bash’ at the local BMX track (Cocks Moors Wood in Birmingham) with a mate I worked with who had a Hotshot, Clodbuster and a couple of other bitsa cars cobbled together from old broken ones.

After that, I had a Kyosho Optima Mid and did a bit of informal racing with a few others at the same BMX track. A change of jobs saw things fall by the wayside, I didn’t drive then so relied on my mate (who moved oop North) for transport.

After a minor failed dalliance with aeroplanes and helicopters, I retuned to RC some years later with some new mountain biking buddies. This time I went Nitro for the cars and over the course of a few years bought,  ‘bashed’ and sold on…..

    Traxxas T-Maxx,

HPI Nitro RS4 3 with Honda Intergra body, pretty quick but very limited places I could run it

HPI Nitro MT with Ford F350 body

HPI Savage 4.6 with 3 different bodyshells during the course of running

    Finally HoBao Hyper ST

The last 2 were semi raced on a patch of waste ground local to me with a few biking buddies. This was until after a period where we couldn’t meet up, we returned to our race spot, only to be told that the land had been sold and developers were moving in. We tried another spot, but it wasn’t the same and eventually the interest fizzled out. That was probably about 12 years ago, the Savage and Hyper ST were just ‘put away’.

I’ve now moved to Bridgend (3 years), where the Savage and Hyper ST were hung up in the garage with a brief attempt to get them running, but that didn’t go well so they were hung back up again.

This brings us to the present and this thread, nitro fuel has gotten expensive! especially if you want it delivered. The Savage is still hanging up, but after watching some YouTube videos the Hyper ST was looking to be a conversion project from the nitro engine to brushless on LiPo’s, most of the electrical stuff seems readily available, but the motor mount is like hens teeth!

So by the time I factored in all the new bits, with 2.4Ghz radio (the set in the Savage and ST was 40Mhz) it was proving to be expensive………So I now have on order an FTX Bugsta Brushless setup ready to run for about the same.

    I can’t wait

Thank you for reading, have fun

Have you tried assigning a different drive letter to the DVD drive.

From your original post, both the DVD drive and your SSD seem to be assigned with Z:

    Plug the drive in

Right click This PC/My Computer on the desktop

    Click Manage

On the left hand side under storage, click Disk Management

On the bottom panel, find the DVD drive and right click,

select ‘Change Drive Letter and Paths’

Click change, and select a different one (e.g X) and then click ok.

You may need to reboot to make the change ‘stick’

    The Nokia 6.1 is 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.2 mm and the A50 is 158.5 x 74.7 x 7.7 mm so ends up only 10mm bigger.

My old Nexus 5 seems tiny now! which is still in good working order but a bit tatty and no longer gets official updates. Even Lineage OS stopped doing updates, but it serves well as an additional display on my racing setup

I have ordered an A50 from Amazon for £230 (SIM free) tonight after dropping and breaking the screen on my Nokia 6.1.

According to what I have read it is closer to stock Android (Android One) than previous Samsung phones so should be very similar to the Nokia.

Gutted about the Nokia though as I’ve only had it 18 months, I usually last a good 3 years or more and its the first I’ve broken

I misread your post and was going to suggest Calibre as there is a version for MacOS.

A quick google of ‘macos audiobook meta data editor’ revealed this lengthy set of posts.

How Do I Manage My Audiobook Library In MacOS Catalina?

TL DR, at the bottom someone mentions MetaZ

A link for which is here  https://metaz.io/

    Any good to you?

Not a MacOS user (never have been ) and only just converted to Windows 10

maybe not, hitting the ‘our stores’ link on Planet X’s site goes to this page (it was certainly news to me)

Seems as they are internet only now.

See if a PM to Brant helps.

From a bit of Googling the Smoothie uses bearing’s with a 45 degree angle.

Is there any slack up front you can pull back for both gear cable and brake hose

Click on Drawing and download the PDF

It shows an air valve as part 31 and it looks like its under the top cap. See if you can remove it (probably just unscrews) and you should see the valve. This is in the left hand leg looking at the fork front on.

If it anything like the 2012 55 RC3Ti I have hanging in the garage, you’ll need an adaptor to add air.

    Like this one https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/pumps/sks-marzochi-shock-pump-adaptor-2315/

It basically makes the fork ramp up quicker as it progresses into the stroke.

Edit: Seems I didn’t fully read the thread! you’ve got the RC3 where there isn’t an air valve but appears to have a volume adjust (VA) knob (the big red one) on the right hand leg looking from the front.

Just reserved 1 to pick up in branch on Tuesday.

If my Google fu is correct the charger should be model No AL1820CV, which according to its manual is a 45 minute charge for a 1.5AH battery.

I dont actually need 1 but at this price its too good to resist.

I had one and it would only link to it own Wearfit 2.0 app.
Unfortunately it was the app let it down for me. When syncing it could take up to a minute to connect (when it did connect)
After a few weeks, i got fed up of it and stuck it in a box of junk that ended up in the loft!

Reverbs use hydraulic hose like your brakes so you cant just fit a new inner wire.

As tomhoward says, tape some string to the reverb hose before you pull it out.

I’ve used Stans which works really well. Only issue I’ve ever had is over time the clogging particles stick together to form a solid lump which rattles within the tyre. You then need to dismount 1 side to pull it out.

Had one almost as big as my fist come out of a fatbike tyre.

Currently using Effetto Caffelatex. Still sloshing around in a fatbike tyre from January with no top ups.

How effective at sealing punctures I couldn’t say as so far I’ve not seen any

    mrpeaski
    Free Member

If there’s no obvious sounds of sloshing, it could be the sealant had dried up.

Take the valve core out and inject some more sealant in.Refit valve core, pump up and slosh around, should find and plug the leak.

Maybe check where you got the bike from as to which sealant they use to set up with, good chance its Stans.

Some brands don’t like if you mix with others.

I can only comment on the Titanium Burgtec ones, had them on a 2011 Spec Pitch Pro. Changed the shock to a longer than stock one so used them to essentially size it down. They were in for a couple of years before I sold the frame on. No apparent issues.

Recently fitted stainless steel ones to my current Cube Stereo, but haven’t had enough time on them to see any signs of wear etc.Got mine from bouncecycles.co.uk

I always thought the DU bushing was sacrificial.

Just bought a set for my 2016 Cube Stereo 140, brings the head angle to current spec.

    From here

    https://bouncecycles.co.uk/product-category/shop/parts/shock-mounting-and-bushing-kits/

Stainless mount complete with spacers and a new DU bushing £10 per end.

As its a new shock you can get away with the current DU bush and keep the new ones as spares

    @ Geex

Bare light unit (no mounts) = 210g

    Light + outfront mount = 270g

Light + rubber mount with ‘stabiliser’ = 240g

These from my Feedback sports scales

I have the 1000 lumen version and the remote works like this:

1 click forwards when the light is OFF, lights battery indicator in red to show how much charge is left.

1 click forwards when the light is ON, does nothing.

1 click forwards and hold when the light is OFF, turns the light ON

1 click forwards and hold when the light is ON, turns the light OFF

Clicking down when the light is ON, cycles through the different modes.

Mine is attached to my road bike at the mo, and so far haven’t been impressed with any of the mounts.

The out front mount is too flexible and causes the light to vibrate all over the place. Its a good idea but just not stiff enough. Neither of the rubber mounts inspired confidence.

It is now attached to a K Edge out front GoPro mount and is solid.
