nope not a troll this time folks, for 18k I can get a low mileage high spec car that will see me doing the 500 miles a week I drive in comfort and safety, especially through the winter months down in the more remote parts of England & Wales. And bloody hell is it quick, it’s astonishingly quick to boot!

oh no, does anyone else feel like an old and trusted friend has just been given a terminal diagnosis the results of which will lead to bloating, thin skin, a tacky feeling and eventual shame and self loathing. Poor old Land Rover, I’m just glad I knew you when you just made utilitarian motors that fell apart and didn’t like going anywhere without a can of WD40 & tool No.1 in the glove box. I bet the new one has carpet and organic cheese washed half hide seats and a drivers vanity mirror.

Barbary Castle has ample car parking.

The Outside Chance is pretty good my best mate is executive chef there, another pub worthy of mention is the Seven Stars at Bottlesford, Micky was voted in the top 10 uk burgers by Esquire magazine, but he’s way better than just burgers!

(its the Bell at west overton, not the red lion)

I like to think that glass is just a continental measure of gin awaiting an equal measure of chilled elderflower presse

yes, that’s what I was doing. The Red Lion at East Chisenbury is a fantastic pub, amazing food & drink and a brilliant atmosphere; Guy was awarded UK Pub Cherf of the year and also has a Michelin Bib Gourmand, they do a prix fixe menu that is also very reasonably priced. To me 10 miles is no distance and well worth the effort.

Alternatively I hear the Bell at West Overton does a fantastic steak so perhaps that would be worth a trip as then you could park up at the Ridgeway after lunch and walk from the woodhenge up on the hill along the Ridgeway and then down to Avebury and back, or drive along to west kennett longbarrow & silbury hill?

I have nothing against the Red Lion in Avebury (except for the ludicrously high parking charge!) I was just suggesting alternatives to the obvious!

absolutely, its a transition period at the moment but it is completely possible with today’s available technologies to not only meet your demands but also export back to the grid half as much again. I have customers who have a 5kW wind turbine, a PV array and they are not only seeing their needs met but also receiving a sensible income from their energy generation.

Given that we’ve had nuclear power stations for quite some time now, what have we been doing with the waste?

Of course we should all actively reduce our consumption, demand will always be there but if we’re also generating power from clean, non damaging, distributed sources we will all ensure a better future for our children.

if it were to be hinged at the bottom of the country and then folded down across the globe it’s top would reach the tip of Africa.

Renewable energy provision is essential, its getting cheaper by the day in many cases and that’s due to demand. The Feed in Tariffs are a very positive thing.

Saying that people shouldn’t receive incentives to generate enough for their own usage and be rewarded for feeding power back into the grid, due to it damaging your choice to buy nonsustainably produced energy from a marketplace of different suppliers is akin to Reform Luddism!

PV can give reasonable returns but be careful when selecting both the installer and the panels, its like the wild west out there! if you would like a reputable company drop me a line and I can point you in the right direction.

If you live in an area with a wind speed of +5 meters per second you would be better off investing in a 5kW Wind turbine as the RoI is better, again if you’d like more info contact me off forum, I’m not selling on here!

spent last weekend in Padstow, ate at his cafe & bistro, was a bit underwhelmed by the food, the service was great but I’m not really a fan of unit produced food when the QC isn’t up to scratch.

oh and I also went swimming in the sea at Bedruthen Steps, it was lovely and warm.

Self taught, never had so much as a lesson in my life, perhaps I’ll give it a go, still I’m kinda fond of the noise, there are dangers of electric.
