You can’t fit a front mech on. No.

is there any news on an affordable version of xx1? I like being able to ride up hills

Chesterfield Rd isn’t that bad and there is room for cars to overtake without running you off the road unlike Hutcliffe Wood or Bocking Lane. You don’t need to be superfit and it will get you fitter very quickly. At rush hour the bike is faster than a car, especially on the way in.

putting the Lance pages from the guardian through the pornolizer works well

though the language isn’t very work safe…

he doesn’t deliberately cause cyclists to crash, he just makes up stories about causing people to crash. Presumably because he thinks it impresses someone. What a lovely fellow.

it’s a bit damp in Sheffield this morning which won’t help. I’d assume WLT will be a bog but as others have said the rocky bits are fine and if you pick your route you can avoid most of it.

at a guess, the rocky bits will be rocky and you’ll be fine while the not rocky bits will be not rocky and you’ll be up to your axles

Specialized something or other, run with tubes. Usually tubeless (and bigger volume) but ripped a sidewall the week before, didn’t get round to swapping the tyre until Saturday morning and decided to take the quick option.

I had a pinch flat, put in a new tube and ripped the core out when it was nearly up, started again… Fingers crossed that the dented rim will still work tubeless, I’ve remembered why I took that option in the first place.

Should add, thanks for the tube donation. Would have been a long and miserable walk to the pub.

Disappointingly only an ‘unadjustable with internal spacers’ 150mm now

    will 10mm make that much difference? it’s only 7mm once it’s sagged…

Crossed regularly in my salad days. Kingsgate Bridge, Durham.

Have you seen the pic of the car slung beneath it? I was told the uni had to ask the engineering students who got it up there how to get it done.

I have some rudy project with adjustable nose thingys. Not cheap (and a bit roadie looking) but reactolite lenses are bloody great.

Getting back to the standing/sitting topic… A workmate of mine lives in switzerland and, shortly after moving in to a new flat, was instructed by a neighbour that he should sit down when peeing at night to avoid disturbing people by peeing directly into the water. He swears blind this conversation came out of the blue before he'd ever done any such thing.

having said that, if I’d got offers on the frame and wheels then I’d probably go for it

2 and six would be a little disappointing…

sorry, not looking to split – I suspect I’d just end up with half of it left over. And it’s a medium anyway.

    cheers anyway
