My first thought was the TV, and I have been through all the settings, but none seem to make any difference.

The motion problem isn’t just on 3D bluray either – but on all bluray movies – some more noticeable than others – Ant Man for example is pretty bad for it.

I figured a more expensive player would have better image processing hardware/software and thus would be more likely to produce a better output.

I’ll do a bit of searching on AVforums.

The main problems I have with it is that during fast motion, there is a lot of ghosting like watching the six million dollar man, and sometimes it goes into a weird slow motion while it’s switching layers I guess. I’m 99% sure the ghosting is from the bluray player as we don’t get it watching HD content from non-disc sources.

Although I do watch a lot of streamed stuff, I’m still not completely sold on it. I like to have the discs, especially as we always get the 3D versions of the blurays.

I always have a pack delivered from Tesco every week, but noticed that they had gone off the website. Been getting a couple of the Fox’s ones the last two weeks.

I wasn’t aware that they ever did this. Seems a bit dodgy to me. I thought they only provided data like that to police etc, and certain companies who would need that data. Certainly not individuals – at least I wouldn’t be happy about it.

Thanks for the replies so far :)

Just to clear up an misunderstanding – the PSU hasn’t been moved out of one computer into another. I installed it into my mothers computer while I was at work, and tested it there, and it worked fine and was turned on for a good couple of hours no issues. Took the computer back to her house, and the PSU blew as soon as I turned on the socket and extension cable. Didn’t even turn on the computer.

I’ve ordered another PSU – they are only £20 on eBay. Dell won’t be interested. The computer is about eight years old, and she only uses it to print letters and photos.

I’ll be testing it again in her PC, but not in her house. If that works ok, then I’ll be trying again in her house with a different power cable, and plugged directly into a different socket.

I replaced the original blown one with exactly the same one. Unfortunately it’s a bespoke Dell power supply that’s in an L shape to accommodate the optical drive.

Like I said it was perfectly fine at work this afternoon yet blew in exactly the same manner as the original one as soon as it got power. I didn’t even get as far as powering up the pc.

Other than trying a different power cable and socket I don’t think there is anything else I can try.

So data and power for cameras is on one cable?

I’m also thinking of something like this but wasn’t sure if each camera needed power and data on different cables.

The one I ordered is still available to buy on the website, so i guess they must have found it… I re-ordered from CRC anyway, and it was despatched same day. Just a few quid more expensive.

Don’t think online stores like me…

Just received one of these and all the gels are a month out of date.

It got kicked into life after I emailed the ceo email address, claiming it couldn’t be found in the warehouse. Mysteriously though since I cancelled, one has appeared in stock, so either someone else is risking the same disappointment, or they just decided they didn’t want to sell them to me. Anyhow, I’ll know for next time I need something.

As expected, had a message this morning saying they cant find the forks in the warehouse. Shame they waited four days before letting me know.

As I said, if it’s just sheer volume causing delays, that’s fine, but how much effort does it take just to post something on FB/Twitter to say that orders are being delayed because of it.

My concern is that come Friday, I’ll get an email saying ‘Sorry, actually we are out of stock’.

First time I used PX for a while yesterday while the forks offer was on. For some reason though, the 15% off never got applied to the price at checkout. Just waiting for a response from my mail to customer services.

I have the need to clear my throat after a cold ride. Not a cough as such, just the phlegm in throat feeling. It annoys the hell out of me and my work mates if I go out at lunchtimes.

I’ve emailed them a number of times in the past, and never, ever had a reply. A friend of mine phoned them last year due to a small issue, and was assured they would sort it out… it wasn’t…

Thanks for the suggestions. We talked about it and decided to delay the holiday and go to the Lakes in June instead of February.

Been with Plusnet for over 12 years. Had half a handful of problems in that time, and all been sorted very quickly. Not even considered going elsewhere yet. Started with dial-up, and now on FTTC.

Sorry, I wasn’t very clear as I was rushing the post before I quit work for the weekend. My brother in law has something similar to this (not the same one):

Just wondered if anyone had experience of any others.

Just for balance, we have Plusnet FTTC, and its been connected for 30 days straight. Not using their router though, so can’t vouch for that. Don’t have any speed issued (we get about 31Mb at our house)

    I do, but very rarely.

As someone else said above, I have the volume low enough that its only as loud as someone talking next to me, and more often than not, the wind noise is louder than the music so it makes almost zero difference.

A friend of mines wife is a teacher, and they are told that if they can’t get to the school they work at, they should go to the nearest local school where they live. Not sure how widespread that is though, or if any of them actually abide by it.

I always buy KMC 10SL chains. Not had any snap, only one missing link failure in 6k miles.

You get the option of burning it to a disc before installation. I can boot from the disc I burned.

I bought it today (the £25 upgrade). I got an app called Start8, which brings back a start button. This also allows the pc to boot up in desktop mode. There is a 30 day trial of Start8, and I think its very cheap to buy.

I only use Strava to race against myself now. I have plenty of private segments I monitor my progress on. I learned months ago that I’ll never be quick enough to get or keep a KOM for very long so it just helps to motivate myself to try and do better than last time.

Filled it in without any problems. Only noticed afterward that you only get the voucher if you complete EVERY question. Not sure if I did now… I may have left a few of those free text boxes empty.

I thought the whole idea of having a barometric altimeter built in was so it was more accurate than elevation correction. I think the trick is to turn on your Garmin so that the starting elevation is ‘settled’ before you start.

Search for Real Time GPS Tracker by Greenalp. Use it all the time, no problems yet.

Just had a quick look at the specs, and looks to me like the X series are free floating, and can’t be adjusted, whereas the zeros can have anything between 0 and 15 degrees.

Zeros have plenty of adjustable float, so no idea what the difference is. I just bought the cheapest Zeros I could find. The cleats are more expensive than usual, but last much longer than any others i’ve used.

Use the zeros myself, and wouldn’t change them.

Find clipping in much easier, especially on hill starts. Cleats also seem to last a while, mine are over a year old now and done 3000+ miles and no sign of them needing replacement yet.

Only downside experienced so far was difficulty in unclipping once as the cleats had a bit of mud in them after having to walk across a grass verge for a call of nature.

I normally buy Giordana Tenax bibs, but they seem to be getting increasingly rare. I’m interested in trying some Assis T FI.Uno ones, but spending over £100 on shorts doesn’t compute, especially if they only last as long as the Giordana ones. They have lasted a couple of years and they are now bobbling quite a bit in places.

If the Assos ones last much longer than a couple of years, then I could be persuaded to invest in some, but do they?

Use Rival on my roadie, after using Ultegra previously. I don’t think I would go back to Ultegra now as I actually prefer the double tap system.

Just to follow up. If bikes over £1000 are specified, then the ‘cover away from home’ is not required – as they are automatically covered away from home. Bikes under £1000 DO require ‘cover away from home’ if the cover is needed.

    mrmuddybum

What I meant was that it said that bikes under 1,000 weren’t covered when away from home, unless you took the ‘contents away from home’ cover, but bikes over £1000 that were specified, were covered away from home, and the ‘contents away from home’ cover wasn’t required.

Seeing as both my bikes are specified, i didn’t want to bother with the contents away from home, if it wasn’t required for the bikes.

I’ll give them a bell sometime today to clarify.

I’ve only ever ordered from Tredz once, and that was enough. Ordered a waterproof jacket, and a couple of bottle cages. Jacket took over a week to arrive, and the bottle cages well over a month. Not once did they return any emails. They offered a 10% off £50 voucher as way of apologising, but safe to say it was quickly destroyed.
