it’s pretty good, not got the complexity of the islay malts or the peatiness but certainly very drinkable and nice in that it’s a little different.

I’m not a fan of Jura either, a bit to medicinal for me. Also our stay on Jura was pretty miserable!

The pub we are spending Hogmonay in has a collection of over 140 islay malts varying form normal to astronomical prices. I plan to sample one really expensive one to see if my naive pallet can tell the difference.

Bruicladdich made me quite ill last time we toured in Scotland, not through excess either. Mind you the midgies had caused me to lose a good 90% of blood on Colonsay so that may have been a factor

    yes you are right

Luckily I shall be spending Hogmonay on Islay so it shouldn’t be a problem

    hmm

    in our collection we have

Highland park 12 and 18 (these are my hip flask whiskies)
Kilchoman 2009 Autumn release (this is a keeper)
    The Yamazaki 10
    Cragganmore 12
    Caol Ila 12
    Laphroaig Quarter Cask
    Bowmore
    Talisker 10
Macallan cask strength 10 (dangerous stuff)
    Penderyn Peated

any suggestions as to where to go next with the collection? should get an idea of our tastes from the above.

bells is not to my taste but there’s nowt wrong with good blended whisky. The vast majority of the production from most of the big ‘single malt’ distilleries is sold to make the more robust blends.

champagne is after all a blend of wines and it’s pretty damned expensive….

whisky mack is the way ahead for you.

i’m typing this sat next to our whisky collection…..it’s a little early in the day……i shouldn’t really

more seriously, it could well be a badger, the pad tends to be wide like that.

if my memory serves me correctly the rear print in narrower and the toes from more of an arch, most badgers have front and rear legs so have a look around!

actually, on closer inspection you can put non web based mail services (POP3 etc) to put emails into a web based folder. IE i could put the emails from my self hosted email address and my ukonline address into my hotmail folder. Won’t work the other way round though

as hoops says you can’t do this with MAPI services like hotmail, they need their own data file i think

you can choose a destination folder for each email account in account settings. You simply choose the same folder

perhaps Lisa I’anson got carried away after Norman Cook (allegedly) gave her a bottle of liquid acid in Ibiza when she dissapeared for a couple of days and got sacked from Radio 1

In fact all of those 3 women a day must have imbibed some form of narcotic, even the temptation of fame can’t have been enough to tempt them to do the dirty with an ugly talentless duracell like Hucknel

I loved the Chinese’ take on letting their small child have a pee.

    1. Drop child’s trousers no matter where you are
    2. Hold child at arms length facing away from you
    3. Wait for evacuation to complete
    4. Pull up trousers

i never saw the roads of Beijing quiet enough for that to happen.

There seemed to be some kind of mystical power keeping all the road users and pedestrians apart

just uploading a video of my rip round our local 16 mile CX route, it’s only really rideable when frozen or verr very dry, I’ve ridden it twice this week , once on mtb at night and once on the CX during the day. Much more fun at night and the first time I’ve used my new lights.

    fun fun fun

video (crap) to follow, it’s nowt exciting but kind of captures the mood

we used one in France on our tour this year

works well if you have good sunlight, not so well without. We carried the mains adapter as well which with the adapters means you can charge your phone/gps etc. or the backup battery in cafes and the like.

It’s also not as waterproof as it makes out, the battery filled with water in a downpour but once dried out still appears to work for now
