yes it does, but only on the very very steep bits, it does well in the peaks (i’ve been riding there for 20 years on at least 6 different bikes so am a fairly good judge) it only really falls apart when you need a combination of front wheel grip and big back wheel power (say a 6″ step up on a steep rocky pitch) then the front wheel will buck

you get used to it and forget all about it when HOONING back down

    nice forge

someone else who has the saddle way back over the back wheel

i find it REALLY helps on fast descents as you can push the back wheel down under braking even when standing

    tape it like jedi says

don’t wear a brace for too long, a far better way of helping your ankle is to (you might look a bit silly) stand on one leg as much as possible!

i’ve had the 661 brace and it did more harm than good, the plastic inserts are uncomfortable and just caused pain elsewhere

oh and yes to wider bars

the only thing i would change on mine is to have travel adjustable forks but the all mountain SLs are too good to warrant the change

    loveley lovely bike

rode it at cwm carn yesterday and nearly had s3x wee in my own shorts

i have never ridden a bike that corners like it, brakes like it or descends like it

by the way the saddle is further back than in that picture.

it climbs surprisingly well, struggles with the REALLY steep stuff but i cleaned the cwm carn climb on it

    enjoy

that’s because their advertised prices are already rock bottom to get people through the doors, second hand prices are still good, they just advertise lower prices instead of leaving room for negotiation.

upgrades have got harder to get

go into a t-mobile store (they are franchises) and ask them to call t-mobile and find out what discount they are offering you, this is set by the network and in my case is nearly £300. you can then take that amount off any phone in the store (upgrade price)

i put the speedlight in above the attached lens of the camera (normally 18-200vr, seems to fit fine even with D300 and grip

all you can do is select the first 5 playlists and go forward and backwards through the tracks

i cannot select an album or song using the ipod controls

    i’ve got lowepro AW200

it’ll carry all that with ease, comfy to wear but no use on the bike as it jumps around too much

    just bought a golf

it was on the forecourt at a good £1500 below book (£8500)

we got a further 600 off the car and 200 off a 3 year warranty and £20 off an ipod connection

55 plate 2.0tdi GT by the way, highish mileage though

cash makes no difference in my experience, in fact a couple of dealers have told me they don’t like it as they have to keep it safe and then get it to the bank securely.

v2 and v3 running fine on vista here

you will need the V2 discs to verify after installation of the upgrade version of V3. it just reads the discs but doesn’t install them

if not you will have to buy the full version of V3

also, there is a V3 beta available from the website which is completely compatible with garmin gps formats

they are very helpful if you have any problems

measure the original rigid forks axle to crown, the SAGGED axle to crown height of sus forks will give the same geometry

i’ve done this with old steel frames with some success.

i get constantly fed up of people moaning when their cheap laptops collapse. maybe it’s because in my job it gets put in the back of vans and carted around and on and off airplanes and shoved into peoples crammed car boots. to me, that’s the really important factor governing a choice of laptop. if i wanted something reliable to use the kind of applications that demand high processor speeds and a lot of RAM then I’d buy a desktop

    or a mac

if i was spending £400 on a laptop i would wait a bit and spend £500. the build quality on those cheaper laptops is appalling

but otherwise i’d go for the sony as it comes with a 2 year warranty

i have an older N-series laptop and it’s been ok

no idea, i’ve only used the pace grease!

i’d also advise keeping an eye on the seals, mine frequebtly failed until i had the ‘extreme conditions’ seals put in, the same with the wifes non stealth versions
