mudguards and lights not fitting are rubbish excuses – have you no old innertubes? or lecky tape? or bits of card board?! if you see no way to get around these issues, it seems you’ve already decided about wet weather riding!

crampons and ropes would also have helped.

i concur! i felt like 13thfloormonk was a school boy and i was a fly having my legs pulled off, one by one… but yeah, that was cracking, nice one!

i’m coming, woo! i’ve done most of my rides around that eastern bit and i love it there! prefer going down from windy door nick to boghall and then the souterrain, but i’m totally up for going the opposite way! (black inbred)

i suspect it will go to contador too. there was a guardian article recently that speculated that the race is really for second place, as contador will most likely win and may be stripped of his title come august if he’s found guilty of doping…

i’d like to do this – most likely be the sunday if either. it’s always tricky for me with work to get around so don’t plan too much around me! but i’d like to be a maybe for now if that’s okay 🙂

i was going to finish work at 10pm tonight, head to the hills for the sunset, then ride around til sunrise at half 4ish. but i’m flipping exhausted, and didn’t count on being out for 6+ hours when i first thought of this! 🙄

that was great yesterday! feeling pretty tired after working til 4am, mind! 😮

not sure i can make the august date, but if i can i will! 🙂

i used know someone who would regularly give over 100% everyday, seven days a week. he used speed. then he went on holiday and he was too exhausted to get out of bed, for two weeks!

of course you can give more than 100%. it’s easy, you just have to go into deficit. in terms of work, this means putting in more energy than is sustainable, so that one is suffering from exhaustion. a true 110%er will work themself to death, of course – this is the true measure of the claim!

i mentioned this on the trail repair thread, but i’ll also just say here too – when i’m out tomorrow evening it’ll be forming part of my research for my uni dissertation on mountain biking and landscape – yes, i’ve figured out how to ride my bike and do proper research simultaneously! 😆

so i might ask the odd question and take a note or two. however, i intend not to fall off this time!

    looking forward to it 🙂

i think i can make it – woo! i’ll probably cycle up as i need to get to work in the late afternoon 🙁

incidentally, i’m doing a uni dissertation on mountain biking and landscape. so as well as throwing my weight behind the shovel, i might ask a few relevant questions and make the odd note – hope that’s okay! 🙂

here’s hoping! i’ve had a week of feeling poorly but i’m really hoping to be well by tomorrow evening 🙂 lochrin for me…

a couple of years ago me and my girlfriend decided to go camping at loch katrine on the summer solstice – without protection. we got absolutely plastered in midgie bites. up ours noses, on the edges of our eyelids, the inside of our lips… we aborted before getting the tent up.

ironically, despite looking like a big swollen red blob, i never got any soreness or pain from the bites. weird… my girlfriend, on the other hand…

the tommy simspon one was amazing. a sunday in hell was pretty smart too. i think that’s my lot for grainy footage of road cycling from the 60s and 70s for now, and i’ve seen flying scotsman and belleville rendevouz before. what else y’all got? 🙂

it’s a fair bit of cash. i got a tent from argos for £25 that weighs quite a bit less!
