These look interesting, a T6 LED, nice and compact, looks ideal as a helmet mounted light. For £32 I might give it a go some time soon (don’t really need it at the moment!)

(will do a bit of googling to see if the site is dodgy or not)

Love the look of that Sanderson and am sorely tempted, however they only have 18″ left and I’m not compromising on frame size (need 20), done that before and I just end up resenting a nice frame.

Have you seen the geometry figures for the breath? I had a 20″ (or whatever it is) inbred, now ride an 18″ breath, they’re very long frames.

    And they are mint. :D

They do come with ‘standard’ fittings, the fitting kit we got for our golf just replaced the two arms at the top that clip onto the boot lid.

I remember giving them a ring when we got ours, they were very helpful. May be worth checking if it’ll fit with the standard fittings that come in the box.

Not on the idiet, but I can highly recommend the river cottage veg everyday cookbook.

Most of it looks to be ifriendly or easily adapted to be so.

I’ve still not yet opened it on a page and not thought “mmm, that looks rather tasty”!

All very easy to prepare, we’ve been working our way through the salads section recently. nom nom nom nom. :D

We have one, had it for a few years now.

Well worth spending the money on it, its so easy to use, takes 30 seconds to attach it to the car and doesn’t need a light board.

Make sure you get the right fitting kit too if your car needs a different one.

Its one of those places that if you go with the right frame of mind you’ll have an excellent day.
It aint in wales or scotland, there’s no hills really, but if you like fast singletrack its good.
Last time I went (feb i think) there had been some maintenance and a new section added.
If you’re a ‘slog to the top and shred the gnarrrrr down’ type then you’ll probably say its cack but if you carry your speed and fly through the singletrack you’ll like it.
Just don’t expect it to be the best thing ever and watch out for dad with his line of halfords ducklings following if you’re there on a weekend afternoon!

edit: what he said /\ !

    PetPlan +1

We use them for our two mogs, my cat lady of a mother uses them for her 3, she’s certainly had her moneys worth.

Both our vets and hers say PetPlan are by far the best to deal with.

This reminded me of something from A level psychology a little, Freud’s Little Hans study.

However that took Freud’s usual twist and started to talk about large genitals.

Does it make a difference that the Rumjacks are a bit more disposable then? They’re no where near as big as JC etc.

Not sure that this should excuse the actions of the others though.

buy a job lot of savlon and don’t use white bed sheets for a while. The backs of your calves are going to be bloody for a while.

I did wonder where that was going when I started reading it!

Oh and make sure they’re done up tight or they’ll unscrew.

S’ok, I’m going to pedal backwards all day. :-)

Yes, however the original comment was in relation to a statement that the pedal shouldn’t need to be more than finger tight. In that situation the drag in the bearing (particularly with flats that dont rotate as easily so that you can get your feet back on them) could be greater than any force due to precession causing the pedal to fall off.

I didnt say that they will just fall off through normal use, that would be rediculous.

    http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/pedal-installation-and-removal-pw-3-pw-4-pw-5-hcw-16

The right side pedal has a right-hand thread (removes counterclockwise, installs clockwise). The left side pedal has a left-hand thread (removes clockwise, installs counterclockwise)

ie. right side pedal for example, installs clockwise, therefore crank must turn anti-clockwise in relation to pedal axle to install pedal, therefore pedaling backwards whilst pedal axle does not rotate will tighten pedal, therefore pedalling forwards whilst holding pedal axle will loosen pedal.

    :D

Ay? Have you got different cranks to everyone else?

    nope.

    mrjmt

Could never understand why people do them up tight in the first place? Surely the thread direction means even if they are barely more than finger tight they won’t come off? Hope so anyway as all mine aren’t torqued up much…

Thread direction means that pedals unscrew whilst pedalling forwards, bottom bracket tightens as pedalling forwards.

    should’ve gone to Disco….

I normally us SSC pads, but might try disco next. I ordered some pedals from them on Tues, came yesterday. Well, thats as good a reason as any you’ll get on here!

I just planned to go get a coffee and a blueberry muffin.

Then realised I’ve forgotten my wallet and had to eat an apple.

Also I can’t get that BBQ cover I planned to buy at lunch now.

Superstar is a good shout actually – normally very fast. I need it for a 183mm rotor though and they only have 180mm, is it going to matter?

If it does, just add 3mm of washers between the mount adaptor and the caliper.

So, I can’t really tell from the article whether its talkign about footpaths as in pavements or footpaths as in public footpaths?

I would assume it means public footpaths, but the way it reads seems to imply pavements… Or is it a case that the writer isn’t clear on the subject? I’m often amazed that people dont know the difference between the different rights of way, but if you never use them I suppose you wouldnt really know!

Superstar components have always sent my orders same day, and their mount adaptors are as cheap as they come.

Hmm, interesting, are you buying direct from Taiwan? If so, where from?

I now have a nice slit in the side of the tip of my index finger on my left hand and around 1mm missing from the end of my thumb on my left hand. Need to get used to a right hand sharpened knife, think my sabatier is ambidextrous, so i’m currently catching the tips of my left hand due to the cutting edge being slightly further over in relation to the handle (i think). That and its so sharp that you dont notice you’ve caught yourself until its too late!

The more I use it though the more impressed I am, really happy I posted on here first and followed your recommendation.

What can I do with tickets I no longer want?

What can I do with tickets I no longer want?

Our ticketing policy states that tickets are non-transferable. However, providing you as the lead booker are contactable on the day in case of query, a member of your family or a friend may use tickets you can no longer use.

Alternatively, you will have the opportunity to resell your tickets at face value through the official London 2012 ticket resale programme. This is the only authorised way you will be able to submit your tickets for resale.

The first resale opportunity has now closed. There will be a further opportunity to submit you tickets for resale in the Spring.

So you can sell them as long as you’re contactable on the day, or there’ll be another round of selling to come in the spring (isn’t that now?!?)

Aah, that may make sense, however surely it’ll be a nightmare to have to see that many peoples visa cards?!?

edit: wasnt the expiry thing from when you bought them as they didn’t charge your card until the tickets were allocated, and even then you didn’t find out what the tickets were you paid for?!?

Dont know if they’ve arrived yet, think my wife will have put them somewhere safe if they have, might check on that!

Hmm, OK I’ll bear it in mind fellas (like I said they’re only potentially unwanted at this stage). They’ll probably appear in the classifieds if I do need to get rid of them.

Also, still not sure if I can actually shift them or not, wouldn’t want to sell them to someone and then they find they can’t get in!

Upgrades are expensive though, the extent of works required to increase capacity/speed on lines is huge, and on some lines it just isn’t possible to squeeze any more out. Look at the Northern Hub project for a good example of this kind of work in action.
The other option is new lines (like HS2 for example) but even with compulsary purchase just the land aquisition is rediculous, never mind actually designing and building the thing!
I’m not sure what else there is to do to be honest?!? you can’t keep doing little upgrades due to the nature of the problem, you need to run something up to capacity, then upgrade it with some additional capacity for future upgrades. Then the same situation occurs a decade or two later. This lifecycle is the way the network evolves!
(no, I dont work for Network Rail or a train operating company).

    mrjmt
    Free Member

uk train companys seem to be operating a minimal service maximum cost train service

erm, a lot of lines are operating at capacity, so its not quite a minimal service as there is no possibility at the moment to increase it.
And the overrunning engineering works mentioned earlier are to address these problems.
You can’t fix it without doing some work.
However, the ticket pricing is total nonsense, and the amount of money wasted by various parties involved in the industry is just daft.
