Can’t comment on the phono stage but I have a couple of the fosi bt20 amps, sound great for the price with bookshelf speakers, tried one with my Dali concept 5 floor standers and it sounded crap. I’d say go for one of them if you are using bookshelfs 👍

I’m sure Jeyes fluid is popular for this job.

As mentioned by cougar, I think this is due to the deco using the wifi for its backhaul. If you get rid of the additional nodes temporary and just use the single one at the modem as a router (ie temporarily get rid of the mesh part) does it improve speed?

    NIN – The Downward Spiral

I remember it coming out when I was at school, and thinking it was a cool album. Now 28 years later I see it as a genuine work of art.

Although there’s constant confusion when Australians talk about chips (at last my Aussie partner has learnt to call crisps crisps to avoid any mis-haps), at least they have their toastie language sorted.
Toasted sandwich = open sandwich done on a press
Jaffle = sealed sandwich done in a toastie maker (although the call it a jaffle maker)

But then some people call the toasted sandwich a toastie so who knows what’s going on.

Top toastie tip though, make home made pizzas one day, next day use any left over toppings for toastie filling excellence. And never underestimate the value that avocado brings to a toastie.

Isn’t it the magazine that’s Singletrack but the website that’s STW? So the logo doesn’t have the ‘world’ elsewhere, just on the website?

I seem to remember when I was at school (30 years ago!) people talking about the age being really young to drive a tractor, something like 13 is that correct? May have just been to drive on private land or something.

I use wise regularly between Australia and UK.

One thing to note is that I got an email from them this morning saying that they no longer offer guaranteed rates for GBP and EUR. It used to be that they gave you the transfer figures when you request the transfer and then you knew exactly what you would receive. Now, due to the instability of the rates you’ll get an estimate when you request the transfer, then whatever the rate is when they actually send it. There is a workaround on their website but I didn’t look into it in any detail.

Bass from earbuds is more to do with how well they fit in your ear than the drivers. Unless they completely seal the ear canal you will get no bass at all. Try experimenting with different tips, maybe try some foam ones as well as the standard silicone.

100% this. The sound you hear is based on the driver moving air which in turn moves your ear drum (or something). If there’s no seal then the air will take the path of least resistance and exit the ear rather than act upon it.

Lack of bass is usually a sign of poor fit rather than poor driver unless they’re really crap.

Squirt some water on the caliper on the way down to cool it and see if that helps?
I’m not sure if it’ll work but if as above it’s heat in the caliper causing a bubble to expand it might tell you that.

Maybe the question mark is because he doesn’t know if they’re from STW?

Not sure to be honest but I did the same thing, it was only because I got divorced and went on to change back to a single plan that I noticed it 😂

Family gives you 6 accounts, if you only need 2 then look at Duo as it’s a bit cheaper.

But yes either of these will solve your problem.

If my child couldn’t swim very well I’d not be taking him swimming/out of their depth in the sea. Paddling and rock-pools would be my limit.

From experience things can go wrong very quickly in the sea.

Just to clarify before I get accused of being a terrible parent I said out of his depth in the pool. In the sea we will be wading depth and between the flags.

Oh and swimming lessons are on the agenda later on the year, he’s not been able to do them properly yet due to circumstances beyond our control

Yep, if it’s more than just paddling around we’ll be between the flags 😎

Yep sorry I didn’t give much detail.
He’s confident in water (being Aussie!) but not a strong swimmer.
It’s for playing in the pool under supervision but it’d be good for him to Bob around out of his depth, and also wade out and play in the waves in the sea, again supervised.
Thanks for the advice so far, sounds like arm bands are the way to go.

Oh and if you’re looking for somewhere to eat, the Ryther Arms certainly used to be really good when I lived out that way.

Correct, there’s no cycle route from Cawood itself. Best thing to do is go over the bridge on the B1222 then join NCN65 at either Riccall here or a bit further up near Escrick here.

The first option is a little longer but NCN65 is nice from Riccall and the road that way if you turn right off the B1222 is a little bit quieter than going over towards Escrick.

It’s been quite a few years since I rode it but it’s the old railway line, it’s tarmac, there was a few places where the tree roots had grown under and pushed the tarmac up but that might have been repaired. I used to do it as my commute on a road bike with no issues.

It’s a really nice route to get into York, once you get near York you can either drop off back onto the B1222 just after Naburn and go in through Fulford (if you ride fast you can hold one deep breath when passing the sewerage treatment plant!) or carry on through Bishopthorpe and across the racecourse then drop onto the path up the river into town.

We regularly have this brown rice pasta, tastes really good, no weird texture and less of that bloated feeling of normal pasta.
It’s San remo so guess it’ll be available in UK too.
Only issue is the box is deceptive, it only contains two portions so is a bit more expensive than normal pasta.

In true STW style of recommending what you’ve got…

I just orderd the two pack of these TP-Link Deco X20 Voice as they’ve dropped to half their previous price. Not sure if they’ll be the same price on Amazon UK…

Gives the added extra of Amazon Alexa and a smart speaker which I was going to buy anyway.

Put an air hose down the neck of the boot and tighten round it with zip ties. Turn the compressor on and see what happens?

If you do decide to go with this please make sure you video it

There’s plenty of off the shelf self contained 3G/4G solutions for this, I kind of feel like it’s one of those projects where your scope keeps growing and then you’ve invested so much time / money by the end you regret it and wish out bought an off the shelf job.
    Have you looked at them?

Fun story… I moved into a new house here in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. One night the circuit breaker for the kitchen sockets tripped so I went out to the box to reset it. Forgot to take my phone so fumbled around in the dark to find the breaker and flip it.
The next day the agent sent a handyman round to do a couple of jobs, I mentioned the breaker tripping to him, he said lets go have a look in the box to see if there’s something obvious.
Opening the box in daylight I was met by this little critter…

I reckon the wolds would better suit what you’re after, have a look around millington, the ramblers rest tea room also does bed and breakfast.
Plenty of beautiful views along very quiet roads and there’s plenty of gravel stuff too and it’s also easy enough to get to York.
