More delays. Just been informed my Remedy 9.8 that was due this week is now delayed until the 28th November. This is the third date I’ve been given and it was ordered the fist day the Trek dealer system allowed it.

I rode a 2012 Rumblefish Elite all day on Tuesday, a demo loaned from my LBS. I didn’t expect to like it but it was great. It rode very well. I could definitely notice the difference with the new DCRV Forks.

Same here. Ordered a Remedy 9.8 as soon as i saw photo’s of it. I was told end of September delivery. That got moved to October the 17th so i sold my other bikes. Now i’m being told its definately going to be here the 7th of November though i’m not holding my breath.

Lots of other shops websites are quoting January or “call us” for the same bike. Might pop in today and get my LBS to double check. Last years were out Sept.

If anyone is still looking for an SB66, Leisure Lakes in Wolves has a few in stock and many more due to land any day. All sizes and colours apparently.

I Ache, ASC is talking about the off piste stuff. FC are logging through a lot of it.

Kayak is on about the surfacing on the official trails. Lots of pebbles (marbles) have been used in places. When they get wet or loose it can become slippy.

A chap in Salsa kit flew passed me a couple of times through the night and gave plenty of warning and also some thanks. Not that i would have cared if he hadnt, it was a race after all 😉 No. 250? something iirc.

My chain snapped just into the first bit of singletrack after the start, on one of my laps. Cheers to everyone who asked if i was ok as i was repairing it.

I can also confirm there were a large number of frogs on course!

Hi, no, thats not it. The rear end is different. The shock is mounted similarly but the chain stays curve downward to a pivot on the down tube on this one. Think it was a Heckler?

    Adam, two photo’s sent.

Stayed at the lakeside hotel a few times and can highly recommend it. Off there next week for four nights as it happens.

I lived there for six months just before the handover. Fantastic place. Many happy memories of Joe Bananas, Flying Pig, Mad Dogs Central, Jousters etc and the numerous little bars in Lan Kwai Fong and Wan Chai. Spent a fair bit of time at Happy Valley races too. I imagine its all changed a fair bit now but would love to go back. As others have said, Star Ferry, Victoria peak and Repulse bay are all great. Also seem to recall you could go up to a viewing floor in the Bank of China building.

BTW, they also saved near enough 4 pounds in weight over the cheapo suntour suspension forks that came standard on the bike!

£83 quid delivered direct from carbon cycles. I had the 46.5cm size as i was hoping the longer legs would help compensate for the 50mm G2 offset. I’ve ridden in Cannock Chase gloop all winter on and off piste and its been fine as a hack.

Presume you’re on about a 29er Marlin SS? Thats what i have as a winter hack. I used some exotic forks in the longer size, stuck some mud x on and a white industries freewheel and it’s been fine through winter.

I have a 2011 Trek 8000. I bought it over the 8500 purely because its the same frame and i liked the colours better on the 8000. I also knew id be changing the wheels and brakes, so it wasnt worth spending the extra. Ive had a few of these now. Great bikes.

Nick, Swinnerton Cycles at Cannock Chase have a big range of Hope wheels in stock and are a Hope Tech centre. Not too far away from you either if you’re near Shrewsbury, so you could pick one up rather than wait for delivery.

The whole of the Britsh Army changes to MTP (Multi Terrain Pattern) Camo in a few months, so there will probably be loads more of clothing, camel baks etc starting to appear on the site.

There’s no pockets in the desert ones above. You can get a tube and few bits in with the bladder though. The tube and bite valve are wider and way better than normal and are “click fast”.

Easier to go back with the receipt, however ive removed them before with a hot knife across the round part the pin goes into. There’s usually a cylinder of metal inside, but it just comes away after a minute of melting.

I went through something similar. They gave up in the end. I also received a few “we said we’d call” hand written notes… delivered by my post lady! Its just another scare tactic to get evaders to buy a licence. I also took exception to their lightly veiled threats, general tone and accusations of law breaking, despite doing nothing wrong. As there are millions of non payers, expect a genuine visit in a good few years, then simply say nothing and shut the door. There is loads on line about their powers (or should i say lack of them) if you search….

In Germany they advise a speed of 80mph, but there is no actual limit.

and Don Simon, in answer to you from the recently closed thread. I asked about the vaulter so i could find more pictures 😀

Anyone else see the irony in JB’s latest “The Last Word” article in January’s “What MTB”. Basically all about how he refuses to accept tardiness and a lack of punctuality from others..

I’ve served alongside US troops (and the US Navy) in the past, and have found them to be very professional. Different in a lot of ways, but professional. I’m sure those above slating them have very often fast roped into a Taliban stronghold in the dark, laden with kit, not really knowing what to expect, come under accurate hostile fire from a determined enemy and risked their lives for a stranger.

Its unfortunate she was killed, but “No plan survives the first contact with the enemy” and its certainly not the US SF’s fault.

You’ll be fine. Had a similar thing but i’d actually sold the house where my licence was registered too six months earlier. Dont worry about it.

Meindl Vakuum GTX for most the year. They have memory foam in the lining which mould round your feet when they warm it up. Super comfortable and durable.

Scarpa Manta’s for use with crampons or serious winter weather and/or high altitudes.
