My wife made the mistake of buying me an X-Wing last Christmas. Since then I’ve also invested in A Millenium Falcon and the VW Camper Van, though I’m trying hard not to open the boxes until my boy is old enough to help me build them. I’ve also been standing in the local toy shop like an idiot feeling The Simpsons mini figure bags. Addictive stuff.

I’ve just ordered it, so sod’s law means it will now be over in the first round or two. That said, I hope Froch wins for the same reasons as DezB. Whoever wins will beat DeGale, if he also wins. At least the undercard is reasonable. Some crabbies and a massive pizza will be primed.

I have a North Face Super Diez summit series jacket. Packs away small in its own pocket, 900 fill European quality Goose down and pertex outer so the odd shower wont hurt. Weighs about 14oz. Might be worth a look.

Shameless plug. If you do go down the 160mm route and need a shock, I have the latest Monarch Plus RC3 boxed, brand new never fitted, spare seals and pump etc with bushings fitted ready to bolt in a mojo HD. I changed my mind at the last minute and went the CCDB route. I have been meaning to list it on the classifieds a few weeks.

Merlin have X9 doubles for £75 at the moment including GXP BB. I believe X7 also have a removable spider, but double check first.

Yes. I run mine with an MRP bling ring. Here’s my Chameleon with X9 1×10. Three Torx bolts to remove the spider.

Edit: Type 2 rear mech works well also.

As campkoala says, you will probably suffer with the chain rubbing the inside of the stay/drop out. This happens even with 1×10. Ibis have just released a new mech hanger that pushes the frame out a fraction to combat this as people had been using washers or filing the frame. It will definitely be worth investing in one of these hangers imo. Hans at Ibis has told me 2pure are aware they are available and they should be in the UK in a few weeks. I run 1×10 now without issue and have 1×11 (32t) waiting to go on once my hanger arrives. More info here.

Thanks, I seem to sit between sizes according to giants charts.

Jamie, do you mind me asking how tall you are? I’ve noticed the giants sizing seems to have shrunk quite a bit from last year.

Maybe sizing? I’m after a medium.

I ordered one of those Giants to replace an older TCX, I’m being told Feb for delivery.

If its a Mojo HD, be aware that you may get some frame rub with HD 2.35’s at full travel.

I flew in there in 96 for a 6 month posting. Funnily enough only yesterday I found a Mad Dogs souvenir rugby shirt whilst having a clear out. Had some great nights there. And in Jump, Jousters, The Big Apple, Joe Banana’s etc etc ….. great city!

I bought a Frameskin from Australia for my Mojo HD. Good stuff and the guy (Mike if I recall) is a nice fella too. Funnily enough I live near Shrewsbury and hadn’t heard of Invisiframe.

Hamilton Khaki King Scuba Quartz would be my choice. I have a couple of Hamiltons. The quality is great for the money.

Better that than sounding like a watch geek mate. 😀

Toys, if you get the K version (no made in japan at 6 o’clock or 21 jewels on the dial) they are exactly the same watch but usually £20 cheaper. Apologies if you knew this already.

Boblo, the SKX J above (and its variants) are automatic, so no batteries.

I’ve got the black bezel, though I like the Pepsi bezel also. Great watches for the money.

I have some of these on order also. I was told the end of August by my LBS. Glad you have the same info.

Bit far for you I know, but Swinnertons on Cannock chase have a medium HD 160 demo and a medium Ripley. Also One Planet Adventure at Llandegla have a few HD demos. Only Ibis dealer I know down south is Moose Cycles within the Urban Death Maze.

I’m 5’9 and ride a medium HD. I’d say you’ll be a medium. They do size a bit small.

Just posted in another Chameleon thread on here.. I have just built up the new version as i wanted a versatile, fun hard tail. What swung it for me was the changeable dropouts if you want to run SS and also you can get a 650b in the rear.

I went for blue as i have a Vit P Mojo HD and the yellow was too similar to that and also the blue is really nice in the flesh.

I have just built up the latest incarnation. Fun bike. I’m 5’9 and have a medium. The new one has no ebb and removable dropouts for ss.

Hans asked owners on the mtbr ibis forum a while ago what people would like to see next and a 650b rear triangle to retro fit to the HD was mentioned a lot. If it is indeed a HD 650b I’m guessing it will be more a tweaked HD rather than a new design like the Ripley. Looking forward to seeing it.

Edit. Holy I’ll speak to my LBS again tomorrow and email you what they say if you like.

2pure have knocked 25% off the HD today. 650b HD-R out Monday is the word. Should be a 29er Tranny at some point too.

Flown back from SF twice, once Virgin and once BA. Virgin plane was much newer, better seats, cleaner, better t.v’s. Think a lot of it is luck of the draw though really…

Tehan, do you have 32T black SRAM spiderless rings in stock now?

    MrGFisher

All of the above is part of the SRAM conversion kit supplied with the BB. Usually in a separate little bag. You don’t need any of it if not running SRAM/TRUATIV. I have just fitted XX1 and needed all the above for it to work plus four 0.5 thin black spacers you should also have received.
