Adobe don't do OEM software so buying Illustrator from any company other than Adobe and their official dealers is likley to be a cracked, illegal version. Depending on what you want to use it for Illustrator may be a bit overkill so I would try Inkscape which is free and does 90% or Corel Draw (much cheaper). Adobe Fireworks is also worth a look (a cross between Photoshop and Illustrator mainly geared towards web design) and is my favorite.

Fiona Apple – "When the pawns hits…" is one of my favorite all time albums. Her others are good aswell.

Emily Haines (singer from Metric) – "Knives don't have your back" – is a cracking album if a bit of a grower.

Lhasa – "Lhasa de Sela" – she sings in spanish, english and french and her music is in a similar vein to Nick Cave and Tindersticks.

Alela Diane – Pirate's Gospel & Emily Jane White are both worth a listen (similar to Moriaty).

Have been reading this thread for a while. I don't know either of you but you have both been in my thoughts for the previous weeks.

    Wishing you good vibes.

If your shooting skyward like surfr's 3rd shot leave it in shutter priority. This will give you better control over motion blur and as the camera will sellect a smaller aperture you'll get a far larger depth of field increasing your chances of a focused shot. I would also set ISO to auto.

I would also recomend you doing some reading about the types of birds you will take photos of to learn about their natural behaviour so you can anticipate good shots.

Getting a lose crop by not zooming in to far is also a good idea so you have some leyway over composition post shoot and it makes them easier to sell later.

Start off doing about 80 kms per day rising up to between 100 – 150 depending on wind/terrrain (although I have done 350 kms just to see I I could though).

Normally set off at seven and ride till 12 ish, eat, drink, sleep and then ride until 8ish or when I see a good bar.

Tour with a bob yak/monoporter on a hartail with slicks and a set of high rollers lashed to the back.

Would rekon on 4 to 6 weeks including rest/ half days.

Get over yourself. You base your opinions on a twenty second exchange where a young, underpaid and probably poorly treated girl simply did her job. Says a far deal more about you than about her.

Victorinox or Henkels. Spend the money saved over expensive jap knives on a course to learn some knife skills.

I have a 5800 and love it. Guess it is a bit of a poor/tight/anti-Apple mans Iphone but TBH it does 90% of what the iphone does plus it has expandable memory, replaceable battery, uses Symbian and is not made by Apple.

Best riding to the east of Bordeaux around st emilion. Forest des Landes is slightly more boring than norfolk for riding.

We do not believe in free speech for Fascists.

Sorry, but hundreds of thousands of people went to war and died fighting fascists so that everyone could be allowed free speech.

It is a fundemental human right that we should be striving to give to all.

However, the right to be listened to is not a fundemental right and as such any efforts need to be targeted towards the media and communities at risk of being affected by the BNP. By petitioning politicians you will (and I hope) achieve nothing.

Flexible, grippy sole’d shoes make a huge difference and you have to sort of push back with feet on pedals and lift with handle bars.

Millau is worthwile, some nice riding in the area and around the bridge (there is a great trail under the left side of the bridge as you look out from town). Also check out the Georges du Tarn (*sp) which is very close by and defo the canyon du verdon which is reasonably close. As you will be near it would recomend Ventoux – may not be the highest HC climb but I rekon it’s one of the most stunning.

Slovenia/ Italian dolomites are also fantastic- I find riding in Italy to be better than in france and the MTBing is superb. Slovenia is beutiful but the people are really grumpy.

Did a similar thing a few years ago (cycled from Bordeaux to Croatia in three months) and had the best time of my life. Am jealous…

We’re safe in Europe. Sarko tried a similar thing over here in france last year (three strikes and you out type thing). EU told him where to stick it. He appealed, EU still told him where to stick it.
