Mine did this a couple of weeks ago – in desperation I let all the air out, turned the damping dial to max and min a couple of times, pumped it up (compressing the suspension every 50psi), swore at it it and magically it started working again.

It depends on the seat tube angle – steeper STA requires greater reach.

There was a second hand shop near me in Rennes, France that often had bikes set up with the front brake on the right … dunno if they were nicked or just being sold by skint ‘expats’.

The Adidas / Five Ten trailcross Gortex things are due out this year. I’ve got the lighter summer ones and they’ve been fantastic.

You need to contact a ‘Notaire’ in Corsica (there is usually one in each comune) – property law in France is a quagmire and rental law even worse….

The winter trailcross ones are due out in August. I’ve got a pair of the light summer ones and they’re fantastic. Will be getting a pair of the gortex ones as soon as they’re available.

When my lower back goes I just use a cricket ball between a wall and my back and sort of roll it around the area that locks up. Reduces the pain immediately (after a few seconds of hurts-so-bad-its-good) and normally by the next mornings it’s gone altogether. My GP prescribed me massages but the ball technique is far more effective in my case.

Getting a roller and bringing my knees in worked for me over couple of days. I’ve also made a makeshift ITBS band using an innertube and toothbrush whilst touring and it worked ok.

Is there any reason why people such as this aren’t tried for manslaughter?

On a side note avoid Formula 1s – sadly I know from experience both the F1s in Nantes and Rennes are infested with bedbugs…

I recommend Vidahost – never have any problems.

Don’t skimp on hosting and avoid ‘unlimited’ packages for 3 quid a month or whatever as they’re usually shite.

If SEO is important to you try to get your own IP and avoid shared servers – if you sharing with a blogspam site google WILL penealise you.

Also why is your blog on a different domain – this is exactly the sort of content Google wants!

Here’s an excellent article on the current Google Panda algorithm linky

Also Right click is disabled on the site which is a major usability and accessibility no-no and could well be effecting your ranking – there are better ways to protect images if required. The code is pretty horrible too and this won’t be doing you any favors.

There’s plenty of mountain biking in Jersey, you’re not looking in the right places

All the good stuffs cheeky though – check out the areas around the race track in the north west of the island, the cliff paths around Sorel and Egypt Woods as well as in St Peters Valley. Some nice stuff between St Aubins and St Brelades too.

I spent 5 years in the Royal Logistics Corps whilst finishing my A Levels / at Uni and had an almost identical experience to Santacruzi (you weren’t in 158 RLC by any chance?) -it definitely beat working at Tescos! I used to attend about two weekends a month + 1x drill nights per week (plus ski trips, WWII battlefield trips…) and as I was a student quite often went in during the week to act as the permanent staffs’ lackey. I didn’t get mobilized but was put onto ‘notice to move’ a couple of times – this was the late 90s/ early 2000s and things have changed now and the majority of my mates still in have all done active service.

If you feel you cannot commit to the ‘normal’ TA (I’ve forgotten the proper term…) you can become a specialist where you only spend a 20ish days per year training and you still receive the full bounty (bonus) .

Before contacting an Immobilier contact a Notaires office first – generally the fees are much lower and the rent is cheaper – usually someone will speak good English as well.

If you need a guarantor try contacting Loca-Pass

Immobiliers in France are the scum of the earth …. 😡

MrFart, how much faster to boot etc?

I run windows and it takes about 10 seconds from cold.

The biggest difference is in starting applications – Photoshop CS6 takes around 5 seconds / inDesign around about 20 / Skyrim takes around 2 – 5 seconds for each load screen.

Domain from GoDaddy (avoid getting your domains and hosting from the same place and avoid GoDaddy for hosting altogether).

For hosting I recommend either Rackspace(expensive) or Vidahost (cheaper).

So the only thing we really are ‘tied’ in to Apple for is apps and software updates, much the same as Android

    – On android you can install apps from anywhere if you want to by checking an option in settings.

Also consider Adobe Muse over Dreamweaver – I’ve used it for mockups before and it’s ok for small static sites – it would be a nightmare to convert to WordPress though.

I did a BTEC Music Technology and CG Sound Engineering about ten years ago. I don’t work in the industry but do work in a similar field as do most of my old classmates that I’m still in contact with. The course opens up a lot of doors into various technical media position and some of my class went on to study BEng at University.

I went here (formally Charles Keene) if it’s of any help.
