I’m sure CTC are on it.
    One for each LAF too.

    Crispy,
Did you search on this? There are lots of posts.

I have Specialised Deviant which I rate for comfortable AM. You wont be looking a prat in one of these (you dont want to worry about that..oh, wrong forum :-)) and it will be more robust than Cratoni or the Met designs.

^ yes that was mentioned in the link in the OP (which was good go see again).
I can say that on moorland, dogs are far more disruptive to ground nesting bird life than other users, especially when not under close control . I had some RSPB stuff on nesting distances from paths; I think it was 5m with no hounds, 50m with. Not sure whether these Friends stance on dogs might be consistent….

A formal trail network discourages off piste trails and wildlife can adapt.

There was a post some months ago to the effect that ground nesting birds appear to have moved their nests nearer to the new trails. One surmise was that they then felt safer from predators.

Fabric is thinner than my other CB but that keeps weight done which was another +. Had the version with mesh side pockets at first but when stitching on a zip went after almost a year CRC replaced it no probs with Charge LR. Bladder east to get out I find.

^ +1 . Better than older Mule; lower centre of gravity Is really good & like the accessible hip pouches.

+1 MCTD . If your not racing, CTC is the one , and usually cheaper but see the history .

I’m a CTC right to ride rep and LAF member which has a lot of momentum now & org support for
    MTBs.
I couldn’t in all conscience sign up to IMBA some years ago as they wanted you to agree you wouldn’t ride on footpaths. That might have changed.

Paul, as you will be seeing, most Friends of x don’t currently take a wider view, even where it makes ecological sense etc to encourage cycling. There is a good deal of old prejudices simply covering as conservationism around that need to be answered with evidence.

I suspect bikes are in and out too quickly and quietly to disturb bird life, which in woodlands are less ground nesting than in moorland . This would be seasonal of course, as should then be all access.

Whilst there is a Bambi effect, deer are very destructive of new tree & shrub shoots, which is just what you don’t want in a regenerating woodland. As a non-expert, I’d guess the numbers of all species present would drop with many such higher mammals present and no natural predators.

We work closely with Bradford Ornithological Group and I can pose the general question.

Don’t know this route but a drove road would likely have historical higher rights of access than by foot. This might have been behind the Definitive Map change you report and should apply on other sections too.

Locks, cable ; very good; but lack of mudguards alas make it unsuitable for the British climate…

    ^ + 1 .
On a thread a while ago someone reommended a weedsprayer from Screwfix. It’s 7l volume and hand pumps to pressures. It worked brilliantly once you get an adapter to fit on the valve. Cheap too.

Personally, I’ve never saw the need to spend more than 10-15 poond on the Endura ones.
Are expensive one that much better? Genuinely curious.

    Great karma +1.
I’m in Baildon but don’t have a tow bar car.

So STW moderators how about a free section?
    Could call it Freecycle?!

Just waiting for someone to ask for the Mavic tech site log in details.
A popular Groundhog Day thread on the STW massive.

Good heads up on how to fix this. Ill try it without the Mavic tool.
Rear hub on mine has this play but are really old Crossmax STR (?) though so no use for the OP; sorry.

Just posted on thatt thread above re free simple inner guide.

I wouldn’t recommend the Canyon rear hangers; brittle die cast. BETD CNC ones on other thread are way better.

Chain falls off granny ring on 2 x 9 on my Handsome Dog HT. Found an old reflector mount in a scrap box with a flat back plate and just the right diameter flexy clamp for the seat tube. Cut down a bit where weld joins to get it lower. Slight rotation and it’s just clear of the chain; briill, ace & fab. Five minutes and free.

I just added more when the tyre was loosing air. Rear needed it first.

Those pressures sound high. Down to 25 rear and 30 front for more techy stuff (not that I’m any cop on it, but hey, all the gear..).
30 & 35 max. NNics rear HD front.

There was a thread about cleaning out old gunge recently…

    nbt +1

Many paths were labeled as footpaths in the 1950’s though were frequently designated as footpath without reflecting the long historical use for horses, carts etc. which would have giving cyclist a right to use (on the bike; pushing it and you are a pedestrian).

If we want open access to all PRoWs for bikes in England (as in Scotland ) though we do need to balance needs & rights of other users and the environment.

Both my Canyon Nerves have an adapter plate to take it from the old ISCG to ISCG 05 standard. But you should be able to get a chain device for either. You might struggle with a downtube type because of the forming of the tube in that area. Its an E2 FR mnt too but without BB clamping.
I’ve got MRP dual on ; works well but I know what you mean about the price. I’ve already trashed one bottom guide cover and that’s 19 quid.
Some people on here got that adapter FoC I’m sure from Canyon UK. Four quid for bolts seems excessive as does 15 quid carriage!

“Once the bearings in the BB pivot are removed, are the chainstays then free to be detached?” That’s what I remember , yes, pulling firmly but carefully.
“Also did the superstar bearing puller work on the bearings at the wheel axle pivot?” I think the bearing puller helped but it was all some months ago now. the BB one with the cylindrical bush; think I had to knock it out with a chisel, usual finesse.
New bearings all popped back in ok tho.

I’ve PDFs of 2011 & 12 if anyone needs them; email in profile.

DH jerseys have a looser fit. I’ve a POC one which is great but dear. No loud logo (which is my taste too).

Or fro pads there is this Subgear top again:

“The ground will always win..” +1

The force of Earth’s gravity on (= the weight of) a human being with a mass of 70 kg is approximately 686 N.

BTW, that 661 body armour is Subgear:

As commented, it won’t help your ribs unless there is something to stick into you (rock, phone, hand, bars etc), but that is common. Good for compression too and not too warm.

Ground clearance is just that bit better with 170mm; esp with the low BB on the Canyon. got it on all my bikes.

Yeah, crack on. When your better, go back & nail the jump & tick it off the fear list. I’m 55 and while my skills are getting better recovery times don’t. Some crashes are inevitable but the 661 body padded top & Deviant FF helps,
