    Cheers all.
Looks like XT med cage should do well. E70 from http://www.bike-discount.de/

Thanks Stato; I’d seen that (I always search 1st); useful but not the whole picture for me. I’ll look again at the other threads for updates though.

Cardboard bike delivery box from your LBS should be FoC.

You’ve done your bit by getting him into MTB, My four sons do commutes only, so far. That’s when they’re not a skateboard!

Sat in the sun for a tan & an overheating high, waited until 7 when it was cooler then a fast run 2hr round Baildon Moor. Beer really tastes better after a cracking ride.

North Pennines sound tough. It was rough even drirving them. But why would want to do all that only to end up in Sunderland??!

I lived in the North East for 20 years and went there 3 times. Followed the signs to the city centre and ended up are on the top of a multistorey carpark. It was empty though. Class act.

Had some (free) tickets to see England under 21s at R(j)okerPark. Couldn’t see because of the pillars. My memory of Roker Park is coloured by the mother-in-law’s, who as a child (80+ years ago)fell in a pond there before the football ground was even built…

What could be cool is going to the end of South Shields pier; now that’d be a good ride!

Tape head cleaner IPA wil be pure as any residue is bad; as it wld be for forks or brakes. Meths does have a residue; coularant and nasty taste additives, but probably ok for bike work.
I stil have some trike but its been banned for a while…

When I was a student in Newcastle I tried to buy some IPA from Boots to clean the heads on my tape recorder (yes it was some years ago). The chemist refused because he thought I my drink it or distill . In the town (sorry: Toon) where you could buy a drink when you were 11!

Glad you are Ok & that you are ready to chase this. Good one!
Failing to stop & to report is at least 6 points.

CTC or BC would take this up for their members.

Yes, got a new Specialized Deviant for more technical rides (ie above my skill level).
I found my teeth don’t grow back.
Breaths well & gives good protection. Light & stylish IMO

Transport & planning authorities are gering better in consulting with cyclists and other so-called vulnerable user groups in provision for routes, access, and things like supermarkets being planning. Find out who they are and get involved!

I had some Toros a few years ago and they were a massive improvement over the hard rubber Panaracer Fire XCs but I then found that the NN and HD is were loads better again. They suit me anyway!

I really like mine but only been on less than a year. Thanks for the info; I’ll know to look elsewhere.

So they deter thieves but do they give you more torque & so a stiffer ride?

I had one one my 2011 Canyon and a warranty 11 or 12. Is the hive saying problems remain??

Really? Is that what that nice shiny collet looking thing is for; bust-ness?
Might stick it in the tool wallet now.

I did all that set up stuff to the mm but ended up doing it by
feel, adding air if you are twatted up the a@rse on a bigger bump. Simple

    Or is it just me?

Stainless is cool, but calibrated or “for indication only”??

We had fun with those “for indication only “stickers when QA gave them out before ISO9001 inspection, stuck them on monitors & TVs (yeah, engineers geek humour)

Seem to be a lot of wierd things to go wrong with Reverbs but most easty sorted but getting seat clamp at right torque and getting more air into it. Mine loses uppy pressure if its left down overnight but pumps up ok

When my kids were little they were really into stickers; Pokemon. WWF, Barp (sic) Simpson. Used to raise excitement when we went past Sticker Lane in Bradford on the way to the motorway.
Its full of car showrooms now so no use to the OP.

Not really an overtake as the snake was t moving but as a kid ( in New Jersey) I bombed down a trail through the woods at the end of our deadend street . Just in time, I saw a copperhead sunning itself in the middle of the path. Biggest jump I ever did. Didn’t look back….
(The local rattlesnakes weren’t full on diamondbacks and copperheads are one down from there; but an adder wld be a be flea bite)

    Cue Aussie posts:

The seat tube flared guide busts easily and need careful secure alignment ( watch the bending of the to gland on the seat post collar) . TF Tuned do spare ones.
On my Canyon the u bolt clamps under top tube need careful angling too so IMO its worth get right. bits. Seem en CRC or web somewhere (vague & not entirely helpfulI know).

Used Superstar for a few years. Like the colours
range and feel . Low cost with replacement cartridges but life is short.

Yes that IE problem Is really poor; got to be an earlier version too. Bradford have a new system in hand that is meant to be more compatible & generally loads better. All TBC though.

I would encourage everyone to get onto ther councils or local access forum to request upgrades of status, report discontinuities & blockages.

I have Fox RP & Talas which have similar clicky action controls. OP: might well be same as spring loaded ball that clicks for fork adjustment, though dont think its needed mechanically. You can buy these as spares but any small bearing that fits should do. Hope that applies to shock too.

    Dales rider,
Cheers for the OS map. Wonder what the Defintive Map withe council map says. You can raise that anomaly with your ROW team. May well be older higher rights for horses.

I’ll ride that BW-FP when I’m up there in 6 weeks or so. A change from the Mastiles loop from Kilnsey.

    Friend of mine’ s line:
“Do you know this is footpath?”
    “Oh really, crazy isn’t it?”

Ordered a full dust & seal kit from TF Tuned and they threw in a few for free just for asking . Great service!

And that’s just the OS map! Local authority Defintive Map might have even more. Good number of BWs is good to see. Guess you’ll keep the school kids off these tho to keep them safe from bikers….

Good to see the Malverns. The contours got my attention again. Years since I walked it…

So what’s best method to get the old dried stuff off? Just try to roll it into a ball or are there easier ways?

    mrelectric

I have Mallets of various ages on all 3 bikes but don’t clip in that often. New ones are quite grippy unclipped like a flat so best of both.
You might be able mod the shoe using a internal clamp plate from an old pair to offset the cleat onto the shoe.
The CBs looser float v Shim is meant to be better for your knees etc. Setting cleats right back might effect that. You won’t get the same power pedalling either.

We are getting the point over for Baildon Moor, as you’ll know.

Sometimes they get you back on the excess. Mine went up to £250 after one theft claim .

AA put my renewal quote up by a large amount but they called me after an email & we soon got a much better price

Loco , if order a 32 mm Fox SFK seal kit from you what would be a set of foam seals for next time cost please ?
No joy on my earlier thread.

I took off the QR on my Reverb and put a bling Sstar one which was easier to torque right to avoid a sticking post. Lever caught shorts too & its now less likely to get nicked.

    Mrmo & others.
Recording as a footpath doesn’t mean higher rights don’t exist . The old turnpike is a good case in point. We have a lot packhorse routes around here, some have been changed to BWs.
I’ve also asked the local Council for certain footpaths to be reassessed; it takes time but have had some success. (Re OP: yes there are some FPs I ride but at off-peak times; sensibly).
I’m a member of the Local Access Forum (Bradford) but anyone can ask for a new PRoW or a change to an existing one.
In the long term, the law needs changing but we all need to be making the case.

Cheers. Loco have min order charge of £10.
A search didn’t unearth many sellers. Any suggestions from the hive?

Yes, guess you’d need more for DH, but the 661 is good for less full-on and longer rides.

I can’t read this; way too scary!
I’ve been knocked off twice just riding in a normal position. l’ll stick to off-road where any & all twatting is self-induced.

Mine older FS is a Rock Springs 07 . (See other posts a few months ago on the Quad/tara love-in) Still really like it and have spent time & £ upgrading it but next to my Canyon AM it does somehow seem really flexy @ rear. Not sure it was always like that. I’ve changed shock bushings which helped. Tightened pivots too. Some is deffo rear wheel( old Mavic SLR). Bearings or pivots might need another look. Is it the bearings or pivots that have lifetime warranty? Is it a trip to the LBS I bought it from ?
Not much help for the OP but answers might apply to mine too. Cheers.
