Watched the first 3 episodes and its no BOB yet. Characters come out a bit more in ep3 but its a fairly dull episode.

I like the look of the Oprey Raptor, apart from the price! Will try to have a look at one in cotsworlds today.

I think the main problem is called by having the Mule bulging with kit and hence it digs into my back.

Will have a look at the options above.

Has anyone tried an Evoc pack?

This is the second loop and by far the better of the two. Combine with the first resevoir loop for a longer ride.

Pitch – I'd be gagging to try the new forks, especially expensive ones.

Full face – £50 – Much more protection.

I dont see why you wouldnt buy one unless you plan on just doing xc stuff.

Some of the cheaper Deisal jeans have a nice cut and more classy design. I prefer them to Levis.

Carhaart nice too but some are baggy.

I guess if your after a "freeride" bike there are tougher options out there.

I have a 2007 Meta 5.5, so does a mate. Another two have 2008 models and after 2+ years of riding in the alp, scotland, wales etc none have broke.

They are a seriously fun bike for the money/travel. Guess they are just not cool anymore!

Could you not add heating to the vent system and do away with the rads?

Just bought some and used them for footy training on wed. Kept them on for 2 hours after and my legs felt noticably fresher the day after. I have the normal compression ones but plan to mainly use them for recovery and the odd training/running session. Didnt get the recovery ones as they have feet which I wasn;t sure about.

Worth the money imo. Use the sizing chart on the skins website – they're meant to be tight.

Do you have the small split roller? Do you think they are big enough for a weeks worth of clothes and a few bits and peices?

I want an Evoc one with back protector so the bladder doesnt dig into my back (like it does with my MULE).

B&Q and some wood. If you have the cash and think you'll use it several times then buy the £30 one.

Homemade are obviously not as good (unless you spend some time making it) but they do the job, just got to take your time.

Organic – Good bite from cold, good performance in the dry, dont last as well in the wet.

Sintered – Harder wearing, better when warmed up (IMO) – good option for the UK

Kevlar – Like organic but harder wearing, apparently the best of both worlds.

3.5 mile commute, all but the worst weather:

Same rear light as pic above, plus an extra cheap on on my RHS. Exposure Joystick up front.

Front mudguard – One of those £7 under the fork jobs, cant remember the name.
Rear mudguard – Not essensial, make your bike look rubbish but very useful. Need to get one really.

Full cycle gear, dont want to turn up to work sweaty with wet, muddy, ripped trousers. Its also a lot more comfy to cycle in cycle gear and faster.

New Evoc packs look very nice. Dont think you can buy them in the UK yet though.

Any ideas on how to minimise lever movement before the bite point on the new M810 saints? The little srew adjust doesnt seem to do much.

Oh – single ply, maxxis sidewalls are pretty strong and the weight penalty of the dual plys is not worth it unless your getting a lift to the top!

I'd go for 62a for front and rear. The 42a are fanastic tyres for grip but not for pedelling! 2.1" front and rear works for me, I'd rather have a quicker setup. The 2.35" ones are a fair bit chunkier with bigger knobs so will offer more grip.

Go for a 2.1" on the back though, less rolling resistance. Advantage also good on the back as is a crossmark in the summer.

I ordered 2 innertubes and a tyre – £27 – paid £7 on my paypal account. Order complete and dispatched, not had an email asking me to pay the extra £20.

    Hopefully got a bargain!
