A friend has had there 2.0 TDI Golf ‘fixed’ and she says it feels slower, particularly at lower revs. She only got it done as wants to sell it and is under the impression that she needed to.

I’ll be leaving mine for a while.

Always a bit worried that plastic bag type ones will slip out of the jersey pocket.

Leznye one looks good but will it fit bigger smart phones?

I did contact them after a week but didn’t get an update, just “it normally takes 2-3 weeks”.

Not too fussed about the colour as long as they give me a new fork to match.

Woody that doesn’t sound like the same issue as mine unfortunately. Clicking only just started a year after new clutch.

I’m not hugely concerned about the cost of replacing the cam belt and water pump but the clutch does slightly concern me as no where on the internet can I find a solution or examples of it being fixed.

Eventually I will need to buy a new car so I was just wondering if now (5 years old, 60,000 miles) was a good time to bite the bullet.

Plus I do fancy an estate!

I’ve only owned it for 20 months but have had the following:

    1. New clutch and gearbox housing due to a bit of the clutch breaking off.
    2. New shock absorber.
    3. Clutch pedal clicks on pressing and releasing – very annoying!
    4. Suspensions sometimes sounds like a bag of spanners.

I have a pair of old x9 9 speed shifters I no longer need. Both work fine, email if you’re interested.

Drop the gpx files in the ‘new files’ folder and they will auto load as courses when you start up the device.

Where is the Lev available for £140?

Just ordered my 11 speed cassette and mech, wish they had the xtr shifter in stock too!

    It is a triple chainset.

Tempted by 1×11, thought my old hub wouldn’t be able to accept an 11 speed cassette but appears it will.

    3) – I just mean BB and cranks – will buy a narrow wide chainring. Is there any benefit in buying a dedicated single ring chainset?

I have a set of Mavic Askiums up for sale if you’re interested. They have done approximately 400 miles and are in very good condition – after £60 for them and based in Leeds if that helps.

So the general concensus is that I will not notice any difference?

7.02 for the 140km route. Nice and early so might actually make it round. Weather forecast not great!

I’d get a guide. We went a few years ago and would have either been very lost or missed out on a lot of good riding if we didn’t have a guide.

Begrudgingly paid the money and drove my car only to find it making the same noise! Now back at VW….not amused to put it lightly!

My cat is ready to collect so I’ll see what they say later today. I’ll try to argue the case for a parts failure but don’t want to push too hard in case I get a £2600 bill! Maybe time for a BMW next time…

Would recommend Rob at Expresscarbodywork.com, fixed the scuffs on my bumper last week. Very helpful and did a great job – can’t tell the difference now!

I think I’ll risk a Large. Have Castelli bibshorts in Large and they are ‘fitted’ but they are suppose to be tight!

    I got a Morso Badger:

Sounds about right. I’d probably spend a bit more on the stove unless you have a particular model/bargain in mind.

Just had one installed in my front room and it was just over £2k but the stove was £850 and I knocked out the fire place/chimney breast myself and bought (not installed) the stone hearth myself.

Short journeys in modern deisels are apparently a no no plus the servicing will be more.

I’m swaying for the Golf as the E91 interior is about 20 years behind the Golfs IMO.

There is no shower at my new work (yet) so I’ll be driving most of the time.

The 2.0 Golf take it into the GTI range which are very expensive, you can get a 160BHP 1.4TSI but this isnt the most reliable engine from what I’ve read.

330i sound nice but insurance and tax wont be cheap.

Robert Welch Signature Series. I’ve had one for over a year now and its still razor sharp with using the sharpening tool every now and again. really nice feel and not stupidly expensive.

    Good luck with the training!

My parents have one and when she was younger she was very hyper active even after long walks. They need a lot of attention but are amazing dogs. Wouldn’t trust ours for going out biking.

I have the 65L version and used it for 2 week skiing holidays (with board bag too) and week/weekend biking trips. Unless you take a load of clothes on holiday or hav a lot of body armour for biking I’d go for the more versatile 65L.

I think if you’ve accepted that its over then you’ve made a big step.

You’re bound to have good days and bad days but try to get out there and do things with other people.

I feel your pain. My girlfriend broke up with me 2 days before Christmas and I’m still struggling now.

You’ve got to believe that things will get better and time will heal a broken heart. Get yourself out in the world, do things with friends (make the effort) and try to have fun. If posting on here helps then do it but don’t over think things, you were happy before and you WILL be happy again.

If its the same one that I saw on my ride to work it was on the corner of harrogate road where Chapel Allerton meets Chapel Town.

I saw the cyclist face down and not moving, did not look good. The police were there at the time but no ambulance. Hope they are ok.

I have an ’11 Covert built up with some fairly strong components. I agree with the neutral ride feeling and think to get the best out of it it needs to be pushed. Very composed bike that will do everything from 50km cross country rides to alpine uplifts. Love mine.
