Second the Saints – they’re worth the money. Had a quick go on my mates Hopes Tech M4’s and they didn’t come close performance wise.

Cheap – Avid Codes, not as powerful as the saints but pretty good.

Annoying how they changed their sizing. The old medium was too small and now the new large is too big! Do like the Bella in sella.

Very jeleous. Is the frame second hand and if you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay for it?

    Love the colour.

VW GOlf 1.6, don’t hammer it and currently on 25k miles for the front two with about 1.5mm left before they need changing. Rears are on about 20k with about 4mm left. Bridgestone ER300 I think – will be buying them again!

In an ideal world a bit of both. Have a Mech Eng degree and design experiance but not in components.

I used to live in Chapel Allerton and its pretty good as bars & restaurants on your doorstep but you pay for it. Now live in Moortown where you get more for your money. I’d recommend:

    Moortown
    Roundhay
    Chapel Allerton
    Alwoodly

Basically north leeds avoiding the sh*tholes. Don’t know much about south leeds im afraid.

I got an email but none of the pics will load – how do I view the private sale?

Don’t have one but a mate does. He says it would be better without the chest pads as does get a bit hot, other than that he likes it.

£180 is very expensive. It pays to do everything you can yourself, even if it means buying tools.

Agree the newer tee’s seem less ‘slim fit’ than the older ones.

Definitely disks for commuting, especially if you plan to in winter. I’ve found the less gears the better for commuting due to maintenance and exercise. If your not going to use it off-road I’d go for a rigid fork.

For the past 2 years I’ve used Udderley Smooth and swear by it. Interested to know if the agricultural version is the same but cheaper?

I read in a mag once (think it was MBR) that udder cream from a farm shop is the same stuff?

Minion DHF 2.35 up front with an avdantage 2.1 or crossmark 2.1 rear. For drier conditions are more xc biased I use advantage front, crossmark rear.

Started on a hardtail, bought a full suss and after a year built up a hardtail for winter and xc blasts. I sold the hardtail after 4 months.

I love my full suss and cannot imagine a hardtail been as fun or quick down hills. Each to his own I guess.

Worth £65 for maxle as oppose to QR?

Yeah got a Hope Pro 2 hub. Got a feeling the spare dropouts that came with my bike might be the 10mm bolt through one.

Thanks, the spare dropout(s) are back at my parent so i’ll have a look next time I’m home. If I have the correct pair looks like a worthy investment for £35 ish including the hub conversion.

Not sure I can afford the maxle option.

Get a beard trimmer if you want stubble. I’ve been using one for years and they’re brilliant. Look on amazon for braun, remmington, philips etc.

Avoid 2008, 2009 and maybe 2007. As above 2010 onwards they changed factory (I think) and are supposedly better.

Mine is 5-6 miles depending on route and always wear cycle kit. Would wear short and T-shirt anyway as have a shower at work so may as well wear my cycle kit.

Just hit it with a big hammer and blunt screwdriver – it will be fine.

ODI Ruffian – The copies are cheaper but not as good and don’t last as long.

I have a Blackspear one but not sure of exact model. They’re pretty similar to E13 turbocharger and about the same price – I’d get something like that.

I swapped my outer ring for a bash over two years ago and never missed it. I’d go for it.

There is the oxfam furniture shop near huddesfield and a small charity furniture shop in chapel allerton near the tesco garage.

I was in a similar position a few months ago but none of the charity shops, ebay or freecycle proved any good. Gave up and went to Ikea!

In this weather get yourself to the Dales, wealth of routes although not loads of tech stuff. Out of Dalby or Gisburn I’d go for Gisburn.

SS Kevlar are pretty good and seem to last although they don’t have the power of original shimano sintered pads.

You could just tape them up with midical tape.

I bought an ixus 130 earlier this year. Initially I was a bit disappointed coming from a DSLR but for the size/money I think its a great little camera.
