What was the carbon meta issue?

That is slightly annoying as don’t think I can wait that long, even more annoying if you’ve pre ordered one.

Yeah emailed Decade and they got to me the next day. Give them a call and post up on here if possible. I need a new frame soon to replace my broken one but I’d wait a few weeks for the AM.

Interesting, especially from the Whistler guides.

According to the UK distributor and various bike shops they will be available in about a month and be £1650 ish (can’t remember exactly) for frame only with shock and they have a 2 year warranty and 160mm forks are covered in that.

Anyone else ridden the Meta AM?

No not tested any yet but doubt i’ll get a demo on a Meta AM unless I wait a while.

Whats the sizing on the Covert like? I’m 6 foot which puts me in between the medium and large.

I’m thinking of buying one too but also tempted by the new Meta AM. Would like to hear peoples thoughts too about the Covert.

Unfortunately trek normally only do a frame only option in carbon which wont be cheap. Lots of nice 160mm frames around the £1500 mark but agree the Slash looks very nice.

I have mine with NFU Mutial and have my bikes listed on my insurance policy. In addition to the usual theft coverage my bikes are also insured against breakages unless I’m racing in competitions (which I don’t).

Currently going through an insurance claim after breaking my frame in a crash and so far so good, also had good experience when my bike was stolen at uni.

    Apparently M&S is good too.

I also think they need to sort out the jumps at the bottom of the DH course as most of them are badly shaped.

Yeah the black is part of the downhill course.

Based in Leeds but the roof rack is at my parents in Ripon although I’m going back there this weekend so can pick them up. Think they are the official vw ones.

    What reg is that?

I had P reg Polo 3 door and I had a roof rack on that, might even still have it in the garage if your interested? I think it clamped onto some slots on the roof.

I’m in a similar position and am thinking:

    Transition Covert
    Orange Alpine
    SC Butcher
    Commencal Meta AM
SB66 if I had the money

I didn’t bother and 2 years on the bolts are still in place.

Thanks, that makes my mind up about not going to hospital. What about playing football and cricket – bad idea?

I like the look of the 2012 Fox Vans, the price however is insane.

That’s interesting because I’m coming off a Meta 5.5 which I absolutely loved. The only bad thing about the Meta was that it felt skitty on rough descents.

I think the G Spot is about £2k for the frame – looks very nice though.

I’m going to pop into Crosstrax on saturday to speak to them about it and I need to get a quote anyway as its going through my insurance.

150mm at the back doesn’t bother me as long as it will handle places like the alps for a week.

The Mega looks hard to handle for an all day riding bike.

Around the £1400 for the frame.

Northernstar – check out the news, these thugs need to be off our streets. Innocent people have died and yet some are still defending the scum bags who are keeping good honest people out of their own towns.

When/how will the riots stop if the police don’t use force?

Police use force to protect the public – shocking! 8O

I saw the little scrote that was interviewed on sky news last night in Manchester. He had a very similar view to the kid on the BBC link above, thinking nothing was going to happen to him so it didn’t matter.

These people obviously have no moral direction in their lives and regardless of whos fault that is, why should the honest, hard working public stand for the behaviour we have seen over the last few nights?

If this continues joe public will make a stand as currently the police cannot control the situation (by no means a dig at the police). It needs to be nipped in the bud now, no more moving people on to cause damage elsewhere – deal with the problem. I’ll leave it at that before some people on here get start talking about human rights…..

I didn’t think much to crosstrax in Adel. Took my wheel in to be trued, came back 4 days later, paid, walked to car then realised they hadn’t actually done it. Missed a weekend of riding.

When they did do it the following week (not the next day or that afternoon as you might expect) it wasn’t completely right.

I’ll be going back to Moonglu in Ripon near my parents in future – they’re excellent.

Yep – Excellent service here and cheaper than the alternatives.
