    Rockshox Tuning Help

Try this for a start. I have the same forks but am heavier. I’m struggling with all the settings so also interesting in peoples thoughts.

Schwalbe – 18 bikes if your local or merlin.

Not convinced about the sempatap thermal imagining – seems to have also done the windows and even the hedge outside!

We just want to do a quick decorating job on the room so rendering sounds expensive.

Thanks for the advice, I wasn’t too convinced that about 10mm would make a big difference. Prob best spending the money adding more insulation to the roof.

Go to the German market near the lgi and have a beer and sausage.

Not sure but don’t think so. Its an old house and the wall is really thick.

No its not damp but it has 2 external walls (one mainly window), pitched roof above and a virtually unheated space adjacent.

Don’t like the idea of 100mm think!

    As above Afan is boring.

Luckily my orange contract runs out in 2 weeks and I’ll be calling them to say I’m leaving. Not been too impressed with orange recently and their prices seem on the high side.

I’m a shade under 6 foot and ride a medium covert.

I like my covert but not fully tested its capabilities yet. I came off a Meta 5.5 which I loved – such a fun bike. Still getting used to the covert but overall it seems very versatile.

As said above its not too expensive compared to the competition and a very good all round bike for someone who enjoys riding everything and maybe does the odd DH day or alpine holiday. The 2012 has 12mm rear which is probably worth getting over the 2011 version. I also like the new blue colour.

Not an rare as they used to be, seem to be the in bike at the mo!

I know the old 2007 had the shock mount on the seat tube for the large and xl, small and medium on the top tube.

    Different sizes I believe.

Tried flats for the first time 2 weeks ago and loved it. Found it more fun and involving but worse and less comfortable on the climbs. I’m going to use both but for longer rides will stick with spds.

Saw it a while ago – pretty impressive and not much room for error.

I just looked at the Tignes webcam as going snowboarding there in a few months. Had to double check the date but unfortunately it is live!

Yes. I bought one for £55 and find it more comfy than Camelbak Mule or Opsrey Raptor.

Not too many fancy pockets or organisers and where they put the hydration bladder holder is a but funny but overall its a nice bit of kit and only £40 now from CRC.

I’ve used the Nikwax down wash in the past and tumbled dried. Worked well and the jacket still has lots of puff.

Orange Alpine (maybe a bit too much bike)
    Commencal Meta AM

I went for the covert and very happy with its all round capabilities.

Most comfy pack I have used and added protection. Bargain price.

    Afan – Very, very dull
Dalby – Good start but the rest is boring
Marin Trail – Again pretty boring and too much fire road. Not been in ages though.

I was tempted to put Gisburn in after trying the Hope line for the first time at the weekend. Why put dirt style jumps at an MTB venue? Very disappointed.

Don’t think you can get Lapierre frame only. Others to think about:

    Transition Covert
    Trek Scratch
    Yeti SB66

I have just gone from 140mm-160mm and yes it is more than you need for most UK riding but if you want one bike for everything and are quite an aggressive rider then 160mm is a good option.

Yes in 12mm and 10mm versions.

Might let it out to 200psi and see how that feels tomorrow.

I was torn between the orange and raw but went for the orange. A little part of me wishes I went silver still. Very nice.

What pressure you running in the rear shock? I’m 12.5 stone and have 220psi which seems like a lot.

I wonder if anyone outside STW has a fat bike. Not my cup of tea but each to his own, angles look a bit weird though.

Shimano or magura for me. Easy to bleed and reliable. I have saints which are insanely good but slx or Louise would be my choice on a tighter budget.

It sold in 2003 for £125k. Id say a tidy £25k profit considering the times is not too bad.

Anyway, no point banging on about it, if they wont even entertain £150 with a counter offer then I see little hope of me getting it. I’ll offer again in 4 weeks time if its still on the market.

As of sunday I will be living with my parents rent free until I find a house. I will save a lot of money doing this so I am in no rush.

Lot of people at work telling me to put £152k in as its worth it…..

I run one on the rear all year long – solid performer. Run one on the front in the summer and dry conditions for xc but prob wouldn’t put one on the front all year round.

Feel free to chip in for the deposit.

    *Update*

The EA mortgage advisor rang me to ask ‘qualifying’ questions’. At least they seem to be taking this offer more seriously. Fingers crossed.

Offer in – 150k, final offer. The EA said they thought this would be too low and I doubt it will be accepted. If not ill offer again in a months time if its still available.

In the meantime the search continues.

Thats not a bad shout petrieboy. They have tried to advertise the mortgages they can offer.
