Been here almost a week and I have to say Majorca isn’t brilliant value. Prices are similar and sometimes higher than France?Alps but the quality isn’t as high. Great weather but they need to think a bit harder about their pricing if they want me to come back.

Priced to keep the riff raff away. Head along to Magaluf if you want cheaper prices.

My wife is due to give birth in 12 weeks to our first. After 15 years of trying and nothing it’s somewhat of a surprise as we had given up hope of ever having children.

Yep, to Mallorca last weekend. Better than the average low cost airline and decent legroom.

Is there a link to this road book ?

There might be but I don’t know. I copied and pasted from my cycling clubs website.

So pleased for you. My wife is 17 weeks pregnant and (touching wood) everything going ok so far. Until baby is born I’m still worried something may go wrong or baby is poorly.

My wife been pregnant is a little miracle for us as we were trying for 15 years without success, had all the tests and thought without going the IVF route she was not going to get pregnant. We went away for my 40th, “connected” on my birthday night and what you know she got pregnant!

It’s a shame they had to include the women in short tight dresses, imo.

There’s too much objectification of women like that in sport (again, imo)

    FFS. 🙄

Didn’t you ever do something at school you didn’t want to tell your parents and/or they never found out? Ignore the telltale it’s really not worth letting a child wind you up.

I’m a contractor currently working nights in a public building in Bradford and have set up a temporary office in the basement plantroom. There has been several occasions in the early hours of the morning where I’m aware of something passing behind me but there’s nothing there when I look.

This building has several underground tunnels adjacent to the plantroom that link a few different buildings together and I’ve recently found out that these tunnels were used to store bodies after the Hillsborough stadium fire. It just feels really spooky.

On my last project a couple of people each had mobile caravans, once you factor in 7 days a week ground rent if you’re not moving it and electricity and also buying the thing it didnt work out much cheaper than what I was paying at a pub.

Good luck in winter, it gets very cold!

I’ve done plenty of Monday to Friday working away from home and have stayed in a variety of places. I get a weekly amount to pay for accomodation but always try and make a little. As mentioned before depending on where you are working Travelodges are a good option. I worked in Oldham for 12 months and there was three I moved between for the best rate. Used to book 6-8 weeks at a time and payed as low as £10 per night, the average probably was £19-£23 per night.

Last year was working in Holbeach Lincolnshire and stayed in a local pub, was basic but got an evening meal rather than breakfast and was only £25 per night. Local no frills pubs are always a good option too.

Final places were bed & breakfasts but these seem to be getting quite expensive now at £30 plus per night.

The cost of owning a car to me far out ways the inconvenience of not owning one. Excluding fuel and depreciation my car costs under £1k per year or less than £20 per week to run and that’s for a relatively new C Class Mercedes. I own the car outright and fuel is covered by work. I couldn’t rely on public transport as it just isn’t possible to get to my work places by it.

If you have a family or that’s the only car in the household I wouldn’t sell.

I always used to use Pirelli tyres on my C Class Mercedes but swaped to Falken ZE912 about two years ago and noticed no difference at all. The ZE912 has been updated with the ZE914, just had four of these fitted before Chrismas and again no problems. They seem like a good mid range tyre.

she is delightful, but I got into trouble when sat with my aging parents watching Countdown when I said that in dresses like that she has probably finished off more pensoiners than Harold Shipman.

Or more likely, more pensioners have shall we say “finished off” whilst watching her on Countdown wearing those dresses.

There was story from a few years back about the woman who reads the R4 shipping forecast getting letters asking her to read the forecast slower so the salty sea dogs could finish off before the end.

For clubs it has to be the one and only The Gallery. Rumour has it that a single bloke once didn’t pull in there.

It’s now called Kuda but pulling is still compulsory!

Banyan Bar, 1331, Evil Eye, House of Trembling Madness, Pivni to name a few. Clubs in York aren’t great, we tend to end up in the Stone Roses Bar.

I use Quidco, not everything tracks but you can put a claim in to get the money owed. I’ve had just short of £1k back in about 3 years. I normally let it build up to £250 or so the transfer it into my bank account. I’ve bought nothing I wouldn’t have just use whatever works out cheapest. Car insurance is a good one for big money, just taken a policy with Aviva and it’s going to payout £80.

Hopefully a fairly civilised affair tonight in a small selection of York’s finest real-ale pubs.

That’s my plans for tomorrow, there’s a good selection now!
