I love Nine Inch Nails a few years ago in Manchester, THE best gig I’ve ever been to! The tune on that video is called Leaving Hope.

My Mum & Dad had a Magnet kitchen fitted a couple of years ago and are very happy with it. The installation and final finish will be down to who ever fits it as Magnet probably sub-contract the work.

I’ve got Zipp 404’s. Whether they help or not I don’t know but they look bling!

They can be a handful in strong crosswinds and they do make a stiffer ride.

I did a California tour a few years ago with the wife. We did a loop starting and finishing in LA. Stayed in Santa Monica for a few days then drove to las Vegas and had 4 nights there. Then drove to San Francisco via death valley, the Sierra Nevada mountains and Yosemite. We did this leg over 2 days staying overnight in a quaint little town called Bishop, from there the next day drove through the TIoga Pass the SF. Wished we had longer in the mountains as they really were beautiful. Had 4 nights in SF then drove down the costal road to Malibu were we had another and final 4 nights relaxing on Zuma beach during the day (they filmed Baywatch on Zuma beach)

LA to be honest is a dump, Hollywood is very seedy, downtown LA is very dodgy, not too bad in Beverley Hills. Santa Monica was quite nice but I wouldn’t really recommend anywhere else. Oh Venice Beach was ok too but can be quite dodgy on a night, liked walking along the beach and the canals.

We had a great time, we had dedicated driving days where we knew we’d have to do a fair few miles. Never had a convertible in CA just a full size car as the Americans call them but had a new style mustang in Florida. Will say they look better than what they are like to drive, and live real axle was “entertaining” not a good car!

Any questions ask but a place well worth visiting.

My wife works for NFU and says these lanterns are causing major problems for the farming community. There has been several big fires over last summer because of them. They also frighten the farm livestock too.

Rapha Merino wool ones. I’ve got long sleeve ones for winter and long sleeve for summer. Not bad value if you buy the 3 pack deal. They really are excellent quality, fit and work well!

Took me five months until I could ride a bike again. I couldn’t put any pressure on my shoulder and it was just too painful to ride a bike. My collar bone wasn’t pinned, just wore a sling and rested it.

Good luck and hope you heal soon!

I just had 4 of my closest friends on my stag do in Amsterdam. I didn’t want a huge party or family there (didn’t want them to see what I was getting up to/smoking/taking etc) I’ve been on several stag do’s all overseas that have been large groups. The group always splits up at some point and then you have the issue of trying to get a large group of pissed English blokes into somewhere. Been to Krakow in Poland several times ane they are the worst, anything over two in a group and you’ve had it, top weekend though!

Just have people you want there not people you think should be there.

I’ve drilled my SKS mudguards when the mudflap fell off. I used a HSS (high speed steel) drill bit using a battery drill on a slow rpm setting. Worked well.

Two switches controlling one light so you have a 2 way light switch.

Why do you need to find which cable goes to the switch? It sound by your description that the live, neutral and earth cables are looped in and out of the light fitting. Does the light switch control a couple of light fittings?

The only way to safely find which cable does go to the switch is to ISOLATE the lighting circuit and prove dead then using a multimeter bell out the live cable, easiest way connect the live and earth at the switch then test at the light fitting. The main thing is to prove the circuit is dead before working on and lock off if possible.

If you’re travelling from Scotland what about North Sea Ferries from Hull? Saves driving all the way to the South coast, extra fuel miles on the car etc. Again book early it’s much cheaper’ I’ve paid as low as £220 in the past.

I’ve got Oval Concepts R910 Aergo Carbon bars on my road bike, probably not the lightest carbon bars but very comfy with the flat tops especially when climbing.

I saw Zane do a DJ set a couple of years ago, was a top night. I dislike Chris Moyles with a passion, the sooner he’s kicked off radio 1 the better.

Also any good riding that I could sneak off for a few hours?

I know of some very good “riding” in Vegas!!

From what I understand the braking surface on a disc only rim is thinner so would wear away muck quicker than a rim braking rim. Also the braking surface will be smaller / narrower so rim brakes will not be as efficient. I wouldn’t recommend using the 223 rim at all!

    1 Fixed wheel road bike
1 Winter trainer / commuter road bike
    1 carbon road bike

I put a new pair of rear tyres onto a Honda S2000 then went for a 2200 mile drive around France for a weekend with a few friends 8) by the time I got home both rear tyres were at the legal minimum, they lasted 4 days!

I doubt anything will touch this for the cash

Bought one of those for my Sister & Brother-in-Law for Christmas, I’ve not listened to it but they are very happy. Good spec and price.

I bought an Orbea Alma earlier this year and the 2011 model that is no different to the 2010 model is about £1000 more expensive. Thinking I got a bargain now!

Not just BMW’s, any RWD car. I’ve got a Mercedes and it’s just as bad, it has 255/35/18 rear tyres and just has no grip whatsoever in the snow and ice. Luckily the wife has a Toyota Aygo so I use that when the roads are bad.

It’s the forth RWD car I’ve had that included BMW, Honda and Porsche and it’s doesn’t put me off buying a fifth!

The wife has had an Aygo for over four years, costs me peanuts to run, good mpg, surprising amount of room inside and not too bad put together. Got our 1.0 Sport model with a £1600 discount and if I sold it tomorrow would only loose about £2500 in depreciation over the four years from new. If you can get a good discount not too bad cost when you consider the running costs.

I’ve got a Mercedes saloon and I’d rather drive the Aygo around town anyday!

I’ve got the Bowers & Wilkins P5 headphones.

Highly recommend them, the sound reproduction is excellent and the remote control on the lead works very well.
