No problems here with LUST Crossmarks on Crest rims.

Yes mine creaked. I found that one of the bolts underneath had disappeared and thought replacing that would sort it but it didn’t. So I sold it and got a Thomson instead :-)

an offset bushing in the lower link

Eh? Is this something you’ve changed yourself? Tell me more!

I’ve got one that I’ve had nearly 3 years and during winter it gets washed every time it’s worn, i.e. most weeks. It’s got a couple of little holes from falling off etc but they haven’t frayed at all. Maybe they don’t make em like they used to!

I’ve got a Specialized one that was about £25 3 years ago. Never had trouble seating UST tyres with it.

I have a bell but the hose is way too short.

I’ve got one, and I intend to fit a reducer. Uses the travel up too easily so I have to set a bit less sag than I’d like to.

I had that on mine. Sort of like a tide mark. Nothing to worry about if it fits that description.

I’ve had some SXs since 2010. I’ve only had to true them (slightly) once and that was after a crash that broke my frame. The freehub fell to bits recently and that’s now been replaced with the improved one that the latest (white) versions come with.

I’ve got a Dakine Drafter. Smaller than a Nomad but can still carry a full face helmet and has the straps on the bottom for carrying pads too.

100mm SIDs on mine. Haven’t really got any cheap bits on it because I’m a tart.

I’ve got some and previously had AM40s. Much sturdier and with more grip. Take ages to dry as with all five tens.

Yep that’s the set. It’s just the seal on the far left of the pic that you’re after though.

I think you can only get the seal as part of a fox shock seal kit although if you speak to Loco tuning he might be able to get them. I haven’t had to top the air pressure up since fitting it to mine although I’m not sure how the seal would make a difference to that. Possibly just a coincidence. Definitely recommended if you can get one anyway.

Try not to fall off near the top of the Rangers and snap your back brake hose off. Walking all the way down with your bike isn’t fast or fun :|

For people who haven’t done it / heard about it already, the best way to protect from muck getting in is to replace the seal at the top with one from a Fox shock. It’s a proper tight fit unlike the standard one and really does the trick. I fitted one last year and haven’t had to take the post to bits to clean / grease since. Before that it was every other ride. There have been threads about it before.

    “elite rider on your left”

You joke, but I’ve heard that one…

Try not to accidentally do this to strangers, thinking they are actually part of your group, like I did. It was ages ago now and I’ve never heard the end of it :D

You could probably make one 29lbs if you tried. Mine is a medium and has Lyriks (air), Crossmax SXs with LUST tyres, Formula R1s, XT / SLX and a Jopin 4. It weighs 30.4lbs.

…was it difficult to lock up outside Asda?

It wasn’t locked up at all. That’s how he acquired it.

Yes they’re always too high. Ignore them and set the pressure based on achieving the right % sag.

I saw one near Gloucester a few years ago. Apparently the area is a hot spot for sightings. I tell EVERYONE who will listen :-)

I recently changed from Revs to Lyriks on my Devinci Dixon and they definitely added a lot of that “plough through anything” feel. They’re great.

There’s also a face in one of the bricks – on pic 2 its directly above the top of the back wheel. It could be Jesus, or Bishop Brennan.

One of the bids, and I don’t know it it won, had a 350m red grade section in it too.

    350 miles! That’s pretty long.

Spokes weigh a tonne, so remove a few. Start with 12 from each wheel.

Garmin 200, without a doubt. Every Garmin product I have used has been flawless in build and use. I have been using a 500 for the last 18 months and wouldn’t want to change it.

And the GPS functions are surprisingly useful too!

Does the 500 do any sort of mapping, i.e. can you save tracks on it?

I always did love the irony of the jersey.

Yes, it does look nicely ironed.

Is this picture not with the relevant police forces / local newspapers? They put this sort of thing on their websites so people can identify them.

20 years ago people got stuck on the M62 and several died of hypothermia. I didn’t understand at the time why people didn’t run engines to stay warm.

Because if the engine isn’t under load for a long period of being stationary it doesn’t give enough heat and your heater won’t blow hot. So if you’re planning on being stuck in a car overnight, take lots of spare clothes, like I didn’t.
