Take the valve cores out every so often and pick the gunk out. You can also replace the cores by buying spares or “borrowing” them out of an inner tube.

Wear a massive coat to the conceal the bike and just ride in :-)

My lockring tool gives you no option but to use a spanner!

Get your heaviest mate to come round. One of you put all your weight on the chainwhip handle and one on the handle of a mahoosive adjustable spanner. Maybe bounce a bit. Worked for me.

Huge variations between shops & suppliers but on a full bike I’ve been told it’s roughly a 15% mark up

Gotta be more than that. I just bought a 2013 bike from my LBS at a 20% discount. Now, I have bought three bikes from them in the last 18 months so they look after me, but I know they’re not going to sell at a loss!

Same here. I actually got 27% off a 2013 bike. I didn’t haggle or owt, just asked what sort of deal he could do me.

I read the title as “shitter hitting the top tube”! Probably just as bad in a crash :D

Are ST the same width as SX? I’ve got 2.5 Minions on my SXs and they’re fine.

These look looooong in the top tube area, no? Those saddles are slammed forward on the rails, not cool.

They’re not actually massively long. I thought it was going to be too long for me but it’s spot on. I don’t like being stretched out so mine fits me (5’10”) perfectly with a 60mm stem and a straight seatpost (clamp right in the middle of the rails if we’re measuring ;-) )

p7rich – I might have a couple of spare half links I can give you. E-mail me if interested.

    mr_mills

That will do the trick but it’s an expensive way of doing it. Try and find a bit of left over half link chain first like I did. Also isn’t that chain 1/8″ not 3/32″? I think it is but best to check.
