New pawl springs after only 6 months? It's probably only done a few hundred miles.

Come on – someone must have stayed there!!

I can only manage a couple.

You're not supposed to eat them whole, and you're also supposed to cook them first. Go and have another try and report back :-)

is the mmbop a comfy ride

    No!!!

It's stiff as hell. Brilliant though. Get one!

How long have you been using the Candies though? I found the same at first when I changed from M520s to Candy Cs. After a few rides I got used to them and now find them just as easy to clip into as SPDs and actually easier to get out.

Its a bridle way it is marked….just there a re two planks of wood in the ground and a small marker post and is really easy to miss. it was about 100-200 meters after the second gate at the bottom of the massive techy ranger decent half way down the section with all the slate water bars.

Great stuff – that's just what I needed. Thanks.

By the way is the Ranger's path marked as such from the summit? If not, any tips on how to make sure we start off in the right direction?

On an mmmbop you'll be wanting 140mm. I've got Vanillas on mine.

Is "the right turn" a bridleway / is it marked / is it really easy to miss etc??

I've just ordered the frame along with a Mythic Munro headset and am borrowing the Vanilla 32s off my hardtail for now. Will change to Floats or maybe Talas 36s when I can afford to. Until then my lovely but forkless, wheelless, everythingless MmmBop frame will get a bit of a rest (sorry Brant).

mttm – did you get a Hope headset with a zero stack 1 1/8th top cup and 1.5" lower cup? I know about the reducer headsets as I've already got one – where did you get this from?

Hmmm so if you had zero stack height on the bottom cup would there not be enough clearance? I think the Freeborn site says 160mm forks need zero stack height. I was thinking if I got one I'd put Talas 36s on, but not if I can't crash!

Oooh I've been looking at getting one of those.

    – How long are your forks?
    – What headset are you using?
    – Is there clearance between fork crown / downtube for them to turn 90deg (e.g. crash / lying bike in back of car etc)?

I use it in Continental tubes which also have the removable valve core.

I tried mine back to front once (i.e. split opposite the slot) just to see what happened. The post just plopped down into the frame.

The light should go red when it's connected and charging. If the light is green it's because it's not charging so is either not connected to the mains or is fully charged. Leave it charging until the light goes from red to green.

They refer to the seat tube size.

It's all about the sag anyway – if you can get about 25% sag in the 'attack' position you've got the right spring.

Ah – not my problem then. I tend to find that mine works a bit loose fairly regularly. It still does it even if I tighten the top cap more than I think I should.

your seal won't contact properly(maybe the cause of a small number of people having problems with these headsets?).

What would the symptoms be if this was the case??

    mr_mills

I weigh about 180lbs and use the purple spring. I get about 30-40mm of sag (with no preload) but have only managed to get full travel out of them once or twice.

So if I was you I'd go down to the black one.

Standover height will be a problem. I'm about 5'10" on a 16" MmmBop and I wouldn't want to be any shorter. Gentleman vegetables are very close to the top tube. Top tube is quite long too.

So I would say you're too short but Brant will probably reply in a bit to tell me how wrong I am.
