I've got one. Works fine so far. Very little side to side play compared to my old Joplin 3.

Easy to miss some of the little signs though! Eyes peeled…

I've got Merlin built ones and they've stayed perfectly straight for about 7 months. I will definitely get my next wheels from there too.

Don't be put off by how miserable they are :-)

It should be on as it stops the spring rattling.

Same here – just changed my Head Doctor for a SFN and kept the Hope cap and bolt.

When I got done for speeding I had to take the licence into the police station for them to send off. The speeding ticket had a little tear off bit that they fill in and give you back and you produce that instead of your licence if you get stopped again.

I lost that, and then the police lost my licence. Idiots.

I had 2 KS i900s which both went wrong in various ways and had to go back so I wouldn't have another of those until all their little problems have been sorted out.

Since then I've had a Joplin 3 and a Joplin 4 which have both been fine.

(It just so happens that the Joplin 3 is for sale if anyone wants it – only had a few months' use).

Jim Bowen – I'll try and get some pics sorted tonight or tomorrow for you.

I'm in Merseyside. I had put it in the classifieds for £250 ono including the Hope headset (which had a few months' use in the previous frame). They are £275 in the shops and the headset was about £60.

I can take some pics and send you them if you want to give me your e-mail address.

I've also got the 2009 Fox Vans I was using with the frame if you're interested along with other bits e.g. an SLX chainset, Joplin seatpost, Chromag handlebar etc etc

Nope not on ebay, if you mean the complete bike.

The one I'm selling is a new unused frame.

what size is the mmmbop frame you have for sale mr mills?

It's 16", green. Hope reducer headset fitted. I've also got various other bits available for it, including some 2009 Fox Vanilla 32s.

Prop it upright for a while or fit it to the bike. They don't work after they've been left horizontal. The oil needs to collect at the bottom.

I think he means just have lots of low speed compression damping, not lock it out.

I've got some 2010 Revs and have set up them as described by Rickos (although I have my compression set 2 clicks away from lockout) – works great.

    anyone else rate middleburn ?

No!! I fitted a brand new Middleburn middle ring and got really bad chainsuck when shifting down to my inner ring, every time. So bad that it would jam up completely. The bottom of the ring just didn't want to let go of the chain. Changed it for a Race Face one which is fine. Middleburn inner ring is ok though.

Alternatively they could mate, and spawn a great-white-grizzly-bear-shark monster which could destroy the world…

If you're just removing the big ring and leaving mech and shifters the same, just adjust the mech stop so it can't shift past the middle ring.

I can't provide any comparisons with other bikes I'm afraid as it's the only full suspension bike I've had. Still loving it so far. I did 8 hours on mine on Saturday.

    Here's a gratuitous pic…

I regularly make mine up the night before a ride and leave it in the fridge and it's fine.

After a ride I just put the camelbak bladder in the freezer along with anything that's left in it then let it melt and top it up the night before I next need it. Not had a problem at all.

My chainsuck started when I fitted a brand new Middleburn middle ring!

    mr_mills

I think chainsuck seems to be a common Middleburn issue. I've got a 34T one on my XT chainset and when shifting down to my granny the bottom of the middle ring just doesn't want to let go. I've heard of others reporting the same problem.
