It doesn't matter – you can use either. Top swing / conventional is nothing to do with whether the cable is top or bottom pull. I had a top swing one on mine.

Loads of play in mine too. Works fine though.

I'm 5'9" *and three quarters* and the medium is perfect for me with a 70mm stem.

Definitely no need for adjustable forks – it climbs great on 150s.

You're a genius. Have you got one of those mounts then? Can it mount on the stem as well as the bars? I've just ordered one anyway.

I've been using a Dakota for a couple of months and it's great apart from it has recently decided to start jumping out of its mounting.

I've got a 2.25 UST NN on the front of my bike and I haven't had any problems at all on damp roots / rocks. It's a lot more grippy than I expected it to be. It was an absolute bugger to get on though!

If it's a cable remote it may be that the cable tension is too high and the button is being pressed all the time.

The problem I've had with mine is that when it's up it's fine but when I put it down it won't come back up again. I've sent it back (3 months old!)
