Agreed – they’re nice but a bit greasier. Haven’t tried setting fire to one yet to see how it compares to a real Pringle for flammability.

My shifters came in a proper Shimano box. My chain came wrapped in cling film. :-)

It just says “financing available”. It did say it was for a limited period only but it’s still there.

You might not be aware that although the iPhone 5 is ridiculously expensive, the Apple store do a 0% finance option so you could get a 5, pay for it over 10 months then sell it after you contract renews and you get another new one.

I’ve just bought one that way (after dropping my 4S down the toilet :| )

I had the same problem with having chaintugs on my Whippet. I got a long XTR one which works fine and looks quite nice too. In fact I’ve stripped the bike and I’m getting rid so it’s available if you want to make me an offer.

Unrelated but a fact none the less. There are 80 million Irish passports in use today; only 8 million in Ireland. This may or may not be a true fact as a drunk Irish man told me but I like using this sot of none confirmed unfact.

Is that a Rune? was sorely tempted by one of those – the bushing life thing put me off. How have you found it?

Yes it is. The bushings are ok if you look after them and don’t have one that was overtightened in the factory. I had a Spitfire with that problem and it got replaced under warranty. I only bought the Rune earlier this year and it’s been fine.

Is it just me that’s got one of these?

Picture a hideously deformed freak. That’s what I look like.

The frame is a lot more compact than older ones though, with a sticky up bit of seat tube above the top tube, making the saddle look lower than it is.

Saddle looks low – how tall are you?

I’m 5’10”. That was taken before I’d ridden it and I think it’s a tiny bit higher now but not much. I’m longer up top with shorter legs. It fits nicely. M/L is the right size according to Giant’s sizing thingy though.
