Are you appending :5000 to the hostname when you try to connect from outside your home network?

I always follow the method in the link posted by DezB – no tears when chopping onions since I started doing this about 20 years ago.

    Slightly less waffly video:

I was running it with 2×3 plus 2×2 but it will support 4Tb drives. See here.

maybe slightly less capacity per drive than I wanted in the long term

Not sure what you mean by this. You can put in whatever capacity drive(s) you want – up to 4 x 4Tb.

I’m no fan of Blunt’s music but his response to Twitter trolls is often genius.

I love that you’re not ashamed to admit you have both. RT @EugeneBarnardo: I love James Blunt as much as I love herpes.

Could be talking bollox here (not followed the trial closely), but is the case against her not a bit flimsy to support a full monty murder charge? No convincing motive, previous good character, no physical evidence at all tying her to the murder (AFAIK?) plus the guy who actually did it is already locked up!
Her account seems bogus, but really you’d need some sort of irrefutable physical evidence to carry a guilty verdict ISTM.

Also the guy who admitted to the murder got a reduced sentence for naming Knox and Sollecito as being involved.

Found this on Reddit which does sound vaguely plausible.

Apparently, there were cardboard boxes scattered over the freeway from some asshole not securing them properly. As my brother was riding past, a box was picked up by the wind, hit him in the face. He fell backwards off the bike, and slid into an HOV lane where a bus was coming.
This is where people’s skepticism start. The bus didn’t quite HIT him. He slid under the bus (between the two front wheels, thank god) and some part of his clothes got hooked onto the bus. The scrape on his helmet is so deep and even because he was dragged by the bus until it came to a stop. If he had just come to a stop on his own, the helmet wouldn’t be like this, but since it took as long for him to stop as the bus took, this is what happened.

Still not entirely convinced myself. The bus would need to travel some distance to grind that much helmet away.

I had one arrive on Monday from insurance I took out at the beginning of November. That was the third one I’ve received and they all took a similar amount of time. You should receive intermittent emails updating you on their location as they travel from the motherland.

The high horsemen of the apocalypse have arrived in number on this thread. Try looking at this from another angle.

The company have to refund the OP because they are unable to fulfil the order in a timely manner, at this point both parties have agreed the order is cancelled so no contract exists between the two. In an attempt to regain the business they deliver anyway when it comes into stock with the expectation that they will receive payment. This is a criminal offence under the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971 so the OP would be within his rights to keep the item. Not saying it’s right but the law’s the law innit.

The Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971 makes it an offence for a company to send you goods you have not ordered. The legislation is intended to discourage companies from sending customers unordered goods in the hope that they will be induced by lethargy or ignorance to pay for them. Companies who send out unordered goods in this way do so at great risk since once you receive the goods you do not have to pay for them and they are yours to keep. linky

Both black and silver out of stock everywhere ….

Use http://www.icheckstock.co.uk. Shows that there’s quite a few branches which still have these.

Is this a 3.5″ or 2.5″ drive ie desktop or portable? If desktop check the power supply isn’t failing and not supplying enough power. If portable try using a powered USB hub or one of those cables that have 2 USB plugs to draw twice the power.

I’ve got a couple of portable drives which click when the USB isn’t supplying enough power. Oddly if I turn one of them on it’s side it will often work.

PC World – has anyone experience with using their recovery service…?

I don’t think Gary Glitter recommends it.

I can’t believe no one has yet mentioned the talent vacuum that is Fearne Cotton.

I remember The Word – I don’t recall Jools Holland being on it thought. I do remember him being quite good on The Tube though.

I need around 1km of chain.

Based on an HG40 chain I calculate that at over 230kg – how portable is this chair going to be? 8O

He did have it written for him as well though.

He”s got a writing credit on every track and on three he’s the sole credited writer – in what way was it written for him.

All episodes of Inbetweeners are on 4OD so in this case that would be almost free – the only cost being you have to watch some adverts.

I’ve got a couple of the ones from surroundedbyhills’ link. Didn’t expect much at that price but they are extremely bright, seem very well made and at that price are virtually disposable recyclable – not that either of them have failed in the 6 months I’ve had them.
