Try warming it with a hairdryer and gently peeling it off. But if it’s on lining paper it’s likely the glue is stronger than the paper so it’s gonna be a struggle.

    To the OP

My guess, given the age of most of the stuff on VE, is this. Mass archaeology which took place 2000-2004 in advance of stansted development.

If you look closer to the airport there are far more of these features.

On the listing the seller said that it worked with his old Minolta but wouldn’t auto focus with his A700. This obviously put most people off, but I thought it was worth a cheeky last minute bid and it’s been fine.

he knew he was geting a crap duty, so instead of a office job he picked something outside, he didnt want to go on the boats, but it was the best crap option available.so he said he did not want the boats so that is whre they sent him,

It was actually Bunk who told Rawls that McNulty didn’t want to go on the boats. Just why does Rawls hate Mcnulty so much? I think I missed something at the beginning of series 1.

There is also a lens database on the Dyxum site.

    Info on the Sigma here.

    Info on the Minolta here.

Have a read of the reviews.

I’ve got the Sigma 75-300mm APO on my A350. I can’t really fault it but I am no expert – and it only cost me £35 off Ebay so even less to complain about.

Have you tried asking on the Dyxum forum? You’ll get someone far more knowledgable over there.

I love in series 2 that everybody (even Bubbles) knows more about the boats than McNulty.

I can’t understand how the fuzz can make you delete your photographs. If you are committing an offence then the photographs are evidence and it is illegal to destroy evidence, if you have done nothing wrong then you do not have to delete anything.

If they ever try this with me I will be deleting nothing even if this results in a trip down to the police station – the sooner more people take this stance the sooner they will re-think this stupidity.

Had heard a lot about The Wire, but assumed it was mainly hype.

Started watching it on BBC2 and was instantly hooked and got hold of series 1 & 2 as I couldn’t wait for my nightly fix.

Have just spent yesterday and today watching the whole of series 2, absolutely the best TV series I have ever watched. I have never watched a whole series like that before as I usually get bored after a couple of episodes but this is like a good book that you just want to turn the page and find out what happens next.

Gonna have to be careful though as the next person to upset me may just get called a dumb ass mf.

And just how do you spell alright without using any consonants?

Off out now to find series 3-5.

    Irfanview

    Select File > Batch Conversion/Rename

Under Name pattern enter $F (this will save the new file with the original filename and directory structure)

Beneath this enter the Output directory where you want the thumbnails saved (do not use the current directory as the resulting files will have the same name and directory structure and will not save)

Mark the tickbox for advanced options and then select the Advanced button.

Tick the Resize box and enter the new size you want the resulting file to be.

Under Miscellaneous tick Create sub folders in destination folder.

    Click OK

Tick the Include subdirectories box on the left hand side.

Locate and highlight the folder where your photos are kept in the directory box (top right)

    Click Add all button

    Click Start Batch button

    This works for me.

Saw a bit on Question Time, some Labour MP stating he needed a second home to make sure he got to work on time and to avoid commuting…. Not as though he had that far to go!

That was Eric Pickles the Conservative party chairman. Has a second home in London, 37 miles from his first house as he is very important and doesn’t think he should have to travel every day with the hoi polloi.

Earlier, somebody mentioned the aeroplane graveyard in Arizona.

Can see it on Google maps here.

Loving this thread, thanks CFH for starting it.

    Another vote for the Warthog.

I used to spend hours watching these on the range at Donna Nook when we used to go camping there each summer. I also remember sitting in the back of minbus whilst one of these stalked us for target practice, scary – somewhere up near Ladybower IIRC.

Cheers MtbCol, you’ve answered a question which has been bugging me for weeks.

It was a C17 Globemaster I saw flying out of Birmingham Airport a while back. Didn’t recognize it at all, just knew it was mahoosive, had a T-tail and 4 engines – very impressive.

Quick search turns out to be troops being flown into Selly Oak.

6 Music used to be good, when they had Phill Jupitus on the breakfast show followed by Gideon Coe.

Now we get Sean Keaveney – I can’t get past the fact that he sounds like that other talentless Bolton twunt Vernon Kay – followed by George Lamb – please back off the mike and stop talking crap.

    Got room for one more.

I only live about 4 miles from Sherwood Pines, but have only ever been twice and struggled to find any decent trails, so it would be good to follow someone who knows their way around. (and since I am not what you would call a racing snake, it will probably be following at some distance)

When you took out the interest only mortgage, what mechanism was in place to pay it off at the end – did you take out an endowment or something similar?

Even if you are still on an interest only mortgage, if it is still a lower rate than you can get elsewhere, you would be better off sticking with it and using any extra money to overpay the mortgage to reduce the capital – if the terms of your mortgage allow.

As was said above you probably need some professional advice – but do try and find someone who is genuinely independent.
