Mudshark, could you send me a copy of the spreadsheet too please, to track(AT)numbertwenty.plus.com.

Currently got a very low interest rate (more by accident than design) and overpaying my mortgage, so would be interested to find out how this affects the term I will be paying this over. Hopefully your spreadsheet can help with this.

I forgot my wallet today and all I had on me was £1.20 in change. Managed to get a cheese sandwich from Asda for a pound (I know, living the dream) but since I get an allowance for lunch of close to a fiver I’m actually the best part of £4 up on the day.

I’ve done a thorough search on the web and I think what you have there is a Bic biro.

£7.75 per year to enable you to travel to most of the world. Like you say – daylight robbery.

You could get, like, 2 coffees from Starbucks for that sort of money.

There’s a traffic light controlled junction near me which consists of a busy single carriageway crossing a dual carriageway. Every morning it is backed up a couple of hundred yards in each direction. I was surprised one morning when I approached the junction at the usual busy time and there was virtually no traffic waiting. The traffic lights had failed and instead of this resulting in chaos people were simply being careful and sensible resulting in the junction being free of traffic and no one waiting.

Most people will do the right and sensible thing in these situations, unfortunately we have to legislate for the idiotic and thoughtless minority who feel that the road belongs to them and this results in a proliferation of control which impacts on everyone.

It would be nice to think that we could introduce these shared spaces, but (as well as the thoughtless minority) many people are now so used to being managed on the roads that they can’t think for themselves and get very confused when called upon to make a decision, so we would need years of re-education to be able to achieve this.

Except the very simple and often occuring circumstances that you are drunk and you need to go somewhere.

Taxi, bus, train. You are aware that there are other forms of transport available.

Edit: Beaten to it by project.

i was caught doing 62 in a temporary 40 zone, the court case is for speeding as there is a potential discressionary ban issued by magistrates on top of fine and points.

If you were offered 3 points and a fine then that is how the speeding matter has been dealt with. You cannot then be punished again for the same offence unless the points take you over the totting up limit. Go and have a look at the paperwork which came with the offer of points it will say that you have the option of accepting the points or going to court should you decline, you cannot then be taken to court having accepted the punishment and paid the fine.

I was caught doing 56 in a temporary 30 earlier this year. The officer could not issue a FPN at the roadside as it was outside the guidelines he had. He explained to me that given the circumstances and the location of the offence (the wilds of rural Scotland) it was likely the PF would issue a FPN (which they did) but was possible I could be summmonsed. So even though you didn’t get a FPN at the roadside the magistrate can still issue a FPN at their discretion and having accepted and paid this that should be the end of the matter.

There seems to be an epidemic in the UK of people just looking for things to be offended and outraged about. I’m sure that now it’s been highlighted there’ll be a rush of complaints from the hard of thinking who need to be told by a daily paper what they should believe.

What about those thicker bags that you forget to take to the supermarket that you can use again and again and again?

Funny you should mention this. Just this morning I swapped a laser printer for a Simpsons Monopoly game with Munkster of this parish. How much more random would you like it.

Where are you Munkster?

In my shed I have a little used HP1320 laserjet, I rescued 2 of them from being junked and have been using one for about 2 years (on the same cartridge). I could do with clearing some stuff out of the shed and this will be a start – if you can collect from Mansfield you can have it.

Wot Cranberry said.

Look at the price of the 1Tb version – £212 8O

I bought the same WD elements 1Tb drive (although that was a USB 3.0 version so slightly higher spec) from Comet about six weeks ago for £59 and that was the high street price – last time I looked the weekend before last it was £90 instore.

I did read somewhere that some speculator had bought up a massive amount of the stock from the manufacturers and is trickling it into the market to keep the price high.

Edit: Just checked the Comet website and the USB 2.0 version is £79.99 so the £212 that Kikatek are asking is a real piss-take.

I once hit 55 on the road from Lochranza to Sannox, on Arran. This was on on my mountain bike on slicks which was decked out with panniers front and rear, must have weighed about 70lb with all the crap I had taken. This was back in the days of canti brakes and no sense of my own mortality.

I once bought my wife an ironing board cover for christmas. Not the whole ironing board, there was nothing wrong with the one she had, apart from the cover being a bit tatty.

She’s now my ex-wife, I’m still not sure where it went wrong.

How far north?

I stayed at Doxford Hall last year. It’s had a fortune spent on it in the last couple of years and this really shows. Very quiet area – about 10 miles north of Alnwick close to the Northumberland coast which I would imagine would be quite dramatic in January.

I think McBoo is in fact a Daily Mail bot

And the abuse starts.

That’s not abuse, that’s just a vaguely humorous opinion.

Shut up you idiot.

Now that was the point at which the abuse started.

Oh the ironing.

Kingspan Celotex – cut to size and wedged between the rafters.

I don’t think you’ll have a condensation problem as there is no vapour barrier under the tiles so I would imagine there’s a bit of ventilation between them.

That tank isn’t supplying drinking water is it? If it is you should get a proper cover put on.

As ever when question like this come up the answer is Mediamonkey.

It’s the best tool I’ve found for editing tags and artwork – use Mediamonkey to rip and sort out the tags and then import the files into Itunes.

Has any race organiser ever tried to prosecute (or get the relevant authorities to prosecute) a competitor for fraud if they were found to have cheated? Especially where prize money is involved this could be obtaining money by deception.
If so, who, and what was the outcome?

Dwain Chambers had to pay back all the prize money he won during the time he admitted to doping. Article here. This was a stipulation made by the IAAF before he could compete again so I’m sure they must have used this sanction against other athletes.

Dunno about RSJ! But Nottingham would be one of the best palces for an RSW

I don’t think using a social worker in place of an RSJ would pass building regs.

When I got my copy of Windows 7 from them the key was on the back of the plastic envelope the dvd came in.

Stick the “office professional plus” disk in the drive, it should autorun and give you lots of options to define which bits of Office you want to install.
