according to religious leaders in america its due to women wearing short skirts and being promiscuous so depending on your of view its yashm,ak time and no make up or never mind its a small price to pay

i've ridden it up from forrest bank prison, you can park there , if you carry on to the left at radcliffe asda you can head towards knob end and moses gate park.its all low level stuff but you can make a 20 mile circuit if you want .theres a map you can get called the heritage trail as it takes you past industrial stuff.we used it a few times when it was the foot and mouth and off-road access was v limited.

I always thought somebody should start selling stuff up there but I was thinking more of a coffee shop / bike shop and not clothes pegs and lucky heather .

me and 2 others riding along a bridle way at the end of an evening ride .i'm about a hundred yards in front as there are a series of gates and you end up taking turns to open then .hear the others shout something but couldn't tell what.
next thing theres a loud noise and two horses are galloping right behind me.i pedal like the very devil and they are chasing , i get to the gate shitting myself, get off and open it sharpish style. they give a snort and gallop off doing the horse equivalent of laughing their chuffs off .proves once and for all animules like dicking about too.

if you listen to some of his lyrics , i guess it doesn't come as a complete surprise, wasn't he thought to have died years ago when he passed out on drugs and nearly lost both legs through his circulation being cut off ?

i have read the bicycle diaries but was dissapointed by it , got quite bored quite quickly .he's written other books like the new temptations and to be honest he's the wrong side of quirky and heading into obsession for my tastes.

Lowey I seem to recall you saying before we set off that the ride would not go well due to the evil omen of the dog -george on your tyre. next thing your bottom bracket goes and by the end of the trundle thru the snow my shoes had dissolved – do you have mystic powers/ gypsy blood ? , and the weather turned bad the second you turned back —— mart

i have fitted one recently , not too hard but unless you have access to the large bore drill bit you could end up paying about £40 for one.i managed to borrow one but i thought it was wrong of the kit makers to say that it could be fitted with everyday tools when you need a 20mm bit which very few people would have as a matter of course.

great british tradition , if people pay for it , they'll be happy to charge for mediocre shite , i still think if it wasn't for the influx of foreigne restaurants we'd be having steakhouse fare and going home at 9.30 cos it suited them .

if you go on the yha website there are a couple of good youth hostels with access to the peaks , one of which is an [ alledgedly ] haunted old country house.

i have a fizik gobi which came with my bike and i think they are really over-rated.badly made to the point i had to glue mine back together and not that comfy after a couple of hours. the spoon is cheap and cheerful but if you want a better quality item the specialized bodyform are good as is the bontrager [ which is guaranteed comfortable or you can return it

its always a problem with big rides keeping tabs of everybody and making sure no one gets left.i must admit i felt bad when i realised they had been trying to catch up but someone said they had packed in and gone back due to mechanicals .

natalie merchant is good, either with 10, maniacs or solo

beth gibbons [ ex of portishead ] is worth a listen or two

or if you want to go the other end of the spectrum and listen to a raunchy female vocalist try toni childs. she can sing a house down.
